Story
Sneezy is a sweet, playful little girl who is a bit shy. She is bonded with her sister, Happy, and they must be adopted together. Sneezy is a bit shy and will take some time to warm up. She needs a patient adopter and a calm home that will respect her quieter demeanor and allow her to feel safe. Once she warms up to you, she is very affectionate and playful. Her foster mom writes, " It will take some time for them to warm up to you but when they do they will love you. They love running around and playing and they love to cuddle with you on the bed. Laying with me and purrrring is their favorite thing 🩷🩷" The total adoption fee for Happy and Sneezy together is $500.

Story
Grandson was left behind when his family moved. Neighbors found him living outside and brought him to our rescue. When he was first brought in, he was very scared and seemed depressed but he began to thrive immediately upon being placed in a foster home. He is very cuddly and affectionate with his foster mom and gets along well with the other cats and dog in the home. Grandson is a big boy, weighing in at nearly 15 pounds.

Story
Meet Morris, your future orange best friend! This handsome guy’s previous family says he’s very friendly, super affectionate, talkative, and playful—basically the full orange cat experience. Morris loves being petted and will happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. He enjoys being around his people and likes to keep you company, whether that means chatting with you or curling up nearby. One of his favorite pastimes is sitting in the window, watching birds and squirrels like it’s his personal reality TV show. He’s lived with three other cats before and did well, so he may be open to sharing his home with a feline friend (with proper introductions, of course). If you’re looking for a sweet, social, affectionate cat who wants to be part of the family and fill your home with purrs and conversation, Morris might be your perfect match! Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. Story
Sophie came to Dakin with her friends Manny and Minnie when their person had to move. She's very sweet and very talkative when you feed her. She loves being loved by you, enjoys being petted all over (tummy excluded). And she'll let you pick her up when she's in the mood. Sophie is accustomed to living indoors with adults and teens, as well as cats and a dog. She enjoyed romping with her feline friends but avoided the dog. Sophie plays gently and likes a variety of toys, especially wand toys. If there was an Olympic category for cuteness, she'd definitely be gold medal material. Looking to add a furry friend to your home? Sophie might be the one for you! Ready to Adopt? Story
Manny came to Dakin with his friends Minnie and Sophie when their person had to move. Manny adores being picked up and petted anywhere (tummy excluded!) One of his favorite pastimes is romping with his feline friends, but he gave the resident dog a "paws down" and just avoided him. He is accustomed to living indoors with adults and teens. Looking for a handsome little tuxedo to join your household? Manny may be your purrfect little match! Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. Ready to Adopt?
