Story
Meet Minerva, aka Minnie! Minnie’s life took a turn when her elderly guardian moved and she lost her lifelong home. This shy tortie has been through a lot, but with patience, love, and maybe a little bribery in the form of treats, she’s finally starting to show her true personality. She’s not the type to rush into your arms—she likes to inspect, approve, and then maybe settle in—but once she decides you’re cool, she’s basically a velvety little lap heater with built-in purr engine. Minnie is classy, well-mannered, and quietly hilarious if you pay attention. She has impeccable litter box habits, keeps herself groomed like a tiny tortie fashionista, and loves her hideaway spots like a queen’s throne. A sunny window, a cozy cat tree, or a secret box? She approves. Need a companion who can silently judge your life choices but still cuddle you later? Minnie is your girl. Her perfect home is calm, indoor-only, without kids, and ideally as the one-and-only pet… though a gentle cat or dog who respects her space might get lucky. Vet visits? Not her fave—some mild sedation may be required—but the payoff is worth it: a cat who will gift you a lifetime of trust, soft purrs, and subtle sass. Minnie is currently in a loving foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved by AFRP staff. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to fill one out today!

Story
Meet Greg! Greg came to AFRP with his brothers Peter and Bobby (aka The Brady Bunch) from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. Born with eyelid agenesis, Greg and his brothers all had special eyelid reconstruction surgery, giving them a whole new perspective on life—literally. Greg’s start in life was a little rough—he couldn’t see well at first, which made the world a scary place—but don’t let that fool you. This sweet boy is gentle, loving, and full of quiet charm. Once he feels safe, he transforms into a laid-back superstar, often found sprawling on his back in a warm sunny spot like he owns the place. He’s basically a four-legged, purring sunbeam. Food? Absolutely a top priority. Greg will happily work for treats, savor every bite, and give you all the side-eye gratitude you could ask for. Toys? Yes, please. Greg enjoys gentle play with his favorite toys or mellow wrestling sessions with fellow feline friends. While he’s incredibly easygoing, he’s not the biggest fan of rambunctious animals—slow, careful introductions are a must. Greg would thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can lounge, snack, and sunbathe in peace. He could be your one-and-only, or he could share his chill vibes with another mellow cat or a dog-savvy, gentle pup. No matter what, he brings a level of zen and subtle sass that’s impossible not to love. ** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate! That means you can foster them for a short trial period to make sure they’re the perfect match for your home before finalizing the adoption. If you’re interested, please complete both a foster application and an adoption application so we can get the process started. ** Greg is currently in a loving foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved by AFRP staff. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to fill one out today!

Story
Meet Saffron! A chatty little wallflower with main-character energy. Saffron loves to talk (and squeak), especially in the mornings when she hears you wake up—cue rolling around, leg cuddles, and commentary. If the show you’re watching is really good, don’t be surprised if she starts watching too. She’s a certified pom-pom enthusiast with polite evening zoomies, a fan of cozy dark hideouts, and a professional camera blocker (every photo attempt = face in the lens). Shy at first, but once treats, pets, and hand-fed freeze-dried purrpops appear, she blossoms fast. Curious about other cats (and even fish!), possibly cool with a friendly cat or cat-savvy dog. Loves her own space, but will always pop out to say good morning—and good night. She's just a little shy, so she'd love to find a home with adult adopters, or with families who have cat-savvy children over the age of ten. Interested in Saffron? Story
Meet Gogo! Gogo came to us from the shelter with her three siblings, and while her story started with a full squad, she’s now found her forever bestie in her bonded brother Blackjack. These two are a packaged deal and ready to head home together. Gogo is a sweet, soft-hearted girl who likes to take things at her own pace. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she knows she’s safe, she absolutely melts into a total lovebug. Think gentle affection, quiet companionship, and lots of cozy moments as a reward for just a little bit of patience! She may do well with another calm, cat-savvy feline, and her experience with dogs is still unknown. Because she’s more on the sensitive side, Gogo would thrive best in a peaceful home without young children somewhere she can truly settle in and shine. As she is bonded with her brother, Blackjack, they are seeking a furever home together. 🎉 Great News! 🎉 Blackjack and Gogo’s adoption fee has been sponsored, meaning their adoption fee has been fully waived thanks to the generosity of a loving AFRP volunteer! ** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate! Story
Meet Autumn! Autumn came back to AFRP after her previous human couldn’t care for her anymore, and now she’s searching for a home where she can rule as queen of her castle. This senior lady is shy at first, fiercely independent, and has a healthy dose of diva energy—she’s the kind of cat who will silently judge your life choices, but we love her all the more for it. Head-butts and gentle scritches are always welcome, but forced cuddles? Not on her watch. She does things on her schedule, thank you very much. Even in her golden years, Autumn has plenty of personality. She enjoys strategically napping in sunny spots, surveying her domain from a perch, and occasionally reminding you who really runs the household with a perfectly timed side-eye. She’s curious about her humans’ activities, but always from a safe, comfortable distance until she feels ready to interact. Dogs? Not her thing. Other cats? Hmmm, not really into it. Adult-only homes are strongly preferred so she can reign supreme without distraction. Autumn is happiest when she can do life at her own pace, but those who earn her trust will be rewarded with soft purrs, gentle head-butts, and the occasional, delightful little “grumpy” charm that only torties can pull off. ** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate! Story
Meet Flower! Flower is a striking moo-cow beauty with a personality to match: sweet, spicy, and everything somewhat nice! She’s the kind of cat who will charm you with her affection one moment and remind you she has opinions the next. Flower feels things deeply and isn’t afraid to let you know how she’s feeling. Because of her temperamental nature, Flower is looking for an experienced cat guardian who understands feline boundaries and will love her through both her ups and her downs. She thrives in a calm, predictable environment where her signals are respected and her space is honored. Flower would do best as the only cat in the home and is not a match for children. She may do well with a neutral, cat-savvy dog who understands giving her space, but feline roommates are a no-go. For the right person, Flower will be a deeply rewarding companion: expressive, unique, and full of personality. If you appreciate a cat with a little spice and a lot of heart, Flower might just be your perfect match. ** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate!
