Story
Smokey is a sweetheart of a cat who had a rough start in life. He was removed from a hoarding situation with 20 cats in a small apartment. He very rarely received any attention or affection and spent most of his time hiding in a kitchen cabinet. In spite of this, he is a super loving, affectionate, and gentle cat. It took him a few days to feel safe in a foster home, but once he came out of his shell, he can't get enough pets and affection. He gives head butts for more pets or jumps up to touch his head to your palm to signal that he would like More Petting Please! He isn't a pest about it, however, and will happily curl up on the couch beside you or on the floor or a cozy bed while you work, watch tv, read, etc. He is an all-around good-natured cat who gets along well with other cats and would probably be okay with a calm, cat-savvy dog, with a slow and careful introduction. Smokey would do best in a calm household with people who want to show him the affection he missed out in in his first couple of years of life. He is all black except for the toes of one foot, which look like he dipped them in a can of white paint.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Mikey came from a home with several other cats. These sweet kitties can be shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience and time to settle in, personalities begin to come out. Because they enjoy the company of other cats, they should do well in homes with feline friends as long as adopters provide a slow introduction. He is a shy boy who needs someone who will be patient and gain his trust. He does enjoy pets from his foster caregivers, especially cheek rubs. The cat you are adopting is very shy. Patience and a gentle approach will be necessary to form a bond and help this cat feel that they are safe in their new environment. This means that the cat is likely to not want to interact with you at first and will need time to settle in and relax. It is likely to take weeks to months for this cat to become comfortable in your home. Even once settled, they may always be a shy cat who runs from visitors. In order to have the best chance at creating a lasting bond with your new cat, you must go at their pace. When you get home, this cat should be set up in one room of your home, with a door that will stay shut while the cat adjusts. They should be offered a variety of foods and plenty of appropriate hiding places to help them feel safe during this transition. The cat should not be let out of their room until they seem like they are making progress and seem to want to explore more of the house. Ready to Adopt? Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Miss Kitty is an independent lady with a big personality and an even bigger love for pets… on her terms, of course. She enjoys attention and will happily soak up head scratches and affection, but she’s also great at setting boundaries—when she’s had enough, she’ll give a little swat to let you know it’s time for a break. Because of this, she would do best in an adult-only home or with experienced cat guardians who understand and respect feline body language. When she’s not supervising her humans, Miss Kitty loves to play! Wand toys are her absolute favorite, and she’ll happily chase, pounce, and show off her skills. After a good play session, she enjoys the simple pleasures in life: cozy cat naps and a good meal. Miss Kitty prefers to be the star of the show. She can be nervous around dogs and hasn’t met other cats yet. If you’re looking for a confident, playful, and delightfully sassy companion who will keep life interesting, Miss Kitty might just be your perfect match! Sassy cats are usually confident, intelligent and active. They often don’t like to be held, or have places on their bodies that they prefer not to be touched. When handled or petted in ways they do not prefer, they are likely to swat, nip or bite. They will be happiest in adult only homes or those with older kids who understand cats that have rules and will leave them alone. If they are bored then they may get into trouble and often need extra playtime in order to be their best selves. Sassy cats will go home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for EVERYONE in the home to be happy. Typically, sassy cats are not for first-time cat owners. This cat has specific litterbox needs. When you bring this cat home they will need to be set up in a room by themselves. This cat will go home with a behavior plan that you will need to follow in order for them to use the litterbox reliably. Ready to Adopt? Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Parker is ready to park her bum in a new home. Her previous owner unfortunately passed so she is looking for a safe landing after losing her best friend. She is friendly, quiet, and a big couch potato. She loves being brushed, and enjoys cuddling on your lap. She is shy to new people and environments so she will need time to open up. She's lived with cats and children but wasn't too fond of them. She may do best as the only cat in the home. Her foster says she loves to lay on your lap and make biscuits while purring, sometimes greets you with a meow or a chirp, and loves to rub up against you and get pet from cheek to butt! Parker is currently being managed for a urinary condition and would likely do best in a quiet, lower stress home. Our adoption team would be happy to talk with you more about her ongoing care needs. Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. Ready to Adopt?
