Story
A New Shelter & A New Hope: Meet Lyles.Lyles has spent nearly his entire life behind kennel bars. He entered his first shelter as a tiny puppy and was somehow overlooked for far too long. We brought him to our shelter for one reason: to give him the fresh start he deserves! Lyles is a gorgeous brindle boy who is EXTREMELY dog friendly—seriously, he’s a social superstar with other pups! While he’s a little slow to trust humans at first, he’s a `slow burn` worth waiting for. Once you win him over with head scratches, he’ll be your shadow. He’s already potty trained, obedient, and has perfect leash skills. He just needs a yard to play in and a couch to share. Let’s make sure this is the last shelter he ever sees.

Story
Goose was born in an animal shelter, and lived there for the first 7 months of his life. Goose is a very friendly and cuddly dog who loves to run. He is good with other dogs that he has a proper introduction to, and loves to play with them. He does have a rougher playing style, so he does best playing with a dog close to his size. He is good with children, and has not been tested around cats, but we believe because of his sweet demeanor he would be fine with a cat. Goose would do best in a home with a yard where he can run and expend his energy. He would also be best in a home with older children. He has never shown any signs of aggression towards people.

Story
** Please read to the end to learn how to adopt! Gus is an adorable and affectionate Boxer mix who is eager to find his forever home.  He has turned out to be THE best boy and is loved by everyone that meets him!   He is an intelligent dog who is good with other dogs and is loyal to those around him. This handsome boy has been fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and tested Negative for heartworms!!   He was about 62 pounds when rescued from the streets, and he is still thin.  We believe he is approximately 2 years old, maybe less.  He sometimes still urinates like a puppy and he's so curious about Everything... sneaks up on anything unfamiliar.  It's so cute to watch! Gus is house-trained and he knows 'sit.'  He takes treats very gently from your hand and will give you big kisses in return.  He's playful, but will chill with you on the couch, too ! He is good with other dogs and children.  He's an all-around great dog and has many years ahead to fill your life with love and fun!   If you're looking for a sweet and friendly dog, Gus is the one for you!    Please apply to Foster OR Adopt Gus by completing the online application you will find near his photos on our website,  www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org

Story
Meet Pepsi Pepsi is a 1.5-year-old boxer mix with a big heart and an even bigger devotion to her family. She was found as a stray while pregnant and went on to deliver nine puppies, proving herself to be an incredible, attentive, and loving mom. Her puppies are now 4 weeks old, starting to eat on their own, and some have already headed off to foster homes—so it’s finally time for Pepsi to start thinking about her future. At first, Pepsi was understandably protective of her babies, but once she settled in, her sweet personality truly began to shine. She has warmed up beautifully to staff and now has a few favorite people who are greeted with full-body wiggles, happy hops, and an enthusiastic tail that never stops moving.Pepsi has done well with other dogs and people in a home setting. She enjoys human companionship and is polite about waiting to go potty until she’s taken outside. At the shelter, she has done well in a privacy-fenced yard with no escape attempts, though she may try to explore if left unattended in less secure fencing—an adventurous boxer spirit at work! She is heartworm negative and will be spayed, with her cherry eye corrected, once her puppies are fully placed into foster care.Pepsi is a loving, resilient young dog who has given so much already. Now she’s ready for a home or rescue that will give her the chance to relax, play, and be someone’s baby for a change. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a joyful spirit and a soft heart, Pepsi may be your perfect match. This dog would greatly benefit from a foster home where they can continue to thrive and blossom.
