Story
We are taking applications for Miss Juno. This sweet little wiggle butt wants to wiggle her way right into your heart and home. She is a spayed female boxer mix. She is up to date on vaccines & vetting. She is very playful, with a quiet cuddly side. She is about 50 lbs, and aprox 1.5 years old. Gets along with other pups and is good around kids. She is in training currently, to learn how to harness her boundless energy & gain some leash manners. She knows some basic commands & is working on “leave it”. Her foster mom has had nothing but wonderful things to say about her. She is crate trained and house broken. She would be your perfect adventure dog, as she likes going for a swim in the river. If you are interested in this fantastic girl, please fill out an application on our website.

Story
We'd like to re-introduce you to Winnie, a remarkable dog who's come a long way since we last introduced her a few months ago. If you remember she rescued by a Good Samaritan and had an an iliac fracture and MAJOR ear troubles. Thanks to the unwavering support of our incredible community, we were able to provide her with the necessary medical care, granting her the gift of a pain-free life through total ear canal ablation surgery she needed. Now, the time has come for us to find Winnie her forever home. At around 5-6 years old, Winnie is not just any dog; she's a TOTAL SWEETHEART! She has been living with a foster and has shown great compatibility with their other large dog, Scottie. Day by day, she's making huge strides in meeting new people. Instead of being terrified, she now greets strangers with excitement. Her transformation is nothing short of inspiring. Winnie does reasonably well around cats but may need some separation when left alone. She's learning to understand them, but she’s not aggressive towards them. When it comes to children, we believe she would thrive best in a home with older kids, as her playfulness can be exuberant, akin to a bull in a China shop. She also can be a bit mouthy when she wants attention, but it’s more gentle and nothing major. For Winnie, a fenced-in yard would be ideal, she would thrive in an active home and one that can continue nurturing her newfound confidence. Is that with you? If you are interested in potentially meeting Winnie, send us a message!

Story
Say hello to Little Dough Boy! He is a 1 year old Boxer mix who weighs about 48 pounds. Little Dough Boy is an energetic and social boy who is always ready to play. He is still a young dog, so he has plenty of energy and would love someone that can match his gregarious personality! He is your typical puppy who can be mouthy and rowdy at times, but once he settles down, he is the ultimate snuggle bug. Little Dough Boy loves his food and his toys and doesn`t like sharing, so he needs an adopter that can respect his space when he has his treasures.Little Dough Boy is sensitive with new dogs and can be very unsure at first, so he would need time and space when he meets a new dog to see if they`d be a good fit. He cannot live with cats, so he wouldn`t mind one bit being the only animal in his forever home so he can soak up all of your love and affection. If there are kids in his forever home, they would need to be ages 13 and older so they can handle him rambunctious personality. If Little Dough boy sounds like the pup for you, stop in today to meet this bundle of energy!

Story
Meet Pip-squeak, both outgoing with her friend`s, but shy when on new adventures and will look at you for guidance. One Dog`s Day Out person said, `When she encounters new objects or sounds on the walk, it helps her if you are patient and walk up to the object so she knows it`s safe. Then let her explore it.` We believe she is housebroken, knows sit and down, loves to play tug-o-war and cuddling. On a staycation, she was described as being housebroken, active, loving to cuddle and knows her basic commands. She would like to be an only pet and kids 8+Or as a staff member summed up, `She`s a good dog`.

Story
Meet Revere, a 5 1/2-year-old Boxer/Terrie mix who’s ready to charm his way into your heart with his lovable quirks and resilience. Revere’s journey to us began after a summer thunderstorm, leaving him in need of medical care. Underweight and nursing a fractured right rear leg, this courageous adventurer has proven himself to be a fighter with a goofy grin that’s impossible to resist. Revere also sports a distinctive head tilt, which has been diagnosed as idiopathic meaning its exact cause remains a mystery. Despite extensive testing ruling out common issues like ear infections and vestibular disease, this adorable tilt has become Revere’s signature look. It doesn’t slow him down one bit; instead, it only adds to his charm! He may not look like your average dog due to his special needs, but this spirited guy takes it all in stride and is one of the happiest dogs in our care & a staff and volunteer favorite! During a foster break from the shelter, his foster mom reported that he was housebroken, loved to cuddle with the kids and play with his stuffies! Revere’s ideal home will be one that understands his unique needs. His medical conditions may require ongoing care, and we’re happy to discuss his journey in detail with you. He’s an affectionate, people-loving pup who thrives on attention and praise. While his heart is big, his social skills with other dogs aren’t quite there yet, so Revere will need to be the only pet in the home. This leggy, slanty walker is ready to share his zest for life with a family that will embrace his quirks and provide him the love and care he deserves. Are you ready to give Revere his happily ever after? Reach out to us to learn more about this one-of-a-kind guy! Please note Revere currently resides in a foster home and is not available for same day meet and greets. If interested in learning more about Revere and the adoption process, please email the shelter foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov today!
