Meet Penny the sun goddess! I’m a pretty 15-year-old Calico with the most beautiful green eyes. I was born near Serramonte Ford in Colma, I was rescued with my mom and sister in 2011 who were adopted long ago. I’m a good girl, I use the litter box, and the scratching post. I do like to be petted-but on My terms. I spend my day at the center looking for the sun, I love basking and sleeping in the sunshine (the volunteers say I run on solar power) but am happy when the volunteers come in to give me attention and do like to be doted on. I am an active and incredibly smart girl but can also be quite independent. I need an experienced cat owner (I tend to favor Men) who will give me the time and patience to help adjust to a new home. I maybe alright with children 12 and over that understand the ways of cats. I prefer to be the only cat in the household. Nick is a gentle giant with a whole lot of love tucked into his big, handsome frame. He’s sweet, a little shy at first, and incredibly affectionate once he feels safe. If you walk into a room and sit on the floor, Nick won’t hesitate—he’ll make a beeline straight for your lap, complete with enthusiastic headbutts to say hello. Nick enjoys lounging in the cubby of his cat tree, surveying the room from above, watching out the window, and keeping an eye on outside activities. He likes wand toys but he’d much rather relax in your lap and soak up all your attention. Nick, along with his littermates Kevin and Popeye, was adopted from our rescue as small kittens and sadly returned over two years later. Since coming back into foster care, he has shown that he has no behavioral or medical issues—just a tender heart that needed a little time to adjust. It might take him a couple of days, but treats (and his love of affection) quickly will win him over. Now he’s happily seeking out cuddles and lap time. Nick is looking for a forever home where he never has to worry about losing his person again. Although he would love if he could be adopted with his brother Kevin, he can go as a single kitty.
