Story
Meet Ava, the sweetest big mixed-breed around! This energetic girl is a true athlete who loves nothing more than running, jumping, and playing a game of fetch. When she`s not tearing across the yard, you can find her engaged in her favorite quirky hobby: chewing on and carrying around large rocks. After a long day of play, Ava transforms into a world-class snuggler and is happiest when cuddling up close. Ava is a sunshine dog through and through; she loves warm weather and avoids the cold. You`ll definitely want to bring her inside when the dark clouds roll in, as she absolutely hates getting rained on! She also loves treats of almost any kind, but as if she couldn`t get any quirkier, she does NOT like peanut butter! If you`re wondering what dog doesn`t like peanut butter, that would be Ava. She is a one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime type of dog. Ava is a fantastic family dog who is great with kids of all ages. Ava has met other dogs in playgroup here at the shelter and has done well, but can be selective about her dog friends, mostly preferring dogs who give her space and time to warm up. If you have children or dogs at home, we encourage you to bring them with you to the shelter for a meet-and-greet if you are interested in adopting. Ava has some basic training, but may need a refresher after her time in the shelter and entering a new home. She is eager to please and has a lot of energy to spend! She is also a powerful chewer, so she needs toys that are tough and can`t be easily destroyed. If this larger-than-life girl sounds like the perfect pup for your family, come visit her at SPCA Cincinnati today!

Story
Rudy is a super sweet boxer mix! He loves bones, to run and play, and will be your best friend. He loves playing with other dogs so would do well with at least one other dog in the house. He has been trained with a dog trainer, he listens really well, and responds well to his e collar. He turned a year old on December 18, 2025. He is about 60 pounds, but shouldn't grow much more. He would do well in a home with a fenced in yard or someone who can walk him everyday. He also loves going to doggie daycare. He is still young and has a lot of energy, but is a lot of fun. He is potty and crate trained. Is great with kids too. He deserves a home that can give him a lot of attention and space to run.

Story
Meet Gus and Jack! These two are brothers/littermates/twins, and they are very bonded. These two have been together their entire five years on earth so I’d really like to keep it that way if at all possible for their mental health! They are 5 yr old coonhound/boxer mixes originally adopted from a cat shelter in southern Kentucky about 4 years ago. I am a newly single mom of multiple and getting out of an unhealthy situation. I wish I could keep these good boys but unfortunately I’ve ended up in a place where I’m not permitted to have them, and to be honest I am struggling to make ends meet so I have to do what’s right for them. I want these boys to go to a good, stable home, preferably with a yard. I’m on the east side of the Cincinnati area and can meet up with you to meet them anywhere in the Cincinnati area! Feel free to text anytime at 513-375-6474.

Story
I'm currently in a foster home and would love to meet you! I believe life is best enjoyed at a comfortable pace, with a little breeze in your fur and a lot of love in your heart. My idea of a perfect day? A nice car ride with my head out the window (ears flapping, tongue out, living my best life), followed by a long, luxurious nap on my couch. I enjoy a good walk, a bit of play, but I'm equally happy just hanging out, keeping an eye on things from my favorite soft spot. Think of me as the chill supervisor of household happiness. I adore my people and love being close to them. If you're looking for a loyal, relaxed companion who knows how to appreciate the little things (and rule the house with quiet grace), I'm your girl.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾🥧 Well butter my biscuit… meet Moon Pie! 🥧🐾 (2 Years • 70 lbs • Male • Southern Charm Included) Yes, Moon Pie — like the sweet Southern treat AND like Sheldon’s Meemaw lovingly calls him on The Big Bang Theory. Because let’s be honest… when you’re this lovable, you deserve a name that sounds like it should come with a hug and a glass of sweet tea. Moon Pie is a 70-pound hunk of black-and-white perfection with the kind of personality that makes people say, “How is he not already adopted?” He’s got the looks, the manners, and the résumé to back it all up — truly the full snack-size package. 📋 Moon Pie’s Very Impressive Resume (Typed, Proofread, No Typos): ✔️ Housebroken — your rugs are safe ✔️ Crate trained & doggy-door certified (he’s basically tech-savvy) ✔️ Fantastic with other dogs, especially medium-to-large buddies ✔️ Great with older kids — playful but polite, like a Southern gentleman ✔️ Walks beautifully on leash — no dragging, no nonsense... all class ✔️ Up to date on vaccines & rabies ✔️ Neutered and emotionally ready for commitment At 2 years old, Moon Pie has mastered the art of balance: he can zoom, splash, play, and clown around like a pro… then immediately switch to Gentleman Mode™ when it’s time for a walk or some quality couch time. He reads the room well, respects boundaries with other dogs, and brings joyful energy without chaos — think fun, not frantic. He loves people, thrives on companionship, and truly wants to be part of a family. Underneath that handsome exterior is a soft-hearted, loyal boy who’s just waiting for someone to look at him and say, “Yep. You’re my Moon Pie.” So if you’re searching for a dog who’s happy, solid, affectionate, and has the kind of Southern name that implies unconditional love and sweetness galore — this is your guy. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and bring home Moon Pie — the kind of dog Meemaw herself would approve of. 🖤🤍🥧🐾

Story
Hi, I’m George (Georgie)!🐶✨ Full-time good boy. Part-time toddler wrangler. I’m a professional napper, expert snack detector, and self-appointed neighborhood squirrel patrol. I live with my 2.5-year-old foster human—he’s sticky, loud, and a little clumsy, but I love him. We’re best friends. I help him eat things he drops (on purpose, I swear), and he helps me sneak onto the furniture. It’s a beautiful partnership. My hobbies include: 🦴 Chewing things that were definitely not meant for chewing 🚨 Barking at absolutely nothing 💤 Dramatic flops in high-traffic areas 💖 Following my tiny human like a shadow with a tail I take my job as emotional support floof very seriously. If you sit down, I will sit on you. If you’re eating, I will stare into your soul. And if you ask “Who’s a good boy?”—spoiler alert: it’s me. Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Rosie is back from foster and here’s the plot twist: she knows how to chill. While in foster care, Rosie showed a calm demeanor at home and settled in nicely once she had a routine.Out and about, she still has a fun, active side. Rosie enjoys walks, loves being outside, and is food motivated. She knows sit and wait and would enjoy continued training to keep her brain busy.Rosie does well with other dogs. She has a rough-and-rowdy play style and can be selective. In a multi-dog home, she will need to be fed separately. Cats are unknown. Kids should come along to meet her first.Best of both worlds: adventure when you want it, calm when it counts.Available at SPCA CincinnatiStop in any day, Monday through Sunday, 12:00 PM–6:00 PM.

She’s basically the Beyoncé of the shelter, with one rule — Respect the ears and head, People. She knows “sit,” loves snacks, and thrives when life is a balance of play, training, and a little decompression time. She’s sweet as sugar, but she’ll tell you when she needs her space (divas gotta diva).Come meet her at SPCA Cincinnati — and don’t forget to bring the whole family (kids and dogs included) for a proper introduction. If you’re not here for Puppup, then what are you even doing with your life?
