Hi, I’m Eloise and I’m new to the rescue.  I'm on a medical hold while I receive some needed treatment.  Soon I'll be ready for my forever home so please click adopt to get your application approved. Dog’s Name: Eloise Location: Oswego, Il Date of Birth: 02/21/2018 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Blue Brindle Dog's Weight: 100 Gets along with: Dogs?: Yes, large and medium only.  NO SMALL DOGS! Cats?: No Kids?: Yes Training: Leash Trained - walks loose leash Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car Meet Eloise Miss Eloise may be a golden girl, but don’t let that fool you—she has plenty of personality! As she has decompressed and settled into her foster home, her spunky and lovable side has really started to shine. While she may be a little slow to get moving at times, Eloise knows exactly what she wants… and she isn’t shy about letting you know! Eloise believes she deserves the royal treatment and will happily remind you when it’s time for attention. If you sit down, she takes that as her official invitation for ear scratches and affection. In fact, if you’re holding something in your hands, she may gently nudge it out of the way so you can focus on the important task at hand—loving her. Her sweet, demanding charm makes her impossible not to adore. She absolutely loves being outside and enjoys leisurely strolls where she can take in the sights and smells at her own pace. Eloise is happiest when she can relax near her people, soak up affection, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Thanks to her gentle nature and easygoing personality, Eloise would make a wonderful companion for a first-time giant breed owner. She would do well in many types of homes, including families with children or adults of any age who are looking for a loving and loyal companion. If you’re searching for a sweet, slightly sassy queen who will keep you smiling and ensure you never forget to give enough ear scratches, Eloise is ready to claim her throne in your heart and home. Story
Hi, I’m Rafferty. I am ready to find my forever home! Dog’s Name: Rafferty Location: Green Bay, WI Date of Birth: 06/01/2025 Gender: Male Breed: Cane Corso Mix Color: Brindle Dog's Weight: 104 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?: No Kids?: Older kids or giant breed experienced younger kids Training: Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel with a treat as an incentive Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car: Doesn't like getting in the car, but rides well once in. Meet Rafferty! Rafferty is a sweet, loving pup who is full of personality and ready to bring joy to his forever home. He loves being around his people, whether he’s playing outside, gazing out the window, or soaking up attention. Rafferty is affectionate and social, and he has done very well meeting new people—always ready to share some happy licks! He does well in his crate and goes in without a fuss, though he will need a heavy-duty crate as he has figured out how to escape in the past. He may whine briefly but typically settles in nicely. Rafferty is still working on his leash skills, as he tends to get excited and a bit all over the place during walks. As a strong, growing pup, he doesn’t always realize his size, so continued training will be important. Like many puppies, Rafferty can get a little mouthy and may paw at you when excited, but he redirects very easily with toys and guidance. He is eager to learn and would thrive with consistent structure, training, and ongoing socialization to help him grow into a well-mannered adult. Rafferty would do best in a home with older children or kids who have experience with large breeds, as his size and enthusiasm can be a bit much for little ones. He does not require another dog but would do fine with one. A fenced yard is recommended to help him safely burn off energy and manage his curiosity about the world around him. Rafferty is a fun-loving, affectionate pup who just needs the right guidance and commitment to help him reach his full potential. In return, he’ll give you endless love, laughter, and a loyal companion for life. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Story
Hi, I’m Olaf and I'm ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Olaf Location:  Plano, Il Date of Birth: 07/11/2023 Gender: Male Breed: Cane Corso Color: Black Dog's Weight: 125 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs, but needs a slow introduction to feel safe. Cats?:  Unknown Kids?:  Older kids that respect boundaries - 12+ Training: Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car Knows sit and lay down Meet Olaf Olaf is a resilient, loyal boy with a remarkable backstory. He was found after falling through ice and was thankfully pulled to safety by a passerby. After spending two months in the shelter and a month in foster care, Olaf has shown both his incredible devotion to his people and the importance of the right structure and environment for him to thrive. Olaf is deeply bonded to his humans and is a true “shadow dog” — he wants to be wherever his people are and will follow you from room to room just to stay close. With his family, he is an affectionate, playful love bug who adores toys of all kinds. He especially enjoys fetch and tug-of-war, and he will happily entertain himself or engage with his people. Stuffed toys don’t last long in his world—he enjoys “deconstructing” them with enthusiasm. He is not a destructive chewer otherwise and can be trusted outside of a crate when appropriately settled in. He is crate trained for sleep and meals and does well with structure and routine. Olaf has good recall when going outside for potty breaks and is very engaged with his handler once he trusts you. He is also extremely strong and continues to improve with leash training. Olaf does have strong guarding instincts in the home and with his people, which is a known trait in his breed type. He is best managed with proper decompression, structure, and continued training. He is most successful when meeting new people outside of the home first and when introductions are slow and intentional. He does not do well with rushed introductions or being placed into high-stimulation environments too quickly. With time, guidance, and consistency, his guarding tendencies can be worked with and reduced. Due to his previous experiences, Olaf was returned after it was determined he would benefit from additional decompression time and structured training before being expected to navigate busy social situations or extended visits in new environments. He thrives when his boundaries are respected and he is given the time he needs to adjust. Olaf needs an experienced, confident dog owner—someone familiar with large, dominant breeds and comfortable providing calm, consistent leadership. He is not recommended for first-time giant breed owners. An adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy children is best. A fenced yard is strongly recommended, or alternatively, a very dedicated adopter committed to structured daily walks and exercise to help him burn energy. He may do best as an only dog, or with very slow, carefully managed introductions if other dogs are present. His adopter should be prepared to continue training focused on structure, boundaries, and guarding behaviors. Olaf is not a “plug and play” dog—but for the right person, he is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and deeply rewarding. Once he trusts you, he gives his whole heart. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online.
