Story
Meet Bipsey, a vibrant 8 ½-month-old Boxer/Pit Bull mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This handsome boy has grown up with us at CCAS and has already faced more challenges than most dogs do in a lifetime, yet his resilient spirit continues to shine bright. Bipsey was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy (HOD)—a condition affecting the long bones of growing dogs that causes swelling and inflammation. Thanks to the dedicated care of our medical team, his needs have been well managed, and he has recovered wonderfully from a necessary surgical procedure. Now, Bipsey is ready for the most important step in his journey: finding a patient forever home where he can relax, learn, and experience what it truly means to just be a beloved family pet.Don`t let his medical history fool you; while he does have some minor physical limitations, Bipsey is still a playful, social pup who can easily hold his own! His ideal home will include children aged 9 and older who can understand and respect his physical boundaries. When socializing with other animals, he tends to do best with dogs his size or larger, needs a home without cats, and is a fantastic car companion who rides beautifully. Bipsey is still actively working on his canine manners, so both his human adopters and any resident dogs will need to offer him a bit of patience as he learns. When his softer side comes out, he is incredibly attentive, affectionate, and deeply rewarding to be around. You are welcome to contact our team for more information on HOD.

He does best with other playful, high-energy dogs of a similar size and would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his excitement. Good with kids, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Dog sitting and owner never returned. This has been difficult because we are not a pet family. The dog housed in garage, he seems to prefer to be outside. He does not like the basement and will not go down there. He is playful and I little clumsy. He has not shown any aggressive behavior towards any of our guest including children. He has gotten out of the yard a couple times, once he was sitting at bus stop with kids he did not know. When people walk dogs by the fence he runs back and forth barking. I think he is a sweet dog but we can't manage him. We tried to get him in a no kill shelter and was not able to. We have many family events at the home with different people and again no issues

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
This sweet little wiggle butt wants to wiggle her way right into your heart and home. She is a spayed female boxer mix. She is up to date on vaccines & vetting. She is very playful, with a quiet cuddly side. She is about 50 lbs, and aprox 2 years old. Gets along with other pups, with the proper intro, and is good around kids over 5 or 6 years old. Prefers no feline friends in the home. She is learning how to harness her boundless energy & gain some leash manners. She knows basic commands, and is incredibly food motivated. She is crate trained and house broken. She would be your perfect adventure dog! She likes going for a swim in the river, a hike in the woods, or a long distance jog.Unfortunately with a lack of foster homes, she is stuck in the kennels at our vet office, and really wants you to break her out of there!

Story
Meet Puffin!Puffin is a 5 year old Boxer mix weighing around 58 pounds, with a sweet and affectionate personality. He enjoys spending time with his people and does best when he can build strong, trusting bonds. Once he feels comfortable, Puffin loves attention and will happily be by your side, soaking up affection and companionship.Because Puffin can be sensitive at times, he would thrive in a home with children 13 years and older who can understand his needs and respect his boundaries. He is not able to live with other dogs, and he does not show potential to live with cats, so a single-dog household would be the best fit for him.Puffin is looking for a calm, consistent home where he can feel safe and supported. With patience, understanding, and plenty of love, he will be a loyal, devoted companion who brings warmth and heart to his forever family.

Story
Meet Dickens, a handsome 1 year-old Pit-Bull Terrier who is officially searching for his `forever chapter.` If you are looking for a loyal, smart, and athletic partner to join your daily adventures, Dickens is the perfect match. At his young age, he is a `blank canvas` with a fantastic foundation, ready to grow into the dog of your dreams under the guidance of a dedicated leader. He is already a dream on a leash, making him the ultimate hiking partner; he loves long treks and frequently `checks in` with his human to ensure you are both enjoying the journey. This boy is as bright as they come, showing an eager-to-please attitude and a high level of attentiveness. While he listens well and genuinely wants to do the right thing, Dickens is a sensitive soul who flourishes with positive reinforcement and gentle structure rather than heavy-handed corrections. To truly shine, Dickens is seeking a specific environment where he can be the center of attention. He is looking for a home as an only pet, allowing him to soak up 100% of your affection and build an unbreakable bond. Because an exhausted Dickens is a happy Dickens, he requires an active lifestyle filled with physical exercise and mental stimulation, such as puzzle toys and training sessions. He is best suited for a household with older children who can respect his space and help reinforce his manners as he continues to learn. While Dickens has enjoyed foster breaks and understands the basics of home living, he will need a patient family willing to give him time to settle into a new routine.

Story
Meet Opal, a sweet and laid-back lady who is ready to find a calm and loving forever home. She enjoys spending her days roaming the yards, taking in all the interesting scents around her, and soaking up the world at her own pace. In playgroup, she is more of an observer, content to hang back and politely watch the action rather than join the chaos. She has wonderful manners with everyone she meets and carries herself like a true little lady. The shelter environment has made her a bit nervous, but beneath that shy exterior is a personality just waiting to shine through once she feels safe and comfortable. Because she can be timid in new environments, she would do best in a home with children 12 and up who can respect her space and allow her time to settle in. Come meet this gentle sweetheart today and help her blossom into the confident companion she’s meant to be!
