Story
Meet Ava, the sweetest big mixed-breed around! This energetic girl is a true athlete who loves nothing more than running, jumping, and playing a game of fetch. When she`s not tearing across the yard, you can find her engaged in her favorite quirky hobby: chewing on and carrying around large rocks. After a long day of play, Ava transforms into a world-class snuggler and is happiest when cuddling up close. Ava is a sunshine dog through and through; she loves warm weather and avoids the cold. You`ll definitely want to bring her inside when the dark clouds roll in, as she absolutely hates getting rained on! She also loves treats of almost any kind, but as if she couldn`t get any quirkier, she does NOT like peanut butter! If you`re wondering what dog doesn`t like peanut butter, that would be Ava. She is a one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime type of dog. Ava is a fantastic family dog who is great with kids of all ages. Ava has met other dogs in playgroup here at the shelter and has done well, but can be selective about her dog friends, mostly preferring dogs who give her space and time to warm up. If you have children or dogs at home, we encourage you to bring them with you to the shelter for a meet-and-greet if you are interested in adopting. Ava has some basic training, but may need a refresher after her time in the shelter and entering a new home. She is eager to please and has a lot of energy to spend! She is also a powerful chewer, so she needs toys that are tough and can`t be easily destroyed. If this larger-than-life girl sounds like the perfect pup for your family, come visit her at SPCA Cincinnati today!

Meet Pagani! She loves kids, other dogs, ALL humans, and is an expert at snuggling! Sometimes while she is sleeping beside you she will start snoring; this little snorty snore is sure to make you smile.  Pagani currently lives in a foster home with cats; they are assertive and put her in her place, she may do best with that kind of cat. She loves to go on car rides and does well out in public, because she  just loves people.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   March 7, 2026, 9:24 am

I firmly believe I'm a lap dog... regardless of my actual size. If there's a lap available, I will find it, sit on it, and claim it as mine. When I'm not perfecting my cuddle technique, I love being outside, taking in all the smells like it's my full-time job. Every walk is an adventure, and I plan to sniff absolutely everything. If you're looking for a loving, outdoorsy best friend who thinks personal space is optional, I'm your guy.

Story
I love treats and will happily show off my beautiful sit when snacks are involved. I'm a super sweet pup who absolutely melts for pets and attention. My favorite place in the world is right next to my people, I'm a proud Velcro dog, which means I just want to be wherever you are. Whether we're relaxing, getting some cuddles in, or I'm simply following you from room to room, being close to my humans is what makes me happiest. I can't wait to find the ones I get to stick with forever.
