Ashlyn deserves all the credit on her looks as grooms herself mostly and a little help from her step brother. She is as soft as cotton and doesn't shed most the time. Obviously a + for people with allergies. She loves to snuggle, eat, play, relax and a very adaptable kitty to her surrounding. Willing to travel, does fine in a carrier for travel and walks.Unfortunately, a year ago Ashlyn was diagnosed with epilepsy, and not sure what caused it, as she is perfect health otherwise. She has been seen by a neurologist and continued vet care. Currently she takes Phenobarbital and Zonisamide twice daily. She knows the drill and actually reminds me that it's time for meds. Definitely treat driven, but takes meds gracefully.Recently, I lost my job and need to relocate out of the country. I am hoping to relocate Ashlyn to her next loving home. Is that family you?

Meet Oliver, the senior Siamese cat. Oliver’s prior guardian moved into assisted living and was unable to bring him with them. He previously lived with a female Siamese (Ember, who is also up for adoption) but he was a bit too rough for her. Because of this, we are looking for separate homes for Ember and Oliver. Oliver previously lived in fairly quiet home with an older individual. Oliver’s previous guardian reported that he can get overstimulated. A home with a cat-savvy adopter is recommended to ensure that Oliver’s body language is being observed and respected. Oliver loves to play with spring style toys. He used the litterbox reliably in his previous home. Oliver was indoor/outdoor in his previous home and may enjoy a similar set up in the next one. He should be kept indoors for a period of at least 30 days to acclimate to the new home before being left out. Oliver would likely do well in an indoor only home with daily mental and physical stimulation. He has been around dogs and does not appreciate their company so a dog free home is required. Meet Perky, the 14 year old spayed female tabby girl! Perky arrived to the Shelter after both of her guardians passed away, leaving no one to care for Perky. She had been adopted as a kitten from this Shelter in 2012 and loved very dearly by her guardians. Perky took some time to warm up to staff and volunteers at the Shelter. She is a distinguished gal that holds her cards close. When she gets to know someone, she starts to engage and show her soft, sweet side. Perky’s favorite activity in her previous home as sleeping. She has been indoors only her whole life and would like to keep up with a similar routine in the next home. She is not a fan of canines. Meet Griddle, the black and white kitten. Griddle arrived to the Shelter as a stray with their four littermates. A good Samaritan was taking a walk and saw these kittens. Concerned for their safety, she brought them to the Shelter. Initially nervous, Griddle bonds and warms up to people through play. Patient adopters who will give Griddle time and patience to warm up in their adoptive home would be the best fit. Griddle may enjoy a home with one of their littermates or a resident kitty (provided there is a slow, thoughtful introduction). To keep Griddle safe (as well as our local wildlife), an indoor only home is required moving forward.Griddle’s adoption fee is reduced by $20 thanks to the Bogey Fund – a fund that draws adopter’s eyes towards often overlooked black cats in the Shelter. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week!
