He’s been in foster care for two years, and during that time he’s shown himself to be an incredibly loving, well-mannered, and loyal companion. Like many thoughtful dogs, Paxton can take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through. It doesn’t take long at all for him to relax and show just how loving and loyal he is. Paxton is off-leash trained using a remote collar and does beautifully with structure and guidance. He’s house trained, happily crates (his crate is his safe space), and settles well in the home. He’s the kind of dog who thrives on routine but also knows how to relax and just be near his people. One of Paxton’s favorite things? Other dogs. He absolutely loves canine companionship and would do best in a home with another friendly dog to play with and learn from. Patsy was graded as an A+ cuddle buddy, and you'll be tempted to spend all day petting her luscious rolls. She absolutely belongs stretched out on a plush spot on the couch! Patsy is also a silly, spunky, and playful gal who is full of life and entertaining charm. She enjoys her walks and play time. Patsy has also been playfully social with other dogs and she has a fun time wiggling around the yards with a favorite toy (and showing off her buns!) She's a great sport for trying out all sorts of new activities and adventures, and her earnestly enthusiastic, clumsy approach to life is sure to bring a smile to your face. When she's excited, she can get a little jumpy and exuberant and with this and her size, she would do best in a home with older kids and adults. It doesn't take her too much activity before she's ready to settle back down and snuggle. Patsy is also a smarty who knows sit and down, and she listens well. Martha, my dear! Martha is a sweet, mild-mannered pup who can be summed up as a `very nice lady.` She is a lovable doll from her luxurious neck rolls to her wiggly nubbin tail. At around 5 years young, Martha has the mature spirit and manners of an adult but still enjoys getting in her daily activity - so she will be happy to join you as a snuggle buddy on the couch just as much as she`ll be glad to help you get your steps in on walks. Martha is curious and likes to explore on walks. She is a gentle, lower-key gal though can be strong on leash at times. She can also entertain herself by playing with a toy for a while, before she`s ready to chill out. Martha seems like a mama dog who has evidently had a few litters in her life, but she`s ready for her turn to be pampered, and she is probably missing the comforts of a home. Martha consistently keeps her kennel clean, so we believe she is housebroken. She also sits very well when asked, holding still as though she is a professional. She is overall a good listener, and loves her treats. With other dogs in play group, she was playful with a softer socialization style. She sometimes perks up around other dogs, and with her little tail stub wagging excitedly. Martha tested positive for heartworm when she arrived at the kennel, but she doesn`t want to let this stop her from living life to the fullest. Fortunately, heartworm is treatable and cost is covered thanks to Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland.
