Story
Our barn cat program is for our cats that take part in the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program but can't be returned to their communities because of danger or lack of care. These are our less social cats that don't crave the company of people, at least at this point in their lives. These cats are peaceful, easy to care for, and make friends easily with other farm animals. Pictured is our lovely Chula who was adopted as a mouser for the family chicken coop. The family followed the relocation instructions and Chula became queen of the land! Like Chula, many families that have adopted a barn cat report that the cats have become friendly over time and bonded with the other animals as well has the people. Most often, the cats are delivered in pairs by our volunteer that settle the cats in and provide instructions for you to follow. All agree that it is very rewarding to give a home and freedom to a less fortunate cat who just by chance was born without a human hand. Please fill out our application from our website and call 860-479-5173. Thank you!

Story
He is a sweet, loving boy. He has been my healer in my worst moments. I have to find him a new home due to my severe allergies that I have been experiencing in the past year. He loves to play with tenis balls and loves treats . He loves taking showers but it’s on his terms. ( he hopes in the shower while your showering ) . This has been his only home since he was born and he loves to be petted once he stops being shy.

Story
Mona Lisa is our gorgeous, young mama cat. She came to us with six kittens. She also nurtured some kittens that were not hers. Mona is a love! She is affectionate, happy, grateful and she loves attention. Mona is always right there with her foster mom and dad. She also made friends easily their two cats , Bear and Fiona. She even charmed Fiona who is not nice to any cats. Mona occasionally does the 'test swatting' where she will slap you to see if she can trust you. Those are becoming more rare though as her survival guard is down and she is enjoying life without a care. She's really a wonderful girl and a little gem. Please fill out an application for our beautify on our website at www.hucatrescue.org. Thank you!

Story
Licorice is a little darling. She is a beautiful chocolate brown tabby. She's a little reserved at first but she warms up quickly. Her eyes are a little hazy so it could be that she needs time to focus but she is rambunctious and busy like the rest of the kittens in her foster home. She is in a foster home with her brother Peppermint, the her friends; Turtle, Bolton, Bristol, Brooklyn, Buttons and Bowes so she has lots of experience with other cats and she likes her own attention too. Please fill out an application on our website at www.hucatrescue.org. Thank you! YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR MEET AND GREET ADOPTION EVENT THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 28TH AT PETCO, 188 KITTS LANE IN NEWINGTON.
