Story
Butter here. Little secret, if I was a human I would be called a "cougar." Seems I really like having youngish feline eye candy around. They make me giggle in my own cat way. I currently share my space with one or two adorable young adult boys. They show me respect. I allow them to amuse me. And foster mom has commented that in general, I seem happier than I was before they arrived. I have been hanging out with my foster mom for a few months. It took her a while to figure out the secret life of this cat (see the previous comment about being a "cougar"). Also, she has learned that when I approach, she needs to put her hand out for me to decide if I want to be pet or not. Spoiler: I usually do, but I would like you to start with my shoulders. Still figuring out laps and being held, but if you would like a sophisticated cat to help you manage a couple of young boy cats, you just need some Butter! Butter is about 11 years old, spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and is litter box trained. Adoption fee: $75 (plus tax) (Adopt 2 cats and save $25 off the total adoption fee!)

Story
Petunia is a very loving cat who had a rough start to life. She enjoys playing with toys and snuggling and has youthful energy and curiosity, while also enjoying a nice nap in a patch of sunlight. She is blossoming and thriving indoors and loves people. She’s a wonderful pet but would be happiest as your one and only. In turn, she has so much love to give. She’s a smart girl and learned to sit for treats too! Petunia would prefer to be the only cat in the family and can live with older kids. Petunia Market is around 1-3 years old and is spayed, FeLV negative, FIV positive, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. She is Affectionate, Brave, Cuddly, Curious, Playful, and Smart. Adoption fee: $100 (plus tax)

Story
Full disclosure: Bonnie the Beauty scores off the charts in sass. She is the ghost pepper of spiciness. The brings-tears-to-your-eyes at the Wing Bowl kind of spicy. When she arrived to her foster home, she spent the first week voicing her displeasure about everything. Except catnip - she is a sucker for catnip! It took a few weeks for her to settle in and now she rules the house. She is the best neighborhood watch anyone could ask for, and she truly is a beauty! Bonnie needs a home with someone who has the patience to let her call the shots. Someone who will give her the time she needs to claim her throne and makes things just to her liking. With a little time and love, we wouldn't be shocked to hear that her spice has leveled out and that she really needed was a home of her own where she could feel safe and loved. Bonnie is living with other cats now and as long as they don't bother her, she lets them be. She loves snack time and soft pillows. She would love a cat tree and a good scratching post. And buckets of catnip! Bonnie the Beauty is 4-5 years old and is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. Adoption fee: $0. One of volunteers loves Bonnie has decided to sponsor her adoption fee!

Story
Sweet Potato is a social and cool tabico cat who was found on the streets of West Philly. When she was first brought to Project MEOW, she had a rash that later spread throughout her entire body. Turns out, she's allergic to so many things (dust mites, fleas, EUCALYPTUS) and she requires a little bit of extra attention. After a few rounds of medication, she's doing so much better but can still flare up from time to time. Sweet Potato prefers to love from a distance - she'll follow you around from room to room but isn't much of a cuddler. She'll approach you when she wants a little love but prefers to act as a companion. She's not very vocal, happier expressing her needs through body language and long stares. She's super aware of her body - she's not the type to jump on counters or knock over objects. Still a young cat, her favorite toy is a wand, she can run around the home chasing it but is smart enough to understand that it's her human that's behind the toy. She's very independent, but likely best suited in a house without young children, as she's doesn't not appreciate being touched without her consent. Sweet Potato is about 3 years old and she is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. Adoption fee: $100 (plus tax) (Adopt 2 cats and save $25 off the total adoption fee!)

Story
Rosie is a one-eyed, ear-tipped, tri-colored cat-toy chaser looking for her forever home. After living on the streets for many years, Rosie took quite kindly to the pleasant life of an indoor cat as she recuperated in our house after surviving a dog attack last October. She’s a curious and cuddly girl who loves to fall asleep on your lap, and her meows and mmmraps are so funny–she sounds like a croaking frog! Her super-fast reflexes and street smarts make her excellent at chasing after wand toys with little fluttering bird-like attachments. Rosie has been a constant source of joy and triumph as we’ve watched her open up to and even ask for love from us humans. Of course, as a reformed street cat, she does have her quirks! She enjoys getting pets, but she’s also particular about where she wants to be touched and for how long. She also needs to be queen of the house–she will not share a house with other cats or dogs! Rosie’s the perfect companion for anyone who wants a loving furry friend, who will respect her boundaries, and who will take the time and care needed to get her comfortable in a new and unfamiliar home. She is cuddly, curious, independent, lazy, and playful. Rosie Mountain is 7-8 years old and is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. Adoption fee: $100 (plus tax)

Story
Meet Hope – A Gentle Little Purr Machine 🤍 Hope is a beautiful 6-month-old snow-white kitten with the sweetest soul. True to her name, she brings calm, comfort, and quiet joy wherever she goes. Gentle and affectionate, Hope absolutely loves being close to her people—especially curled up in a warm lap, purring contentedly. She’s famous for her biscuit-making skills and will happily knead away whenever she’s feeling loved (which is often!). Hope is a true cuddle bug and will happily snuggle with you at bedtime—often choosing your pillow as her favorite place to sleep. Hope has been raised with her siblings, Moonlight and Pochi, and shares a close bond with them. She also gets along very well with adult cats. As a condition of adoption, Hope must be adopted into a home that already has another friendly, playful cat or kitten, as she thrives with feline companionship. While Hope is being listed for individual adoption to help her find a home more easily, her siblings are also available. If an adopter is interested and able, adopting all three would be welcomed and would make for a beautifully bonded trio. Whether joining a home with an existing cat or being adopted alongside her siblings, Hope is ready to fill her forever home with purrs, warmth, and unconditional love. Could Hope be the perfect addition to your family? 💕 Hope is under a year old and is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. Adoption fee: $125 (plus tax)

Story
Meet Buddy — Hoping for a Forever Home Before the Holidays   Buddy is a gentle, loving tuxedo boy around 8–9 years old who has known more heartbreak than any cat should. When a new family member and dog entered his former home, Buddy was pushed aside… and ultimately left behind. Despite that, his loving spirit never dimmed.   Two incredibly kind neighbors fed him and looked out for him while he tried to survive on the streets — far too long for a cat who just wants to belong.   Buddy is heading to the vet in the coming days for the full workup, and he’s already proving what a sweetheart he truly is. He adores people, gives the cutest head-butts, and soaks up every bit of affection he can get. All he wants now is a family that will never fail him again.   Buddy would likely do best as the only cat in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention he’s been missing for so long.   If you’re looking to open your heart and home to a cat who will love you endlessly, Buddy is ready.    Let’s help this sweet boy find the warm, safe, forever home he deserves — just in time for the holidays.    To learn more about Buddy, and other pets available for adoption,  please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org   To submit an adoption application,  please utilize the link below. https://animalfriendsoflansdowne.org/adoption-application   Animal Friends of Lansdowne is a non-profit, all-volunteer community rescue, now in their twenty-first year.Animal Friends of Lansdowne Post Office Box 869 Lansdowne, PA 19050 (484) 463-1277 email: info@animalfriendsoflansdowne.org www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org        Please Follow AFL on Facebook and Instagram! Story
Introducing the very lovely Kara. Her story is a sad one. Born in 2008, Kara had kittens who were adopted out, and Kara was spayed and adopted by a kind gentleman with several cats. Kara was well cared for, but one cat bullied her and made her timid. Her owner became ill and passed away in 2018. Kara was then adopted by another kind gentleman and friend of the rescue, who passed away very suddenly in June 2022. Kara is as sweet as sweet can be, but she needs some work and commitment from a special adopter to help rebuild her confidence. You need to seek her out, then she will thoroughly enjoy affection and will reward you with very loud purrs. Kara has been updated on all her vet care and is a very healthy senior kitty. She truly needs for her next home to be her last. A calm and loving home, ideally with no other pets (though she will adjust to kind ones), would complete Kara’s wish list. A senior human in need of a gentle companion would be just perfect. If Kara’s story stirs your heart, you just might be her person. Please apply today.   To learn more about Kara and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org. Story
I’m Caesar, and I'm looking for someone to spend the better half of my life with. I was found abandoned in a sealed basement in Philly with my brother, who passed away shortly after due to infection from the living conditions, but after some love from my foster parents, I'm ready for my forever family! My foster noticed that my face is paralyzed and I've been thoroughly checked out. The good news is, it is stable and does not limit me at all, no need for meds or eye drops! Even better- it gives me a very charming smirk...bad news is I can get the occasional ear infection since I forget to clean the ear I can't feel! I love people and while I'm still learning how to trust and interact with them, I’m SUPER cuddly and a little needy once I trust you. I can get a little too excited when getting attention, especially at first, but I promise I'm working on better manners and how to ask for more—I just love pets! I’m neutered, up to date on vaccines, and all ready to go home with you. My perfect home would be just adult humans; I have had a few feline roommates; I didn’t love all of them and would require slow, respectful introductions to other cats. If there are children in the home, I am best suited for older ones who will respect my signals.
