Sunbeam Date available: 7/11/26 Location: By appointment only. Please fill out an application. Sex: Male DOB: 4/7/26 Fur length: short Gets along with other cats/kittens. Type of food: Purina One ( dry) Fancy Feast ( wet) Littermates: Starlight, Shimmer Meet Sunbeam! Sunbeam is the ultimate orange goofball—an Energizer Bunny with a heart full of love. Be sure to read his full bio to learn about his medical journey and excellent prognosis. This sweet boy believes belly rubs, butt scritches, and tasty snacks are the keys to happiness. He absolutely loves his food and treats and will happily remind you when it's time for the next serving! He even comes looking for his medicine because he knows it's mixed into a Churu. Always on the move, Sunbeam is a curious little adventurer who wants to be involved in everything you do. He's a playful, silly guy who loves being by your side and enjoys all kinds of toys, especially fuzzy mice on fishing poles, crinkly balls, and wool balls. Once he's finished causing a little mischief and filling his belly, Sunbeam's favorite place is right with his person. He's a professional snuggler who will happily curl up on your lap and sleep for hours. Sunbeam does have one unique part of his story. When he was just 8 weeks old, he suddenly began having multiple seizures one evening. We rushed him to UC Davis Emergency Vet, where he was stabilized with medication. Once the right medication was found, he has not had a single seizure since. To determine the cause, Sunbeam underwent an extensive medical workup, including bloodwork and a brain MRI, all of which came back completely normal. He also completed precautionary treatment for possible bacterial and parasitic infections and has remained seizure-free since finishing those medications. Sunbeam currently takes his seizure medication twice a day like a champ! His neurologist recommends continuing it for about five more months before gradually weaning him off. Assuming he remains seizure-free, his prognosis is excellent. Sunbeam is looking for a forever home with a feline friend. He would thrive with another kitten or an active young adult cat who can keep up with his playful energy and share in all of his adventures. If you're looking for a loving, playful, food-motivated little orange ray of sunshine with an incredibly bright future, Sunbeam may be your perfect match! https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/IBRI/Cat

Story
Name: Zebra Date available: 07/25/26 at PetSmart on Fairway, Roseville Sex: F Age: 20 weeks Gets along with (Dogs, cats, kids): No kids, dogs and cats okay Type of food: Purina kitten chow with a spoonful of wet cat food at lunch. Littermate/Littermate Include: Honey Badger, Magpie, Penguin This Zebra wears her heart on her sleeve! Zebra is a fluffy girl with a lot of love to give. She is a bit shy when you first meet her, but she can open up very quickly and will steal your heart. She has lots of distinctive markings, including a heart that appears when she stands with her front legs together, a cute little black nose, and a long, feathered tail. She loves to play. Churu is the way to her heart. She isn’t a lap cat, but she does love gentle strokes on her back and to be right in the thick of things watching everyone and everything. She does well around other cats and was raised around dogs. She is probably not the best cat for families, but she would do well with a couple or single person who can give her the space she needs at first and the love she needs after she knows you. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/IBRI/Cat

Story
Name: Honey Badger Date available: 07/25/26 at PetSmart on Fairway, Roseville Sex: F Age: 20 weeks Gets along with (Dogs, cats, kids): Everyone, but loves other cats Needs a quiet, slow paced home Type of food: Purina kitten chow with a spoonful of wet cat food at lunch Littermate/Littermate Include: Zebra, Magpie, and Penguin Honey Badger Do you need a small, mustachioed and highly observant supervisor? She is a formerly spicy, now sweet girl–more honey than badger. She can be shy when you first meet her, but she loves to be cuddled up next to you after you get to know her and she is comfortable with you. She really enjoys being near you, including supervising everything you do. Don’t let the name mislead you: this Honey Badger DOES care. She might do well with someone who can push her out of her comfort zone a bit but will still give her plenty of space/time to adjust. She was raised around cats and dogs and loves to play. She would do well with other cats in a quiet, slow household. She also belongs around someone who understands her needs. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/IBRI/Cat

Story
Name: Cholula Date available: 8/7/26 Location: At Petsmart on Fairway Dr in Roseville Sex: Female Age: 14 weeks Furr length: Medium Hair No exposure to dogs or kids; may do ok with a slow introduction but probably would be better in a home with older children Type of food: Purina One Kitten Littermate: Tapatio Hi, I’m Cholula! My story starts a little differently than some kittens. I was found living in a junk yard, and when I first came into foster care, I was very scared. The world felt overwhelming, and my favorite place was somewhere safe and hidden away. My foster family didn’t give up on me. They gave me time, patience, and a quiet space where I could learn that humans can be kind. I’m still working on my confidence, but I’ve already made so much progress! I used to spend most of my time hiding under the bed, but now you can find me hanging out in my cat tree and exploring my room. The longer my foster human sits with me, the more I come out to investigate. I’ve even started purring a little and making biscuits on my cozy cat bed — which is my way of saying, “I’m starting to feel pretty comfortable here.” I’ll admit, I still like to remind my foster human that I’m a little spicy with an occasional hiss (I have a reputation to maintain!), but I don’t scratch and I still let them pet me. I’m learning that love and attention can be pretty nice. I’m looking for a patient family who understands that trust takes time. I may not run up and greet you on day one, but if you give me the space to blossom, you’ll get to watch a shy little kitten become a loving companion. I’m not a “perfect right away” kitten — I’m a “look how far I’ve come” kitten. And I think that makes me pretty special. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/IBRI/Cat

You might not believe it when you meet me now, but I started my journey as a very scared little kitten living in a junk yard. The world was a big, scary place, and I wasn’t sure if I could trust these strange humans who suddenly wanted to help me. Luckily, my foster humans gave me something every kitten deserves: time, space, patience, and lots (and lots!) of Churu treats. Slowly but surely, I discovered that indoor life is pretty amazing! These days, I’m a playful little guy who thinks every toy was invented just for me. Balls? Wand toys? Random things I find interesting? Yes, please! But my absolute favorite thing might be Churu treats. If you bring one out, don’t be surprised if I try to help you open it… or maybe just take it right out of your hand. I’m very passionate about snacks. After playtime, I turn into the sweetest cuddle buddy. I love curling up next to my people and purring away while I relax. I may need a little time to feel comfortable in a new home, but once I know I’m safe, you’ll see my silly, loving personality shine. I’m proof that a scared little kitten can become a happy house cat with a little patience and a lot of love. Could I be the spicy little companion you’ve been waiting for? https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/IBRI/Cat

Story
Maverick was acquired at Fat Kitty City in El Dorado Hills, CA as a rescue in 2023. He has lived indoor only for the last 3 years with 2 older cats. He would be best in a home with either young cats who like to play or as an only pet, sometimes his high energy levels can upset the older cats who want to be left alone. He is active and requires a good amount of attention or another young cat to play with. We are moving and are in need of rehoming him to a loving home.
