Story
Ruthie is a 2-year-old, 60-lb Boxer mix with a gentle soul and a brilliant mind. Before coming into rescue, Ruthie lived on her own for at least 6 months, skillfully evading capture, multiple trapping attempts, and surviving in an industrial area of town. Fed by kind mechanics and workers, she learned how to stay safe, avoid danger, and always show up for food — and that intelligence still shines through today. After a dramatic capture, Ruthie has been in a foster home, where she’s proven to be a very polite houseguest. She is fully house-trained and, even at her scariest moments, has never shown a hint of aggression — no growling, no raised lips, just fear. Ruthie is shy and deeply cautious with people, but she is sweet, gentle, and incredibly observant. We would not be surprised if Ruthie spent some of her life in someone’s home.  This brainy girl reads the room like a pro. She knows when a human might approach and will quietly skedaddle to keep herself feeling safe. While she’s still very nervous about leashes and handling, she allows most people to gently scratch her muzzle, and she’s learning — slowly but surely — that human touch isn’t such a bad thing. Watching her progress has been incredibly rewarding, especially as she’s started to enjoy ear scratches and soft affection from her foster mom. Ruthie is a great pack dog. She does beautifully with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and enjoys playful wrestling with dogs her size, but doesn’t demand play.  She happily coexists with the resident Chihuahua in her foster home. Ruthie is calm and content indoors and also enjoys a daily visit to the dog park. She’s a quiet presence who’s perfectly happy lounging on a chair, listening to her foster mom’s Zoom calls, and soaking in the safety of home life. At home, Ruthie is her foster mom’s quiet shadow. She sleeps in her room, wiggles with excitement when she comes home, follows her around the dog park — and yet may still hop off her bed and slip away if that same foster mom walks toward her for a pet. With Ruthie, trust is built in tiny, meaningful moments, and every day brings progress. Because of her history, Ruthie is a high flight-risk dog, especially in the early days. She will need a very committed adopter with a securely fenced yard, experience with fearful or flight-risk dogs, and a willingness to use safety tools like GPS collars, double leashes, and secure handling. Strength matters too — this is a 60-lb girl who needs someone confident and prepared. Ruthie has been around children at the dog park and treats them like little adults — with polite, reserved hesitation. She is food-motivated, sweet, and incredibly smart. With patience, structure, and time, she has all the makings of a truly special companion. Ruthie is one of those dogs who, with the right adopter and a few committed months of trust-building, will become a dream dog. Watching her finally relax, feel safe, and just be a dog has been an absolute privilege — and we can’t wait to see her find the forever home she deserves. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 22, 2026, 1:03 am

Story
Autumn is ready to travel to a community that will truly cherish her as a family member. She is currently in Oklahoma at our rescue. Because we want her transition to be as smooth as possible, we arrange direct-to-adopter transport to specific cities (listed below!). Adoptions are finalized in advance so that Autumn can hop off the transport and right into your waiting arms. We stand by our pups for life. In the rare event it isn't a perfect match, Autumn is never without a safety net; she will simply return to our care in Oklahoma on the next available transport until her perfect home is found. Meet Autumn! Age: 6 Months Weight: 26 lbs (Current weight as of July 15, Estimated adult weight: 40-60 lbs) Breed Mix: Possible Australian Shepherd & Boxer mix (her brother looks like an Aussie mix) Why We Love Autumn Fall in love with Autumn! This sweet girl is a gorgeous blend of charm, intelligence, and puppy playfulness. Autumn is as beautiful on the outside as she is lovable on the inside. Autumn is a friendly, outgoing puppy who warms up to everyone she meets. She adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Thanks to her young age and adaptable nature, she should adjust seamlessly to a home with kids and can easily learn to respect dog-savvy cats. Shes at the absolute best age to form a tight bond with her new family! Home Manners & Training Autumn has been staying at our rescue building, which has given her a fantastic head start on routine! She is comfortable in her crate and is doing great with house training habits—she heads right outside and goes potty immediately when let out. While she hasn't had formal leash or obedience training yet, her shepherd roots mean she is a clever little girl who will love learning new things. With a few positive reinforcement sessions, routine, and plenty of puppy treats, she will master her manners in no time. Are you Autumn's perfect match? Autumn is ready to turn a new leaf and start her next big chapter in a loving forever home. If you are ready for endless affection, fun training adventures, and a loyal shadow, Autumn is excited to meet you! Video of Autumn on July 7: https://youtube.com/shorts/SOBdfxbDk5U?is=U-i8byhXdo2scPUe Her adoption includes: Fully Vetted: Autumn is already spayed and up-to-date on all her essential vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPPx3, and Bordetella). Prevention: She has been dewormed and is kept on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Safety First: To ensure she is in tip-top shape for her new family, she will be microchipped and receive a fresh fecal exam and a certified Health Certificate. All performed within 10 days of her transport date. Adoption Details Autumn's adoption fee is $1,200. This fee is all-inclusive, covering her spay, all veterinary care listed above, and her seat on a professional transport service dedicated to getting her safely to your area. Story
If you would like to apply to take ANGEL home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Angel is one of the sweetest girls! While she has a sturdy build, she can melt hearts when she stares into your eyes and just craves petting and soft words. After a nap she usually gets a case of the zoomies that lasts for a minute or two. She likes to play but does not stay away from your feet very long as she races toward you full speed ahead and then sits at your feet, looking up with such expectation. Soft pets, especially under the chin and she would stay all day. Angel is totally crate trained and because of her leaning toward stealing things in the house, it would be a very good idea to keep her crated when a new owner is away from the house. She rarely, if ever, barks. Even when someone knocks on the door, she does not stir. So, if you are looking for someone to guard your house, this girl would welcome anyone --- family or stranger. This sweetheart has not had an easy start. It makes one wonder how she remained as wonderful as she is. This beauty is deserving of a very loving home that will offer her calmness, love, and safety.
