Story
This is Zoey. She’s an active 2 year, 5 mo. old boxer beagle. She’s been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on her shots, and is a loving playful dog. She loves dogs and humans and loves to play the most with that orange and blue ball shown in the photos. So be ready to throw or kick that ball. Zoey is very athletic. She loves to run and jump up in the air to catch the ball. It’s really beautiful to see her in motion. She also likes to take long walks and being outside. Zoey also likes to snuggle up with her human and receive belly and back rubs. If you have a dog that likes to play, Zoey would be a good sibling. She needs someone or a family that will want to play with her by throwing that orange and blue ball and whatever games you would like to teach her, but mostly she will like hanging out with you or her new sibling. She is also used to going to doggie daycare and loves her little doggie friends. Loving persons or families please choose Zoey.

Story
Stella is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Stella is one of the most low maintenance fosters I've ever had the pleasure of helping find a forever home. From being a shy, scared, and timid girl to being confident, secure, and well-mannered, Stella has grown so much in the 2+ years I've known her; although the vacuum cleaner is still enemy #1. Stella has lived in all types of settings: in a busy city, in an apartment, on a quiet street, with dogs, with reactive dogs, and easily adapted to her home environment. She is crate trained and LOVES having a bed in her crate to curl up into a donut while you're at work. She knows every basic command like sit, down, touch, stay and is fully potty trained. Stella's favorite toy is a lambie, or something else that is tiny that she can carry around in her mouth. Once, she took care of an egg for 6 hours before it broke, she's the most gentle creature. Stella is made of love and French fries. There's nothing more that she wants than to be inside with her people, cuddled up on the couch with a show, or playing sous chef in a calm kitchen. She takes awhile to warm up to her people, but with some french fires (her favorite is Burger King), some space, and a bit of patience, she'll love you unconditionally and will likely knock you over from wagging her tail and wiggling so hard with excitement every time she sees you. Although Stella is a perfect girl in the home, on leash, and with other dogs, she is scared of human strangers, especially masculine presenting people, and will need a strong advocate to help keep her safe. If you're looking for a great addition to your calm and cozy life with unconditional love to give, Stella is the gal for you. Stella would do best living with queer folks, a home without cis-gendered men, without cats, and without small children. ATTRIBUTES: Stella has lived in foster with other dogs, but can not go to a home with kids, cats, or cis-gendered men. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Barks occasionally My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Vela is how hard she tries to be a lap dog! Likes: Hikes, riding in the car, snuggling   Hi, Im Vela (rhymes with Shelia)! Im a super happy, playful girl who absolutely loves her people. Seriously, if you look up loyal in the dictionary, Ill be there. Well, okay, not actually. But I could be! I am excellent with people and enjoy human attention. I have demonstrated appropriate behavior in professionally managed dog playgroups and do go to daycare a few days a week, but benefit from clear structure and boundaries around other dogs. A home as an only dog is ideal and supervised dog interactions are best. Dog parks are not a great fit for me. Im crate and potty trained, and good about staying home alone if it isnt a daycare day. I love snacks and toys, and as queen of the house, I believe that I should have as many of both as I want! Im sure my future subjectser, family, will agree. Im a smart cookie, and Ive already learned a bunch of new tricks since coming to D.C. I know sit, stay, off, and leave it. Id like to learn a lot more tricks with my new forever family, so get your treats ready! If youre looking for a spunky cuddlebug who will keep the couch warm while youre at work, and greet you with all the joy in the world when youre back, look no further! For real-a, you need a Vela! Story
Ferris is a sweet little dog with a lot of personality. Here is what our wonderful kennel manager shared with us about this cute fella: “Ferris is very clean in his kennel …. although he likes bringing leaves inside to play with! He always sits when told. He may vibrate while sitting, but he still does a very good sit! He enjoys playing with other dogs. His favorite toy is a 3 foot long braided rope toy. He tosses it up in the air & has a lot of fun with it. He recently learned how to play tug of war with the rope:) He’s still a bit green on a leash but I leash-walk him to the play yard most days so he’s getting much better. I think he’d like to have some young boys & girls to play with. Ferris loves taking long walks & going on new adventures. He probably hasn’t ever had a pup cup yet, so there’s lots of things he needs to learn about! “ If you are interested in meeting this adorable little dog please let us know. Story
Promise is devoted to her people and her house manners are absolutely perfect. She is fully house trained and does not destroy anything -- even her own toys. She loves to go for walks and would love a home with a fenced yard. She was in a foster home for a while, and they loved her but were no longer in a position to keep her. She loves affection but is not at all overbearing. We think she would lay down her life for her family – that is how strongly this dog loves! We named her Promise because we had no more room on the transport to bring her and we told her that we would come back for her. We kept our word - and we are so glad we did. She had puppies at some point before she was dumped at the poor rural shelter, but she did not come with any of her puppies. This alone must have been awful for her to be separated from her pups. We listed older children because she seems sometimes scared of small children. She would do best in a home without another dog so she can shine and absurd all get all the belly rubs! Did we tell you that she loves belly rubs! We have told Promise that life will be very different from this point on she will have a home with someone who will love her and be kind to her. This is another promise we have made to this sweet dog. If you are interested in Promise, and helping us keep our promises to her, please let us know. Questions About this Animal? Story
ADOPTION FEE WAIVED!! Meet Bella: Your New Best Friend! Bella, a lovable Hound/English Bulldog mix, is a 2-year-old bundle of joy who believes her rightful place is curled up on your lap. Weighing in at 56 pounds, this sturdy girl loves a good play session followed by a cozy nap. Adopted as a puppy at just 8 weeks old, Bella is fully house and crate trained and has settled into her role as the perfect companion. Bella’s sweetness knows no bounds. She has a heart of gold, gets along wonderfully with kids and other dogs, and is just an all-around gentle soul. As for cats, she hasn’t had the chance to meet one yet due to her mom’s feline allergy, but we’re confident she’d be just as loving with them. Bella is a true family dog and has a way of making everyone feel like part of the pack—sometimes even forgetting where her boundaries are (because she's just that loved)! Now, Bella is looking for her forever home—one where she’ll get all the cuddles, love, and maybe a few extra treats. If you’re ready to welcome this affectionate pup into your life, she’ll surely bring endless joy and wagging tails. And about that couch... Bella is on the lookout for a comfy spot, whether it’s next to you or in the sunniest corner of the room. So, if you have room in your heart (and on your furniture), Bella would be forever grateful for a place to call her own. To meet this charming girl, please fill out our pre-adoption application at www.littlebeansorphanark.com. Bella can't wait to find her perfect match and share her love!
