Story
Hi! I'm Speckles! I was rescued at San Francisco Animal Care & Control. I’m a gorgeous Calico with Tortoiseshell patterned fur and a bit of Tortie cattitude to match. I'm shy at first and maybe even a little sassy but really I’m just a quirky little lovebug in the rough. Once I warm up, I’m very sweet and love receiving pets and massages. I’ll happily announce when it’s time for pets, armpit scritches, and tummy rubs. And if you really want to pamper me, I love being brushed because not only does it feel fabulous, but it also helps my gorgeous fur look its best. I’m not quite a lap cat yet but my foster human thinks it will happen one day. I’m all about receiving pets and being worshipped but I do remove my crown now and then to reveal my playful side. I love peacock feathers because they sort of hypnotize me while making me feel at ease right before I attack them… muahahah!! But if you really want to see me let loose, just toss a few treats and my rambunctious and cartoonish character will be on full display. My foster human is training me to “sit” on command and jump through hoops and yes, I’ll do it for her sometimes but not all of the time because I need to make sure she knows I’m the boss… hee hee. I think I would enjoy having a kitty furiend around who has a calm and quiet purrsonality but as long as I receive lots of love from my human and have lots of windows to look outside, I’ll be a happy kitty. I’m on the hunt for a patient and cat savvy human who speaks my language, will appreciate my silly and occasionally sassy purrsonality, and will join me on my journey towards becoming more comfortable and confident. You can see more of me here @missspreckles. Please note: Indoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1708596131&src=aap]

Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Fantômette is a 7-year cat from France that I adopted from a shelter when she was 2 years old. I don't know her full story before this, just that she was found in the street with her kittens that were adopted separately. I lived with her in an apartment since then. She has a strong personality but she can be cuddly when she wants to and she is very playful. I would like to rehome her with someone who has an exterior as I think she actually enjoys it a lot. I'm trying to rehome her because of 2 reasons: I'm moving to Australia in a few months (the movement is way too complex for her and for us) and she is not getting along with my partner. She has some aggression issues that is somewhat mediated by letting her roam free outside. She does need an experienced owner.

Story
Raquel is a beautiful calico kitten with gorgeous orange tabby, white and black markings. Her dignified personality matches her majestic appearance. Raquel is very sweet, likes to rub up against her human's legs, and she pushes into pets, as opposed to simply accepting them or shying away. Raquel is very smart and has learned to rub against an offered hand in return for treats - it's a favorite trick for her and leads to lots of purrs. Raquel also enjoys being picked up and carried around and loves to have a nap on a lap. Raquel is very bonded to her brother Rimu and they groom and cuddle with each other all the time. Raquel also loves to cuddle with her sister, Rainbow. Raquel would love to be adopted with Rimu or Rainbow. Raquel is fostered in San Mateo. We adopt kittens in pairs unless you have another young kitty at home. They need a feline playmate to play, wrestle, groom and sleep with them. If you would be interested in meeting this kitty, please fill out our online application: https://forms.gle/3CcPeeAKWwQtj1a17 Please note: we make every attempt to keep the information on this site current and cannot always respond to inquiries that do not include an application. Thank you for your understanding.

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Penny the sun goddess! I’m a pretty 13 year old Calico with the most beautiful green eyes. I was born near Serramonte Ford in Colma, I was rescued with my mom and sister in 2011 who were adopted long ago. I’m a good girl, I use the litter box, and the scratching post. I like sleeping on a human’s bed. I do like to be petted-but on My terms. I'm learning that getting people pets are great and I'm starting to ask for them more and more. I spend my day at the center looking for the sun, I love basking and sleeping in the sunshine but am happy when the volunteers come in to give me attention. I am an active and incredibly smart girl, but can also be quite independent. I need an experienced cat owner (I tend to favor Men) who will give me the time and patience to help adjust to a new home. I maybe alright with children 12 and over that understand the ways of cats. I prefer to be the only cat in the household. Fill out our Adoption Application and meet this special girl in person.

Story
Maya was found abandoned at the end of a driveway in Half Moon Bay. She was in a carrier with another cat, 2 beds and bowls but no other information. Maya is about 6 years old and healthy but needed a dental which she came through like a champ! Maya's fur coloring is really unique. One side and her head and tail are beautifully colored in browns, oranges and black. Her other side is pure white. It is as if she was born before the powers that be were finished painting the other half of her body. Maya loves attention. She will let you know when she has had enough. She does like to get petted and holds up her end of a conversation. She loves to garner all the attention so it would be best if Maya was an only kitty in her home. Is your family looking for a beautiful blue-eyed princess to be a companion for your family? Maya is waiting for you. Please note: Maya would do best as an only childIndoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1708596088&src=aap]

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
In the middle of June, 2017, five beautiful kittens were seen running around in a coast side neighborhood backyard. The neighbor contacted rescue people to help these little ones escape the feral life. Although it took some time, these beautiful kittens were trapped and brought inside. Mom cat was also trapped and spayed. The person who trapped the kittens contacted CIW to see if we could help find the kittens their forever homes and we could. The kittens were all healthy, social kittens. They were all current with their vaccinations, are spayed and neutered, are micro-chipped and tested negative for feline leukemia and aids. The kittens were all adopted to lovely families but as sometimes happens, things change. Beau and Lana's Mom, developed an allergy to the kitties and the difficult decision was made to return them to CIW. These 2 beautiful babies are again looking for their forever home together. Beau is a big, friendly boy. He is very sweet and loves cheek scratches and pets, and will often come out and greet you with a little chirp when you come home. He enjoys sleeping on the bed with you and lounging around on the couch or on his cat bed. He is very playful, and he can entertain himself by throwing his mouse around the room, or dashing around after a wand toy. He also loves pouncing on his sister, Lana, and trying to get her to play with him. Beau is a healthy boy who is neutered, current with his vaccinations, and microchipped. Beau is a big honey bear who is looking for his forever home! Lana is a loving girl, and although she takes a bit longer to warm up than her brother, once she gets to know you she is very affectionate. She loves winding around your legs, especially around feeding time or when you’re trying to get out the door for work. Lana loves sitting on her cat tree, and she can lounge the day or night away gazing out the window. She loves to occasionally hunt and pounce on a wand toy or toss a little play mouse around the room. She loves to occasionally hunt and pounce on a wand toy or toss a little play mouse around the room. She grew up around kids and is very comfortable even with toddlers. She'll keep you entertained with her playful antics and zest for discovery. Houdini is the lover...Inquisitive and protective, Houdini has a heart that craves affection through contact with her human. She's a snuggler at heart, ready to shower you with love and create an unbreakable bond once she gets used to her new environment. Both kittens are up to date on their vaccinations - they are spayed, and micro chipped. They share a special bond and watching them play together is pure joy. Toys are their happy place, and they're sure to bring endless smiles to your home. Story
Peaches is a sweet little girl who loves cuddling and of course play. She loves playing with toys and with other kittens. Peaches was trapped as stray when she was about 2 months old along with 3 other kittens. She now lives with her foster mom in a home with the other rescued kittens who are also waiting for their forever homes. Peaches loves everyone, animal and human. She is gentle and confident. She is an active kitten and should have someone around most of the day to keep her company. She has rescue buddies she's lived with who can be adopted with her or she can be an only pet if she has lots of playtime and cuddles. Peaches grazes on dry food throughout the day and loves her daily dinner of canned food. Peaches is healthy, spayed, FVRCP vaccinated, and microchipped. Her vet suggests waiting until 6 months of age before rabies vaccination. Peaches is currently living in San Jose, CA 95125 More information & application [ts=1708596156&src=aap]

Story
Descend into the warm embrace of the SF SPCA and meet Stitch, our uniquely charming brown tabby, who seems to have made a quiet entrance from the far reaches of Lincoln, California. While his name might evoke images of Disney's mischievous blue extraterrestrial, our Stitch is navigating his new surroundings with a level of shyness that's as endearing as it is touching. Currently very shy and adjusting, Stitch mirrors the initial caution of a stranger in a new world, exploring his environment with a careful curiosity that belies a deep-seated desire for connection and companionship.Though he may not show it with the boisterous energy of his animated counterpart, Stitch's spirit of adventure and knack for forming bonds is just as potent, simply waiting for the right moment to shine. His days are spent gradually acquainting himself with the sights, sounds, and smells of San Francisco, each tentative step forward a testament to his resilience and the unfolding of his playful nature.Stitch embodies the core message of 'ohana-where family means no one is left behind or forgotten-even as he seeks his place within the heart of a loving family or companion who understands the value of patience and the gentle passage of time in nurturing a shy animal's trust. If you're willing to offer Stitch the safety and love he needs to flourish, this terrestrial tabby is ready to embark on a quiet yet profound journey of loyalty, laughter, and discovery with you. Visit us, and let Stitch's story gently weave into the fabric of your life, promising an adventure filled with growth, warmth, and the subtle magic of newfound friendship.
