Story
Mattis, the Cane Corso who was dumped after hours at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter with a fractured hind leg. At that time the only option for the shelter was to amputate. That was 2 months ago. Today the fabulous Dr. Hanson Neighborhood Veterinary Centers in Nederland, TX declared Mattis "free to chase squirrels again!" With a 70-80lb dog like Mattis, not only is the surgery difficult, but the RECOVERY is probably even more difficult but he’s made it!! Mattis is heartworm negative, about 2 years old, dog and cat tested! He is good to go!

Story
If you like them B I G and docile, this is the gal for you. This sweet princess came in needing a second chance after she ended up with our shelter partner. Her and a few of her friends were removed from a property in need of a second chance. Shyly is big and sweet. She is shy until she knows you, but never offers any concerning behavior. She walks well on the leash, is comfortable in a kennel, and is just a big baby. She is fine with dogs that are not overly excited and jumping on her. She will coexist with a lower energy dog perfectly. Due to her size she would do best in a home with kids over 10. This girl is about 3 and still has so much life to live. If you want a friend to help you get outside this summer, she would love a family to head out and adventure with. Come meet his sweet girl.

Story
Dog's Name: Gracie Location : Ft. Atkinson, WI Age or Date of Birth: July 2021 (estimate)Gender: FemaleBreed: Cane Corso MixFoster Dog's Weight: 86 lbs Gracie gets along with:Dogs?: All female and puppies Needs a slow introduction to other dogs.Cats?: Unknown but unlikely due to prey driveKids?:  Yes - would do best with slow introduction Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car Meet Gracie – A Loyal Heart Looking for Her Safe Place Gracie is passionate about protecting her people and her furry siblings as well as her environment. She enjoys spending her time relaxing or cuddling with the occasional rough housing session with her foster sister. She likes interactive toys with treats, but also likes to chew on cardboard or wood (will find it in yourhome if left alone). Gracie is selective of her playmates, but has and continues to show great strides with this with consistent training. New situations and busy environments can be overwhelming for Gracie, so she’s searching for a quiet home with an experienced adopter who understands guardian breeds and is committed to continuing her training with patience and consistency. Her protective nature makes her an excellent companion for someone seeking a devoted, one-on-one connection. Gracie does love chewing and needs to be kenneled or in an enclosed room when left alone.  She is muzzle trained for unfamiliar environments which helps her feel safe in unfamiliar situations.  It's important her future family is comfortable continuing this practice.  Gracie does love chewing and would need to be kenneled or in an enclosed room when left alone. Gracie isn’t looking for a social life—she’s looking for her person. Someone who will respect her boundaries, appreciate her loyalty, and give her the peaceful home she deserves. In return, she’ll be your fiercest protector and most loyal friend.  She will do best in a home with guardian breed experience.  Her adopter needs to be patient and allow her to adapt to her new environment at her own pace.  Gracie can be around children as long as they are old enough to understand and respect her boundaries. Gracie would be fine alone or in a house with another non-dominant medium or larger breed female (can be a puppy), but would not do well with smaller breeds as she sees them as prey, however she continues to show progress with accepting more dogs. While she doesn't require a fenced yard, it would be recommended as she does have a prey drive for smaller animals like squirrels.  To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue, you can visit https://justgiants.org/adopt/ to fill out an application.
