Story
Meet Penny the sun goddess! I’m a pretty 13 year old Calico with the most beautiful green eyes. I was born near Serramonte Ford in Colma, I was rescued with my mom and sister in 2011 who were adopted long ago. I’m a good girl, I use the litter box, and the scratching post. I like sleeping on a human’s bed. I do like to be petted-but on My terms. I'm learning that getting people pets are great and I'm starting to ask for them more and more. I spend my day at the center looking for the sun, I love basking and sleeping in the sunshine but am happy when the volunteers come in to give me attention. I am an active and incredibly smart girl, but can also be quite independent. I need an experienced cat owner (I tend to favor Men) who will give me the time and patience to help adjust to a new home. I maybe alright with children 12 and over that understand the ways of cats. I prefer to be the only cat in the household. Fill out our Adoption Application and meet this special girl in person.

Story
In the middle of June, 2017, five beautiful kittens were seen running around in a coast side neighborhood backyard. The neighbor contacted rescue people to help these little ones escape the feral life. Although it took some time, these beautiful kittens were trapped and brought inside. Mom cat was also trapped and spayed. The person who trapped the kittens contacted CIW to see if we could help find the kittens their forever homes and we could. The kittens were all healthy, social kittens. They were all current with their vaccinations, are spayed and neutered, are micro-chipped and tested negative for feline leukemia and aids. The kittens were all adopted to lovely families but as sometimes happens, things change. Beau and Lana's Mom, developed an allergy to the kitties and the difficult decision was made to return them to CIW. These 2 beautiful babies are again looking for their forever home together. Beau is a big, friendly boy. He is very sweet and loves cheek scratches and pets, and will often come out and greet you with a little chirp when you come home. He enjoys sleeping on the bed with you and lounging around on the couch or on his cat bed. He is very playful, and he can entertain himself by throwing his mouse around the room, or dashing around after a wand toy. He also loves pouncing on his sister, Lana, and trying to get her to play with him. Beau is a healthy boy who is neutered, current with his vaccinations, and microchipped. Beau is a big honey bear who is looking for his forever home! Lana is a loving girl, and although she takes a bit longer to warm up than her brother, once she gets to know you she is very affectionate. She loves winding around your legs, especially around feeding time or when you’re trying to get out the door for work. Lana loves sitting on her cat tree, and she can lounge the day or night away gazing out the window. She loves to occasionally hunt and pounce on a wand toy or toss a little play mouse around the room. She loves to occasionally hunt and pounce on a wand toy or toss a little play mouse around the room. She grew up around kids and is very comfortable even with toddlers. Story
Maya was found abandoned at the end of a driveway in Half Moon Bay. She was in a carrier with another cat, 2 beds and bowls but no other information. Maya is about 6 years old and healthy but needed a dental which she came through like a champ! Maya's fur coloring is really unique. One side and her head and tail are beautifully colored in browns, oranges and black. Her other side is pure white. It is as if she was born before the powers that be were finished painting the other half of her body. Maya loves attention. She will let you know when she has had enough. She does like to get petted and holds up her end of a conversation. She loves to garner all the attention so it would be best if Maya was an only kitty in her home. Is your family looking for a beautiful blue-eyed princess to be a companion for your family? Maya is waiting for you. Please note: Maya would do best as an only childIndoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1713942091&src=aap]

Story
Hi! I'm Speckles! I was rescued at San Francisco Animal Care & Control. I’m a gorgeous Calico with Tortoiseshell patterned fur and a bit of Tortie cattitude to match. I'm shy at first and maybe even a little sassy but really I’m just a quirky little lovebug in the rough. Once I warm up, I’m very sweet and love receiving pets and massages. I’ll happily announce when it’s time for pets, armpit scritches, and tummy rubs. And if you really want to pamper me, I love being brushed because not only does it feel fabulous, but it also helps my gorgeous fur look its best. I’m not quite a lap cat yet but my foster human thinks it will happen one day. I’m all about receiving pets and being worshipped but I do remove my crown now and then to reveal my playful side. I love peacock feathers because they sort of hypnotize me while making me feel at ease right before I attack them… muahahah!! But if you really want to see me let loose, just toss a few treats and my rambunctious and cartoonish character will be on full display. My foster human is training me to “sit” on command and jump through hoops and yes, I’ll do it for her sometimes but not all of the time because I need to make sure she knows I’m the boss… hee hee. I think I would enjoy having a kitty furiend around who has a calm and quiet purrsonality but as long as I receive lots of love from my human and have lots of windows to look outside, I’ll be a happy kitty. I’m on the hunt for a patient and cat savvy human who speaks my language, will appreciate my silly and occasionally sassy purrsonality, and will join me on my journey towards becoming more comfortable and confident. You can see more of me here @missspreckles. Please note: Indoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1713942135&src=aap]

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Our Hunger Games kittens are 8 months old and looking to find homes that will give them a little time to settle in. They are both sweet and playful but loud noises and quick movements still scare them a little bit. They have made tons of progress in their foster home but still need that little extra amount of patience to allow them to fully trust their humans. They can be adopted together or individually. They also can join a home with another resident cat. Here are some individual traits about both of them. Katniss - She is the more confident of the two. She is cautious at first when meeting new people but warms up very quickly. She loves to play with her brother and also the other kitties in her foster home. She has a very sweet demeanor, and we think as she becomes more and more comfortable, she will be a vocal kitty, she just has to find her voice. She would love to have a forever home and express to you every day how grateful she is for having been rescued. Peeta - This sweet boy is still learning this 'trusting humans' thing but once he thinks you are okay in his book, then he is a purring machine. He loves to play up a storm with any kitty and with any type of toy. He would love a cat tree in his new home too. He just needs someone to give him a chance. We know his forever person is out there, could it be you? They have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $200 per kitten or $350 for the pair.April 23, 2024, 9:21 pm

Story
Hello everyone, we're Calvin and Hobbes! Calvin is a 1 year old, neutered male, large sized, domestic shorthair kitty whose face is mostly grey. Hobbes is a 1 year and 7 month old, neutered male, large sized, domestic shorthair cat whose face is mostly white. We are two gentle giants who are looking for a comfortable and quiet forever home! We are both quite shy and rely on each other for comfort, so we would love a home with cat-savvy owners who can provide TLC to two reserved boys like us.  A word from Calvin: I'm shy at first, but I'm fond of treats and I'm very playful! I may be slow to accept pets, but I open up with love and patience. A word from Hobbes: I take time to come out of my shell, but once I'm comfortable I enjoy treats, playing and even some pets! If we sound like the purrfect additions to your home, come visit us at the PHS Adoption Center and ask for Calvin ID# A942743 and Hobbs ID# A942744!Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Story
Hiya! They call me Pootsie! I am a 2 year old, medium size, spayed female, and I'm looking for my fur-ever home! I'm a fun and frisky kitty that loves playtime and nibbling on tasty treats! I would love to find a home where I can be the center of attention. My ideal family would be with someone who is familiar with active and opinionated cats like me. I would do best in an adults only home as the only cat, as I tend to get overstimulated which means that sometimes I just want some alone time. I love to play with toys and will jump at the chance to chase a feather wand. If you are looking for a feline companion who will keep you entertained- perhaps I'm the gal for you? Ask for me by name!
