Story
Meet Pip-squeak, both outgoing with her friend`s, but shy when on new adventures and will look at you for guidance. One Dog`s Day Out person said, `When she encounters new objects or sounds on the walk, it helps her if you are patient and walk up to the object, so she knows it`s safe. Then let her explore it.` We believe she is housebroken, knows sit and down, loves to play tug-o-war and cuddling. On a staycation, she was described as being housebroken, active, loving to cuddle and knows her basic commands. She would like to be an only pet and kids 8+. Or as a staff member summed up, `She`s a good dog`.Interested in learning more about Pip-Squeak and the adoption process? Please email the shelter foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov Please note: Pip-Squeak currently resides in a foster home and is not available for same day meet and greets.

Story
Jovie is a 3-year-old petite Boxer mix weighing just 30 pounds, and she’s looking for a patient foster home to help her build confidence outside of the shelter environment. Life in the kennel has been tough for Jovie, but when she gets outside, we see a completely different dog. On walks and during time away from the noise, she begins to relax and show her sweet, thoughtful personality. Jovie tends to feel more comfortable with women at first, but she has started recognizing some of her favorite male volunteers and is slowly letting her guard down with them too. Jovie is a smart and observant girl who looks to her handler for reassurance when she encounters new things. With time, patience, and consistency, she blossoms and begins to trust. She enjoys playgroup at the shelter and loves being part of the fun. Jovie does best when she can be a bit “in charge” of the play, so a laid-back resident dog would be the best match. Because she enjoys a spirited game of chase, she is seeking a home without small animals. Jovie would thrive in an adult-only foster home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. A calm environment will help her feel safe, learn to trust, and show more of the affectionate companion we know she can be.Opening your home to Jovie could truly change her life. Interested in learning more about Jovie and her foster needs? Please email the foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov today. Please note: Meet and greets with Jovie must be scheduled in advance through email.

Story
Meet Bipsey, a 6-month-old Boxer mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This handsome boy is truly something special—because despite the challenges he faces, his spirit continues to shine bright. Bipsey has been diagnosed with Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy (HOD), a condition that affects the long bones of growing dogs and can cause swelling and inflammation. Thanks to the dedicated care of the CCAS medical team, his condition is being well managed. Now, Bipsey is ready for the next important step in his journey: spending time in a home where he can relax, learn, and experience what it truly means to just be a dog. His ideal foster home would include children ages 9 and older who can understand and respect his physical limitations. While Bipsey does have medical needs, don’t let that fool you—he’s still a playful, social pup who can hold his own! He tends to do best with dogs his size or larger and is looking for a home without cats. Bipsey’s medical care will continue to be supported by the shelter’s veterinary team, and his foster family should be prepared to bring him in for occasional check-ups and appointments. To learn more about Bipsey and his foster needs, please email the foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov today. Please note: Meet and greets with Bipsey must be scheduled through shelter staff.

Story
TO MEET ME, please complete a Pre-Adoption Application through our website: https://www.foreverfriendsfoundation.org/info/adoption (If you rent, you will be required to provide a copy of your lease agreement showing that you are allowed pets.)  ** SLIM JIM ** Whatever happened that left Slim Jim starving and tied to a fence in a snowstorm did not dim his joy for life.  He loves people – toys – other dogs – food and CAR RIDES!!! Jimmy is completely housebroken.  He is good in a crate and has had no accidents when foster mom is at work.  He sometimes makes dinosaur noises for the first few minutes at bedtime, but then sleeps through the night quietly.  He likes chew sticks or a stuffed Kong when at home alone. Jimmy is amazing with other dogs (after the proper introduction of course).  Other dogs can provoke or take food and he does not react.  He can get too excited and try to play too rough, but settles down if you stop the game.   Jimmy would prefer living with other dogs to entertain him Jimmy is a BIG fan of chew toys and tearing the squeaker from stuffies.  He is always carrying something around.  He will lay in the sunshine chewing on sticks or toys for an hour.  He will need guidance that not everything is his to chew up.  Initially Jimmy was afraid of cats but that was early on.  He backs away with respect if they tell him no so would likely do well with them.   We are not 100% certain about children but he wags his tail when he sees them at the park.  His excitement is his biggest challenge so perhaps older children would be a better fit.     Jimmy loves outings, but is strong on leash initially.  Now that he is healthy he needs more work on obedience.  He has not been reactive seeing dogs, people, or bicycles on the trail.  Regular exercise will be very important.  A yard and a buddy would be awesome for him!   Jimmy is 45 pounds, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.   This handsome boy does not have an ounce of meanness in his body.  He has been through a lot and remains kinder than kind.  With time and training he will be the best friend someone could ever have.                   Neutered – microchipped – heartworm negative – fully vaccinated                                                Tax deductible Adoption Fee $300                    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 30, 2026, 3:46 pm
