Story
MEET ROSIE! Rosie is a senior Tabico who was brought to a local veterinary hospital for euthanasia because she began having litter box troubles after being re-homed by her original family. There are many reasons why a cat might be having little box issues such as stress (from big changes like moving), a treatable medical condition or infection, or something as simple as the litter box not being cleaned frequently enough, none of which require immediate euthanasia. The hospital staff instead asked if they could find safe placement for Rosie and she came to City of Elderly Love instead! Rosie has not had a single accident since having a chance to decompress in foster care and since having access to a clean litter box. When Rosie received a veterinary evaluation including labs. It was found that she had an active flea infestation and itchy, inflamed skin which likely wasn't helping. She’s since healed up nicely and received the medical all-clear for adoption! She’s looking and feeling like a new lady! Estimated to be 10-12 years old, Rosie is a sweet, low-key lady who is currently in foster care with other cats, dogs, and smaller kids. She took a little bit to come around but once comfortable, she loves to seek out attention and flop over for belly rubs. She’s happy to interact with the kids as long as they’re quiet and calm. She otherwise steers clear until they’re in bed so we think she’d love a quieter home. When all is calm, she loves to come down and play with the other cats and cuddle up on the couch with the (low-key) dogs. If you’re looking to add another chill member to your already chill crew, Rosie might be your girl! She’d also do just fine as your one and only. Rosie is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also FIV/FeLV negative. Interested in adopting her? Story
Butter here. Little secret, if I was a human I would be called a "cougar." Seems I really like having youngish feline eye candy around. They make me giggle in my own cat way. I currently share my space with one or two adorable young adult boys. They show me respect. I allow them to amuse me. And foster mom has commented that in general, I seem happier than I was before they arrived. I have been hanging out with my foster mom for a few months. It took her a while to figure out the secret life of this cat (see the previous comment about being a "cougar"). Also, she has learned that when I approach, she needs to put her hand out for me to decide if I want to be pet or not. Spoiler: I usually do, but I would like you to start with my shoulders. Still figuring out laps and being held, but if you would like a sophisticated cat to help you manage a couple of young boy cats, you just need some Butter! Butter is about 11 years old, spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and is litter box trained. Adoption fee: $75 (plus tax) (Adopt 2 cats and save $25 off the total adoption fee!)

Story
Sydnie Sweetie was a standout amongst her litter. She became accustomed quickly to home living and was exploring and asking for pets weeks ahead of her siblings. She seems to prefer doing her own thing over spending time with her siblings. Post surgery, she learned some bad words from the clinic and has been mouthing off. So, expect a sassy personality. She loves being the center of attention and has not yet grasped the concept of personal space, other than her own. She may or may not get along with other cats, depending on if she decides they annoy her or if they get more attention than her. Sydnie is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. It is Project MEOW's policy that kittens are either adopted with another cat or kitten, or go to a new family that already has a cat or kitten for companionship. Adoption fee: $125 (plus tax)

Story
If Wonder Woman were a cat, she would be Maeve! This gorgeous kitten is much more than a pretty face (though she is definitely a looker with her bold calico coloring) - she is brave and strong and full of energy. She loves to run, and jump, and play, and then, when she is all tired out, she loves to snuggle in your arms. She lives with her two brothers in her foster home, and they get along great. They are connected and play and snuggle together, but she is also independent. So she could be adopted with one (or both!) of her brothers but does not need to be. Since she is a kitten, she would do best with a family who understands the high energy of kittens and can give her enough attention and stimulation. If not adopted with one of her siblings, she will need to be in a home with another young cat. Although she has not interacted with young children, she would most likely be fine with a family, as long as the children know (or can learn) how to handle cats gently and read their signals. Maeve is an absolute delight and her forever person will be SO LUCKY to have this little lady in their lives. Maeve is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. It is Project MEOW's policy that kittens are either adopted with another cat or kitten, or go to a new family that already has a cat or kitten for companionship. Adoption fee: $125 (plus tax)

Story
Cecil is a 3-month-old kitten ready for adoption, and he is unhinged!Cecil has a congenital brain condition that causes a mood disorder, which basically means everything about him is extra. Extra wild. Extra bitey. Extra lovey. Extra dramatic. Cecil has BIG emotions, and he experiences every single one of them at full volume. When Cecil is awake, he is an absolute bucket of laughs. He is hysterically funny, wildly entertaining, and always doing something ridiculous. He plays hard, loves hard, bites hard, and seems to have absolutely no concept of moderation. You’ve heard of an ankle-biter dog. How about an ankle-biter cat? That is Cecil.Your ankles may be stalked. Your toes may be ambushed. Your hands may occasionally become the enemy. Five minutes later, Cecil may decide you are the greatest person who has ever existed and climb all over you looking for affection. And when Cecil finally runs out of Cecil? He doesn’t gently settle down for a nap. He passes out.Because Cecil’s behavior is caused by his neurological condition, his adopter must understand that he cannot simply be scolded or disciplined out of it. He needs someone who can laugh at his quirks, redirect him when necessary, and accept that Cecil’s brain works a little differently. For that reason, Cecil is not suitable for a home with children.Cecil currently takes no medications and can potentially live a long, normal life. However, because of his brain condition (lissencephaly) it is possible that he could develop seizures in the future and require medication.Cecil is part of Kitkat Playroom’s Wyatt’s Army Lifetime Program, which means Kitkat Playroom will cover veterinary expenses related to his neurological condition for the rest of his life, including future neurological medications if he ever needs them.Cecil isn’t a quiet little kitten who will politely entertain himself in the corner. He is chaos. He is comedy. He is affection. He is teeth. He is enormous emotions packed into one very small kitten. And for the right person, he is going to be ridiculously fun to love.Apply to adopt Cecil at https://kitkatplayroom.com/adopt
