Athena's owner has developed medical concerns that is interfering with his ability to care for her anymore. She is a very sweet, affectionate dog with very high energy levels. Athena has not received much training from her previous owner and needs to learn to walk on a leash without pulling. She is currently crated during the day but plays well with a senior dog in the evening. Athena will have to be surrendered if we can't find a safe home for her quickly.

Meet Matcha aka matcha latte Age: estimated around 1-2 years old. Weight: 40 lbs. Breed: boxer mix. This sweet girl was found abandoned in a car with another dog and was dangerously underweight. Now Matcha is a healthy, medium sized dog and she’s learning what a good life looks like. Even with her rough start to life she’s still a very happy, loving, carefree pup. Matcha loves playing with other dogs and snuggling on the couch (especially under the blanket). She’s obsessed with all toys but anything with a squeaker is her favorite. Toys don’t last long with her so be prepared to clean up fluff but she will leave your shoes/pillows alone. We’re learning that Matcha does have some fear based reactivity when meeting new people but once you earn her trust she’s a total love bug so say goodbye to personal space. She tends to be more fearful of men which leads us to believe she may have previously been abused but if you give her some time, treats or a new toy she’ll eventually be your best friend. Matcha doesn’t love the vet although I can’t say I blame her. Previous appointments have required muzzling, calming meds and mild sedation but it’s possible she could overcome her fears with time. Matcha is crate trained and potty trained but she does think baby gates are her own personal hurdles to jump. Matcha would probably do best in a home with older children due to some of her puppy tendencies and she would like another dog but one isn’t required. This 5 year old foster dog has easily won my heart over, and she'll do the same to yours. She is doing great with housetraining and crate training. I have left her unattended in the house (no crate) and she does well but will get in the garbage or steal food off the counter. She loves toys, and usually has to grab one to take outside during potty/playtime. She loves to play fetch in the fenced in yard, but can easily jump over a 4ft fence, so I am asking for a 6 foot fence, or someone that loves outdoor activities. She loves curling up in a little ball on her cat bed on the couch or snuggling at bedtime. She lives with another foster dog and does good. She's very receptive to commands, and does ok on the leash, but does pull a bit. A special harness seems to greatly help with that! We do not know how she is with cats!!! The incredibly gorgeous 2-3 year old Nova is still waiting for a loving home and family. She was recently described as a typical loving pitty by her trainer, and I agree! She weighs about 65, and is one of those dogs that somehow ends up in your lap on the couch in some pretty weird positions, and has fallen off the couch more than Nova would like you to know. LOL. She has done great in the home, but when alone I still crate her. She has a blast with walks or hikes, and wears a special harness that helps her from pulling as much. She. Is. Strong. I would love a 6 foot fence for her, as she LOVES running in the backyard full speed when she gets the zoomies. She also plays fetch and loves toys, and interactive games for treats. She will be great as an only dog, or I will request a proper meet and greet if you have a dog already. Cats??? NO CLUE!!!
