Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Snickers is a resident in the Campbell County (TN) Animal Center, and the staff at the Center are seeking a foster or permanent home for him, as he is stressed in the shelter environment.   If you are interested in Snickers, please contact the Animal Center through their website or at the phone number given below.  Here is what they say about Snickers, a young BC/Aussie mix: Do you need a little Snickers in your life?? A yummy nougat encased in creamy chocolate to “make you feel you” as the famous advertisement states. This wonderful boy is a Aussie border collie mix. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs 60 pounds. Snickers has the kindest eyes that will melt your heart. To be honest he is struggling in the shelter. Although he is safe, knows he has delicious meals served daily and daily walks he would benefit greatly being in a foster or permanent home. Snickers is a fluffy black and white male, with white front legs and black back legs. He is very smart and is craving to be mentally and physically challenged. His breed mix desires to be trained, given commands and lots of mental stimulus. The shelter is a very loud and is over capacity so he is fearful of his current situation. Each day he improves and when he goes outside for his walks he does a cute little trot of a dance to celebrate. Snickers tail is the short stub that wiggles when he is outside smelling everything Mother Nature has to offer. So what does Snickers need?? A loving patient family that will allow him to relax and trust humans. He would enjoy a bubble bath and a nice brushing to make his black and white coat shine. Snickers is food motivated so his training will be fun and engaging for his new partner. So come in and meet this precious soul and let your heart melt with his sugary sweetness.   The Campbell County Animal Shelter adoption center is open Tuesday - Saturday, 12:00 - 5:30 PM at 749 Towe String Road, Jacksboro, TN 37757   Phone: 423-566-8018   Adoption applications can also be completed online at fccanimals.org  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 2:31 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spirit is a young Border Collie who was adopted recently by her current owner from what that owner describes as 'a bad situation.'  Her owner says Spirit is a lovely dog but is not fitting in with the resident dogs in her current home, and so is available for adoption. While Spirit and the resident dogs in her current home do not get along, this does not mean that Spirit will react negatively to all dogs in general; however, a potential owner should be aware of this and that Spirit may want to be an only dog in her home.  She is accepting of adults and older children, but will chase cats if the opportunity arises.  Since Spirit is living in Kentucky and is not being kept on heartworm preventive, she will need to be tested for heartworm and a potential owner should make this a priority. Spirit's current owner says that she is a 'Shy loving border collie that needs someone who knows how to work with them. Might not like other dogs.' If you are interested in meeting Spirit or learning more about her, please contact her current owner at hatfield.michelle@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 2:31 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. The Center for Animal Rescue and Enrichment (CARE) of St Louis MO is seeking a forever home for Nancy Drew, a young BC mix who has been in their shelter since last September when she was picked up stray in the St Louis area. Nancy is a sweet young dog who is in need of a home where dog behavior is understood and she can receive the training she needs.  Her puppy behaviors of jumping and barking can be managed and the sooner she is adopted and out of the shelter, the sooner that positive training can begin, which will allow Nancy to be the friendly youngster that the shelter workers know. Because of her shelter environment, some things are not known about Nancy:  how she rides in a car, how she behaves around children, etc.  However, her overall personality is that of a dog who wants to learn things and be with people.   If you want to know more about Nancy Drew or make an appointment to meet her, please contact CARE St Louis at adopt@icarestl.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 2:31 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Luna is a young BC mix whose owners are interested in finding her a home where she will get more attention, including some training or behavior modification for the anxiety she displays.  Her owners say she has a definite 'touch boundary' and will react when it is breached by showing teeth and even  nipping.  She also resource guards, particularly her food.  It is not advised that she be in a home with children at this time. However, Luna is also a sweet, playful dog and her owners say this about her: 'Luna is a two-year-old, 35 lb Border Collie mix with a big heart and endless energy. She's incredibly smart, loves playing fetch, learning new tricks, and thrives with daily structure and activity.Luna is crate trained, mostly housebroken, and bonds closely with her person once trust is built. She does best as the only dog in the home, as she has resource guarding tendencies. Luna also has strong touch boundaries:  if she doesn't want to be petted, she will show her teeth as a warning, and if ignored, she may nip (though she has never broken skin). When her energy needs are met, she's calm, affectionate, and focused. For example, after a good park visit, she recently completed a full vet exam and vaccines with no issues or muzzle needed. Luna is looking for an experienced, active owner who understands dogs with clear boundaries and can provide her with the structured life she deserves. She will bring so much loyalty, love, and joy to the right person who understands her unique needs.' If you would like to meet Luna or just know more about her, please contact her owners at austin.schmitt@wwt.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 2:31 pm
