Story
Our barn cat program is for our cats that take part in the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program but can't be returned to their communities because of danger or lack of care. These are our less social cats that don't crave the company of people, at least at this point in their lives. These cats are peaceful, easy to care for, and make friends easily with other farm animals. Pictured is our lovely Chula who was adopted as a mouser for the family chicken coop. The family followed the relocation instructions and Chula became queen of the land! Like Chula, many families that have adopted a barn cat report that the cats have become friendly over time and bonded with the other animals as well has the people. Most often, the cats are delivered in pairs by our volunteer that settle the cats in and provide instructions for you to follow. All agree that it is very rewarding to give a home and freedom to a less fortunate cat who just by chance was born without a human hand. Please fill out our application from our website and call 860-479-5173. Thank you!

Story
Meet Munchkin, my adorable short hair. He needs a temp home where he can be loved and cared for until I am able to get my own apartment. My mom is moving out and can't take him with her. I can't have him where I live since my sister already has two cats. As of right now he will most likely need to be re-trained in his own box. My sister moved back in with mom and brought 5 cats in an emergency move home. He was only ever accustomed to 1 other cat. Since then he was bullied out of the box and is not comfortable using one unless he is the only cat. I was not able to stay or take him along with me when this occurred so I am need of help with my precious Munchkin. The cat that was gifted to me as a kitten in one of my lowest points and was always wanting to be in my arms or near me. To the person who is willing to take him in and help him I would be so grateful, I will not ask for anything in return, just that I can see him a few times a week and take him back when I have accommodation.

Story
Rehoming bonded pair. This is Bean (orange and white) and Munchkin (gray black and white). Both are boys. Our landlord is selling the house where we currently live and we are forced to move and can’t take them with us. They are really great cats and this is a sad decision to have to make. They are around 3-4 years old. Munchkin is fixed. Bean is not. They are a bonded pair so ideally I would want them to stay together if possible. Message me for more details.

Story
Calvin and Hobbs are Olives sweet little boys. They are energetic and fun loving. Hobbs has some scarring in his eye from the common virus that most cats get. Some cats react to it more than others, thus the case with Hobbs. The ophthalmologist feels that the eye will heal but leave a little scarring. If he should need surgery when he is older, we would set that up through our vet for you. Right now, he is having a blast. The boys do not have to go together because they are so much alike. Please fill out an application on our website at www.hucatrescue.org. Thank you!

Story
Olive is our stunning, mama kitty. She came to us with her handsome boys Calvin and Hobbs and an adorable little girl, Arya, who she adopted. Olive is has a beautiful princess personality. She is respectful of other cats but she does not crave to be with them so she would be fine in a multi cat home or as a spoiled only cat. She seeks out her foster mom and is getting more and more social now that she is done with her kittens. A lovely, pleasant personality. Please fill out an application on our website at www.hucatrescue.org. Thank you!

Story
Freddie is another sweet rescue from the streets. He had been begging for food in a parking lot is Hartford for quite some time. Surely, he was on his way to becoming a beaten-up, ill tom cat. Luckily, our volunteer kept an eye on him and had an opening to take him home to her clean and safe cozy haven for their rescues. Freddie fits right in with all of their cats and he does well with the dogs too as you can hear in the video. Freddie is getting more confidence and trusting. He even greets guests now. He allows a few pets then scoots off to be with his buddy. He is blossoming and gaining socials skills. He would love a home with other playmates. A really sweet boy! Please fill out an application for Freddie on our website at www.hucatrescue.org. Thank you!
