Story
TENNESSEE ADOPTION ONLY...NO TRANSPORT Meet Galileo: A Special Cat in Need of a Loving HomeGalileo is a charming and affectionate cat who joined us in January after the unfortunate passing of his previous owner in November. His journey to us was marked by resilience and survival, having been discovered by a neighbor in a home filled with other animals, devoid of food and water. Despite these challenging beginnings, Galileo is now thriving and ready to find his forever home.Galileo's StoryAfter a few days in our care, we noticed that Galileo seemed to have trouble with his eyesight. A visit to the veterinarian confirmed our suspicions: Galileo is blind. The cause of his blindness remains a mystery, and it may never be determined. Nevertheless, Galileo is a healthy cat full of life and energy.Special Needs and RequirementsDue to his blindness, Galileo requires a special home with an owner who is experienced in caring for cats with similar needs. He is incredibly sweet, loving, and intelligent, and he deserves a home where he can feel safe and comfortable. Although he gets along with other cats, we believe he might thrive best as the only cat in the household. However, we are open to considering different home settings on a case-by-case basis. What Galileo LovesGalileo has his own unique preferences and loves that bring him joy. Here are some of his favorite activities:Drinking from his fountain: Galileo enjoys the sound and feel of running water and takes great pleasure in drinking from his fountain.Playing with enrichment toys: Despite his blindness, Galileo is playful and loves interacting with toys that stimulate his senses. He has been neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. We are committed to finding the perfect match for Galileo and will carefully review potential adopters to ensure they meet his needs. If you believe your home could be the loving and nurturing environment Galileo needs, we would love to hear from you. Adopting Galileo not only means providing him with a home but also welcoming a loyal and loving companion into your life.https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=43

Story
~ I want to live with adults.~ I want to be the only pet so I can get all the attention.~ I am a quiet and reserved kitty. I would prefer a peaceful home.~ I have some special needs but still have lots of life to live and love to give. Please ask the adoption counselor to explain when you visit with me.Meet Miller Miller is a 10 year old, black and white, domestic longhair with a gentle soul and a big heart. Weighing 15.81 lbs, this handsome senior spent about a year as a stray before kind caregivers took him into their barn. During his time there, they shared that he was friendly, easygoing, and happiest simply lounging nearby. True to form, Miller will walk right up to you, rub against your legs, and settle in close. Miller is a low-energy companion who prefers people over solitude. He actively seeks out his humans and enjoys being near them, whether that’s relaxing on the couch or quietly keeping you company. He has a medium vocal level and isn’t shy about letting you know when he`d like attention or not. While he doesn’t love being picked up, he will gladly lay next to or partially on you. Gentle pets along his head and back are his favorite, just skip the belly and sides. If he drools a little while you’re petting him, it’s just his sweet way of showing contentment. Since loud noises can frighten him, Miller would do best in a quiet, peaceful home. An adult only household is ideal (respectful teens may be considered). He has experience both indoors and outdoors, but in his senior years he is looking for the safety and comfort of being an indoor-only cat. Miller is not a fan of other animals and would like a home where he can be the only king. He enjoys wand toys and crinkle toys but is mostly content to lounge and soak up companionship. He will need low-entry litter pans for comfort and has known medical conditions that require ongoing care. Our adoption counselors are happy to discuss the details with you. After having a rough go of life, Miller is searching for someone with a big heart who is willing to give him the love, patience, support, and comfort he deserves. In return, you’ll gain a devoted companion who just wants a cozy place to rest and a person to call his own. If you’re ready to make a meaningful difference in a sweet senior’s life, Miller is waiting.
