Meet Karaoke, the ultimate bundle of high-energy fun! This playful little dynamo absolutely loves wand toys and can jump and play for hours on end. With a personality that thrives in active homes, Karaoke enjoys being around both kids and other cats, making her the perfect fit for a lively family. While she’s still a bit shy and doesn’t always ask for attention, if you initiate playtime, she’s all in, ready to pounce and entertain. Karaoke likes to be held for a bit, but once she’s ready, she’ll wriggle free to get back to what she loves most—playing! She's nonstop fun and will bring endless joy to a household that can match her energy. Karaoke also has an adorable habit of curling up for naps on top of a large stuffed dinosaur, adding even more charm to her playful personality. After all that jumping and playing, she enjoys a cozy rest with her favorite plush companion. If you're looking for an active, fun-loving kitten who also knows how to relax in style, Karaoke is the one for you! Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. This cat is currently in a foster home. To meet this cat, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. www.thedancingcat.org/adoptApril 7, 2025, 3:48 pm

Story
Tai is friendly and cuddly. She doesn't like to get picked up but does like to sit on people's lap or belly. She likes belly rubs, neck/head/ear work, and back scratching - she likes petting just about everywhere reasonable. She does her own thing and sleeps in the sun during the day, does meow lightly for lunch/dinner, and is very quick to cuddle in bed at night. Tai does do laser, string, and mouse/self play when she's safely alone (from her brother cat, see below) and explores and moves well. I think she's probably fine with another animals that don't attack her - she hisses at her brother cat (because he tackles her) but also cleans him at night. Sometimes her lower lip is pouty and it looks really funny. To summarize, her brother cat is constantly harrasing her. Since Tai is the most normal and unambiguously cuddly of the two I figure it'd be easier to find a safe home for her. Tai and Henri were sister/brother cats trapped for spay/neuter & vet care in South Brooklyn in late 2016. I adoped both of them from a animal rescue group in the beginning of 2017, and they've been living indoors with me ever since. Tai's brother cat is a bit larger and has a very active personality. He loves to chase and tackle her. I can't seem to tire him out, a few hours after play he'll go back to stalking her. This has lead to her avoiding the litter box and peeing in unfortunate places. I recently took them to the vet again, and they didn't find a UTI but agree that it sounds like it's the brother cat that's the problem. The vet has suggested behavioural counseling and psychiatric meds for the brother, but I don't want to go down that road. This has been going on too long, and Tai deserves a safe home. Tai needs to not be attacked or stalked by other animals. I think she'd do okay with other animals that don't pounce on her, except that she *loves* to watch birds with obviously murderous intent, so keep her away from them. Tai can be fairly independent, she'll usually sit in the window most of the day unless she's waiting for an offered hand for scrtiches or for food/treats. She's smart and I did teach her to hit pingpong balls for treats. Tai has had all the vaccines that the vet offered, and I believe she's not positive for FIV (I have her record at home but I'm 99% sure she isn't positive for anything like that). She was overweight about 6 months ago, but most recently she was on target for weight. She has had some FORL tooth reabsorbtion lesions. The vet said that's not necessary to deal with (since it wasn't affecting her behavior at all) but since I was trying to find her a new home I recently opted for some optional surgery and teeth cleaning to help with that. She wasn't terribly difficult to administer antibiotics to with a syringe, she's wiggly but not too bad. She has had a UTI in the past when things were really stressful around the apartment, so I make sure to put a tablespoon or two of water onto her food to make sure she's hydrated. All in all, she doesn't have any outstanding health issues except for the FORL, but that's not something that my vet said was necessary to deal with. Tai is currently living in Mountain View, CA 94040 More information & application [ts=1745629376&src=aap]

Story
Maple is a sweet, shy girl who’s looking for a patient and loving home. She may take a little time to come out of her shell, but with some gentle encouragement (and a few tasty churros!), she’ll warm up to you in no time. Maple loves her quiet moments and feels most at ease in a calm environment. Once she trusts you, her gentle purrs and soft cuddles will make every moment spent together worth it. She’s the perfect companion for someone who appreciates the beauty of slow bonds and quiet afternoons. If you’re ready to give Maple the loving home she deserves, she’ll be forever grateful!

Story
Meet Penny the sun goddess! I’m a pretty 15-year-old Calico with the most beautiful green eyes. I was born near Serramonte Ford in Colma, I was rescued with my mom and sister in 2011 who were adopted long ago. I’m a good girl, I use the litter box, and the scratching post. I do like to be petted-but on My terms. I spend my day at the center looking for the sun, I love basking and sleeping in the sunshine (the volunteers say I run on solar power) but am happy when the volunteers come in to give me attention and Do like to be doted on. I am an active and incredibly smart girl but can also be quite independent. I need an experienced cat owner (I tend to favor Men) who will give me the time and patience to help adjust to a new home. I maybe alright with children 12 and over that understand the ways of cats. I prefer to be the only cat in the household. If you would be interested in meeting Penny, please fill out our online application: https://forms.gle/3CcPeeAKWwQtj1a17

Story
Maya was found abandoned at the end of a driveway in Half Moon Bay. She was in a carrier with another cat, 2 beds and bowls but no other information. Maya is about 6 years old and healthy but needed a dental which she came through like a champ! Maya's fur coloring is really unique. One side and her head and tail are beautifully colored in browns, oranges and black. Her other side is pure white. It is as if she was born before the powers that be were finished painting the other half of her body. Maya loves attention. She will let you know when she has had enough. She does like to get petted and holds up her end of a conversation. She loves to garner all the attention so it would be best if Maya was an only kitty in her home. Is your family looking for a beautiful blue-eyed princess to be a companion for your family? Maya is waiting for you. Please note: Maya would do best as an only childIndoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1745629311&src=aap]

Story
Betty Boo is a playful and independent girl who brings energy and joy to any home! She’s a high-energy young cat who loves chasing toys across the house, especially her favorite—plastic cat springs that glide perfectly across the hardwood floor. While she enjoys a good wand toy session, she’s also great at entertaining herself, batting around any toy she finds. At bedtime, you’ll find her curled up in a cozy cat bed or perched on a cat tree. Though she’s not the first to approach, once you find her snuggled on the couch or in bed, she happily welcomes pets and cuddles, purring contentedly. Betty also has a soft spot for Churu treats and will patiently sit with a paw on your leg, gently asking for more. She’s not a fan of being picked up but loves laying down for belly rubs, especially after a long play session. Betty is good with other cats, considerate kids, and adores her brother, Orange Julius. While she enjoys her independence, she knows how to share space and affection. With her silly "meep" meow and spirited energy, Betty would thrive in a home with a patient family who’s ready to give her time to adjust and appreciates a playful, independent cat who loves fun as much as she loves a good cuddle. Could you be her forever family? Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped.  This cat is in a foster home and can be met there. Story
Jubilee has been an exceptional mom, but now she's ready to start a life of her own. This lovely lady is looking for a forever home where she can truly discover who she is. Jubilee absolutely adores being pet and scratched around her neck. She's been showing signs of blossoming, especially in quieter environments. She will sleep with you and wouldn't mind a scratch or ten in the middle of the night if you feel inclined. Jubilee's incredibly sweet with people and would likely be okay around kids who understand how to be gentle with her. While she tended to stay away from the dog in her foster home, she wasn't overly frightened by him Are you ready to give Jubilee the loving home she deserves? With your kindness and a little time, Jubilee is sure to blossom into the perfect companion, bringing joy and warmth to your home. Story
Arwen – Queen of the Shy, Guardian of the Windowsill Like her namesake, Arwen is a quiet and graceful soul, watching over her domain with keen eyes and a heart full of mystery. This 4-year, 10-month-old tabby may start off reserved, but given time, she will forge an unbreakable bond with her chosen companions.   Once trust is earned, Arwen reveals her affectionate side—curling up in your lap when it suits her royal whims and keeping watch from the foot of the bed at night. She delights in the chase, dashing after a string as if she were hunting in the wilds of Rivendell, pouncing on her beloved sock like a fierce warrior, and batting paper balls across the floor in a game of feline football.   A lover of peaceful observation, Arwen spends much of her time lounging in sunbeams, surveying the world beyond the window, and indulging in a bit of "cat TV" on YouTube, where she can marvel at birds and squirrels without ever leaving her perch.   Arwen seeks a home as serene as Lothlórien—quiet, relaxed, and free from the clamor of loud noises. While she has lived with another kitten in the past, she has since ruled her kingdom alone and would need time to adjust to any new furry companions. She has not yet encountered children, so a patient, understanding household would be best for her noble spirit.   Fully up to date on her vaccines, Arwen is ready to find her own Fellowship—a guardian who will grant her the time she needs to settle in and, in return, be rewarded with the love and loyalty of a truly enchanting feline. Arwen is being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, please fill out our application here: https://www.thedancingcat.org/adopt-courtesy For more information regarding our Courtesy Posts, see www.thedancingcat.org/courtesy-postsFebruary 24, 2025, 6:48 pm
