We are working with the North Augusta Pound, FONAA, and Project Freedom Ride to save 6 dogs from the pound who are on death row. Our team has been working with the North Augusta Pound for over a year to help them remain no-kill. Unfortunately, September will mark the end of that streak. We are located in Willoughby, OH. Adopters will have to meet to pick up their dog. Out-of-State adopters must be able to meet to pick up the dog or the rescue can provide transport to nearby states at .75 per mile. (We do not adopt to Canada any longer.) If adopters are able to pick up the dog from SC after approval, they are strongly encouraged to do so - we can stall euth dates for pending pickup. Pound will not adopt out-of-state unless there is rescue backing. Project Freedom Ride will transport 10/2 if we find committed adopters by 9/24 ABOUT THE DOG: Lexi personality is another sweet dog with medium energy. Gets along with others without issues. Was an owner surrender and has some training. She is a recent intake but is given no time to find safety. 1-2 Year Female 40+ Pounds Dog Friendly Kid Friendly Can't cat test at this time. We'd like to re-introduce you to Winnie, a remarkable dog who's come a long way since we last introduced her a few months ago. If you remember she rescued by a Good Samaritan and had an an iliac fracture and MAJOR ear troubles. Thanks to the unwavering support of our incredible community, we were able to provide her with the necessary medical care, granting her the gift of a pain-free life through total ear canal ablation surgery she needed. Now, the time has come for us to find Winnie her forever home. At around 5-6 years old, Winnie is not just any dog; she's a TOTAL SWEETHEART! She has been living with a foster and has shown great compatibility with their other large dog, Scottie. Day by day, she's making huge strides in meeting new people. Instead of being terrified, she now greets strangers with excitement. Her transformation is nothing short of inspiring. Winnie does reasonably well around cats but may need some separation when left alone. She's learning to understand them, but she’s not aggressive towards them. When it comes to children, we believe she would thrive best in a home with older kids, as her playfulness can be exuberant, akin to a bull in a China shop. She also can be a bit mouthy when she wants attention, but it’s more gentle and nothing major. For Winnie, a fenced-in yard would be ideal, she would thrive in an active home and one that can continue nurturing her newfound confidence. Is that with you?
