Story
Meet our litter of purr-fect kittens. They are 6 months old and are a Domestic Short Hair mixed breed. These kittens arrived to our shelter with Feline Herpes also known as rhinotracheitis. FHV-1 is an infectious virus that can infect cats of all ages. These kittens have been medicated, monitored closely by our veterinarian, and treated in foster care with antibiotics and eye meds. *Please note: this virus is NOT contagious to humans or dogs.* Their ideal families would be in low stress environments. Stressful environments can cause them to have flare ups that affect their eyes which will require eyes medication. We really hope this issue doesn't keep them from finding forever homes soon. These babies are not only the sweetest kittens, but they are super outgoing. Please consider opening your home and hearts to medical cats in need. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO STRINGENT OUT OF STATE HEALTH CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS WE ARE NOW ONLY ADOPTING TO RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS*. We apologize for the inconvenience. HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: 1. Come in during adoption hours to apply and full out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Wednesday 3-7pm, Thursday/Friday 12-2pm, and Saturday 10am-2pm. 2. We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord. 3, We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets. Helpful reminders: *We do not do same day adoptions. *Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in. *We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date. PLEASE do not bring your dog with you when you come in to apply.

Story
Meet Big Gym Gym is an 8 year old male black and white Tuxedo cat weighing in at 16 lbs! Gym has diabetes and needs insulin shots twice a day (every 12 hours). He needs to be on a low carb diet, but it doesn’t have to be anything fancy (see provided list) most you can find in a grocery store or places like Petco. He is super friendly and will most likely be a big lap cat! He loves to be pet and receive affection. He doesn’t mind being picked up, though he is a large boy. He could stand to lose some weight, which may also improve his diabetes. He doesn’t mind dogs or other cats. He is just a big ball of joy and anyone would be lucky to have him as an addition to their family! To apply to adopt Big Gym: handsomedansrescue.org

Story
Meet Atticus Finch! Behold, the king of the cat room! Atticus is the most talkative cat ever and says hi to anyone he sees. He is full of so much life and energy for his age, and incredibly friendly! He's highly food motivated and could eat all day if he could. Atticus is FeLV+, and concerns can be discussed in detail with our cat team. He should be the only cat in the home, but he might like a cat-savvy dog friend! Kids aged 10+. With questions about Atticus, or any of our other adoptable cats, please contact Olivia at owarburton@rispca.com
