With a name like Cyrus, you know he has to be Great! This boy came into the kennel after being found abandoned in a field. He was extremely skinny and dirty, but he did not let that dampen his spirit! Cyrus won over a lot of hearts in his first couple weeks, and staff and volunteers were in awe at just how resilient this sweet boy was. He`s a fighter! One of our volunteers decided to open up her home so Cyrus could have a soft place to crash while he grew healthier and put on some much needed weight. Here’s what she has to say about him:“Cyrus is a total sweetheart & LOVES to be with his people. Although he likes to follow me everywhere I go, his absolute favorite person in the house is my 10 year old daughter. Cyrus lives for pets, cuddles and treats— he`ll make sure he smothers you in kisses to let you know how grateful he is for your love and attention. He knows when it’s bedtime and goes right in his crate. He’s as quiet as a mouse all night. Cyrus has recently become acquainted with the two resident dogs and he loves them! He would probably love a playful fur brother or sister, but a household where he’s the (spoiled) only child would make him just as happy. He’s handsome as ever and is looking for someone to love him as much as he will love them.` Cyrus is estimated to be about 1 year old. Meet Revere, a 5 1/2-year-old Boxer/Terrie mix who’s ready to charm his way into your heart with his lovable quirks and resilience. Revere’s journey to us began after a summer thunderstorm, leaving him in need of medical care. Underweight and nursing a fractured right rear leg, this courageous adventurer has proven himself to be a fighter with a goofy grin that’s impossible to resist. Revere also sports a distinctive head tilt, which has been diagnosed as idiopathic meaning its exact cause remains a mystery. Despite extensive testing ruling out common issues like ear infections and vestibular disease, this adorable tilt has become Revere’s signature look. It doesn’t slow him down one bit; instead, it only adds to his charm! He may not look like your average dog due to his special needs, but this spirited guy takes it all in stride and is one of the happiest dogs in our care & a staff and volunteer favorite! During a foster break from the shelter, his foster mom reported that he was housebroken, loved to cuddle with the kids and play with his stuffies! Revere’s ideal home will be one that understands his unique needs. His medical conditions may require ongoing care, and we’re happy to discuss his journey in detail with you. He’s an affectionate, people-loving pup who thrives on attention and praise. While his heart is big, his social skills with other dogs aren’t quite there yet, so Revere will need to be the only pet in the home. This leggy, slanty walker is ready to share his zest for life with a family that will embrace his quirks and provide him the love and care he deserves.
