***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 5/30/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement – part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Poor Kalispell has not had an easy time of it since arriving at the shelter back in August 2025. Just a couple of weeks after she arrived as a stray, she gave birth to a litter of kittens, which meant she (and they) had to wait until the kittens were weaned before any of them could be listed for adoption. During this time, Kalispell was an excellent mother - perhaps a bit too good, as she did her best to shun attentions from the shelter staff and volunteers, preferring to keep them away from her babies (and of course, we HAD to socialize and handle the little ones, leading to much frustration for Kalispell). Just when Kalispell's kittens were adopted and we thought she, too, would be ready to head home - she contracted a calicivirus infection requiring a fairly lengthy quarantine period, with little human contact daily (to help prevent the spread of infection). She has now fully cleared her calici infection, but during the past couple of months, has grown depressed, antisocial, and slightly obese. She is now allowed to interact with other cats in a healthy-cat communal Meow Manor room, and gets many more human visits for snuggles and attention, but thus far has not perked up or shown much interest in interactions with any species. Kalispell needs a calm and loving home with an understanding family who will help her gradually lose weight, while learning all about the love of humans and fun to be had as a family pet. With your help, she can recover her broken spirit and find joy in life again! She's still a young cat, with an estimated birth date of 8/1/24, and we all want to see her blossom and live a long and happy life in an adoptive home. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Kalispell is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Winnie and Kali are a sweet bonded pair. They were each adopted separately from two different shelters and have become best friends! Kali is three years old (7lbs) and Winnie (12lbs) will be one year old in September. These are the sweetest cats I have ever owned and I’ve had cats my whole life. Unfortunately, our one year old son is very allergic to cats so we need to find them BOTH a safe and loving home together.

Story
We are looking for a loving forever home for Midna because we are moving to a location that only allows one pet and our other cat has disabilities and cannot be rehomed. We adopted Midna from a family member in September 2023 when she was a kitten a few weeks after she was born in August 2023. She is 2 and a half years old. Midna has always been an indoors only cat and is afraid of the outdoors. She is very social and friendly and loves people. She would also thrive in an environment where she has plenty of enrichment and can stay engaged in activities.

Story
Sweetpea is a loving 3-year old well behaved cat ready for someone who can fully adore her. She loves to watch the birds outside and really enjoys her feather toys. Our daughter is no longer able to care for her in her roommate situation and we want her to find her forever home. She is good with other cats and is good with our Terrier Mix. She’s not been around kids, but she’s great with everyone who visits and we suspect it’d be the same for kids. She is well trained; doesn’t get on the counter, etc. She uses a covered litter box. (she has also gone by the name Yerba, but Sweetpea is more fitting and it's really the loving tone she responds to, not her name)

Story
A miniature cat who is sweet, calm, and loves being loved all day long. I got Aspen when she was a kitten and have had her for 8 years.. and sadly am moving and there is she can not come. This was a very tough decision for our family. She is a miniature cat, so she is naturally a lot smaller than normal sized cats. She loves to be loved, pet, scratched, and could sit in your lap and be pet all day(literally all day). She has a very sweet temperament and loves to be around people. Very calm and loves to nap. Very low maintenance cat. Just likes to hang out in the room with everyone and nap in the sunlight. I am sad to say we are moving and we will not be able to take her with us. This was a hard decision to make, so looking for a home she can relax and be loved in.

Story
Woozle is a charming, silly boy who has truly mastered the art of relaxation. He’s always ready for his next nap and can often be found stretched out in the warmest, sunniest spot he can find, soaking up the rays and dreaming the day away. When he’s not snoozing, Woozle’s goofy personality shines through and is sure to bring smiles to everyone around him. He’d love a home that appreciates a good balance of cozy downtime and lighthearted fun—and a few sunny windows would be the perfect bonus for this sweet, sleepy guy.

Cheetos, a short haired tabby and white boy born 3/20/25, has the long-suffering air of a kitty who thinks "OK, you might eat me... do what you must, sigh, just make it quick." He will be so grateful to join your calm household and be allowed to blossom at his own pace. He's the most challenging to get on video, as the frenetic activity of the other kitties has him mostly hanging back out of the way. You can see in his short clip that he tolerates his grooming session, and KIND OF enjoys the petting and skritches, but his "flight response" is on a hair-trigger. He will likely never be a particularly outgoing cat, but we are sure that having the opportunity to decompress from the shelter in a warm, safe, calm, and loving home setting will enable Cheetos to become a happy and contented kitty. He really just wants a place to call his own where he can be left alone unless/until he wants some attention. Here is more information on adopting a shy cat: https://anticruelty.org/pet-library/adopting-shy-cat We give shy cats an extended 60-day trial adoption period, to give you extra time to bond. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! Story
Meet Emu, a sensitive and stunning almost 3 year old male cat currently searching for a quiet, patient home where he can decompress and feel safe. Emu was originally adopted from Forget Me Not after a long stay as a shy cat, and then found himself back in the shelter when his adopters could no longer care for him. Suffice it to say, Emu is NOT amused and would like to go HOME with you as soon as possible. As a shy guy, Emu prefers a low-key environment where he can initially find a warm and cozy spot to hide out while he adjusts to new surroundings. While he is not a typical lap cat, Emu appreciates affection on his own terms; he enjoys gentle pets but usually only for a short time before wishing to return to his peaceful solitude. He is truly a connoisseur of quiet companionship, allowing you to admire his natural beauty from a respectful distance rather than demanding constant attention. While Emu is timid, he has a definite soft spot for Churu treats, which are an excellent way to capture his attention and build trust, even if he prefers to keep his interactions brief. He isn't particularly interested in toys, preferring instead to spend his days lounging comfortably in a high-up, warm kitty condo or watching the world go by from a sunny window perch. He does fine with other cats, and would prefer a home with NO DOGS OR LOUD LITTLE HUMANS, please. If you have a calm, patient household and are looking for a gentle, low-maintenance companion who will eventually show you the rewarding love of a shy cat, Emu is ready to be your beautiful window-gazing buddy. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Emu is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you!
