Story
Introducing... Lady! I love to cuddle and am affectionate and friendly. I love chicken flavored treats. I'm gentle and friendly with children. I am friendly with other dogs and have no experience with cats. My family loved how sweet and happy I always seemed to be as well as how much I loved to be around my humans. I'm crate trained and paper trained. I walk well on a leash, stay, shake, come, and do not jump on people. I play well in the yard and like to go running and joggin. I am a very goofy, fun girl. I love all toys! I'm a little nervous being here at the shelter so please ask staff to meet me outside and please be patient with me.

Story
Meet Buttercup! Buttercup was born on July 22, 2023. She is a boxer mix, about 30-35lbs and is guessed to weigh around 40lbs fully grown. She is narrow and small for a boxer mix. Her mom is a full boxer, and we are unsure about dad. Buttercup is a very friendly and active puppy, who just wants attention from her people. She is affectionate, loves kisses, and belly rubs. Buttercup is VERY kissy and loves people. She stays close to her foster mom, always making sure foster mom is still nearby. Buttercup is all joy and bounciness. Nothing makes her happier than to chill right next to you. She learned "sit" in 5 minutes. So much training potential! Buttercup is a smart cookie, who loves to learn new tricks. She's athletic and could be an agility dog. This friendly and funny pooch is your new best friend! She is incredibly affectionate and enjoys showing her love with kisses and belly rubs. Her loyalty will have you feeling loved and cared for each and every day. Buttercup loves to play, run around, and check out what's going on in the world. She's a curious pup who loves to be independent and explore on her own, but also loves the comfort of her humans. She is great with other dogs, as she is not reactive and loves meeting new friends. She does well with children. Buttercup is still learning house manners. She has tapped the door a few times to be let out and is getting housetraining down. With patience and appropriate training, she will become even a more awesome dog! She can jump very high and is very food motivated. Buttercup loves toys, soft beds, and a lap. She crates well at night. Buttercup is looking for an active family that will play and run/hike with her. If you're looking for a loving, loyal, and playful companion, Bellissima Buttercup is the one for you! PLEASE NOTE: We review veterinary care for applicants. This includes regular well visits, up-to-date and consistent core vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm and tick-borne disease testing, and regular monthly heartworm prevention. You MUST contact your vet to give them permission to speak to us for the vet check BEFORE we call them. We will not be able to call veterinarians multiple times and we would hate for an application to be turned down because no authorization is on file with the vet. Application can be found at www.puppypawsrescue.org If your application meets our adoption criteria, we will contact you within 1 week. You will then be asked to schedule an interview and virtual home visit. Please check your SPAM folder for emails from PuppyPawsRescue. Due to the volume of applications, applications that do not move forward to an interview, may not hear back from us within that time frame. Our team is an all-volunteer team, managing families, our paying jobs, households, foster dogs, application processing, interviews and home visits, follow-up, transports, and much more. We ask that you be courteous and patient with us.

Story
Stella is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Stella is one of the most low maintenance fosters I've ever had the pleasure of helping find a forever home. From being a shy, scared, and timid girl to being confident, secure, and well-mannered, Stella has grown so much in the 2+ years I've known her; although the vacuum cleaner is still enemy #1. Stella has lived in all types of settings: in a busy city, in an apartment, on a quiet street, with dogs, with reactive dogs, and easily adapted to her home environment. She is crate trained and LOVES having a bed in her crate to curl up into a donut while you're at work. She knows every basic command like sit, down, touch, stay and is fully potty trained. Stella's favorite toy is a lambie, or something else that is tiny that she can carry around in her mouth. Once, she took care of an egg for 6 hours before it broke, she's the most gentle creature. Stella is made of love and French fries. There's nothing more that she wants than to be inside with her people, cuddled up on the couch with a show, or playing sous chef in a calm kitchen. She takes awhile to warm up to her people, but with some french fires (her favorite is Burger King), some space, and a bit of patience, she'll love you unconditionally and will likely knock you over from wagging her tail and wiggling so hard with excitement every time she sees you. Although Stella is a perfect girl in the home, on leash, and with other dogs, she is scared of human strangers, especially masculine presenting people, and will need a strong advocate to help keep her safe. If you're looking for a great addition to your calm and cozy life with unconditional love to give, Stella is the gal for you. Stella would do best living with queer folks, a home without cis-gendered men, without cats, and without small children. ATTRIBUTES: Stella has lived in foster with other dogs, but can not go to a home with kids, cats, or cis-gendered men. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
Jordon is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Sweet Jordon came to us from a Southern Virginia shelter. He is so sweet and loves to play. He grew up with three brothers and he does well with dogs! He does use his big paws sometimes ss is learning his size but still a gentle giant (puppy). He has spent time crated for periods of the day, so he is no stranger to a crate or out of home work schedule. Great with dogs and people (and cats with some guidance as usual for a puppy) as per the shelter. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
We named her Promise because we had no more room on the transport to bring her and we told her that we would come back for her. We kept our word - and we are so glad we did. She had puppies at some point before she was dumped at the poor rural shelter, but she did not come with any of her puppies. This alone must have been awful for her to be separated from her pups. She was very shut down when we got her but now that she is in a foster home she is coming out of her shell and wants to play with the fosters other dogs. And she plays like a boxer which is so cute! Her foster mom says of Promise that 'she is super cute and friendly and just wants to be around me and my son.' She has very good house manners, ,does not chew, is great in a crate and is house broken. We listed older children because she seems scared of small children. We have told Promise that life will be very different from this point on she will have a home with someone who will love her and be kind to her. This is another promise we have made to this sweet dog. If you are interested in Promise, and helping us keep our promises to her, please let us know. Thank you for your interest in Promise! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=16323 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Promise, or to submit an online application. Story
This is princess Rosie who will be 4 in June. She was rescued back in 2019 from a rescue who was assisting rehoming her. I was told she was about 6 months at the time. She's been a joy and loves all the attention and cuddles you can give her. She loves my kids and is very protective. She also loves meeting new people and being the center of attention, She really is a sweet girl. Potty trained and will hang out in the house while you leave. She doesn't like the crate though! She’s chewed through 3-4 of them in the past but she does great now alone by herself. She loves walks and car rides (be careful those are her favorite words ;) She does okay on the leash, some pulling, but could use more training. She knows a few commands like sit and lay down, and paw. She loves tennis balls and stuffed animals to destroy. She loves to snuggle next to you and give you hugs when you come home. She is a spoiled little baby and deserves all the loving.
