Story

Our barn cat program is for our cats that take part in the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program but can't be returned to their communities because of danger or lack of care. These are our less social cats that don't crave the company of people, at least at this point in their lives. These cats are peaceful, easy to care for, and make friends easily with other farm animals. Pictured is our lovely Chula who was adopted as a mouser for the family chicken coop. The family followed the relocation instructions and Chula became queen of the land! Like Chula, many families that have adopted a barn cat report that the cats have become friendly over time and bonded with the other animals as well has the people. Most often, the cats are delivered in pairs by our volunteer that settle the cats in and provide instructions for you to follow. All agree that it is very rewarding to give a home and freedom to a less fortunate cat who just by chance was born without a human hand. Justice is an adorable little guy. He is very outgoing and confident; affectionate and sweet. He purred through his vet visit and made an impression on our veterinarian. Justice in doing a great job socializing the scared kittens that come in this time of year. He welcomes them. He makes them feel safe and teaches them to play. He walks with them leaning against them to comfort them. He is now 16 weeks old. He can be paired up with his sister Freedom or any other kittens such as our sweet, shy kitten Larry. He will easily adjust to any home. Justice is fully vetted. He's had his distemper plus two boosters, rabies shot and neutered. All at the low price of $250. Freedom is a stunning 16 week old Maine Coon mix. Now that her very outgoing sisters have gone home, we can really see the sweetness and beauty of her personality. Freedom is sensitive and sweet. She loves to nurture the scared kittens such as Larry. She saw that Larry was nervous at our showing so she laid next to him and put her paws on him. A sweetheart! She can be paired with her brother Justice or our adorable scared kittens Larry if you do not have other pets. Freedom is fully vetted. Oscar is a sweet young boy that was neglected and left to wonder as so many young males do if they are not neutered. Luckily for him that he is so friendly and found help right away by crying at a nice person's home. He is adorable; social, vocal, easygoing, fine with other cats. A wonderful boy. Oscar does test positive for FIV antibodies. Only 3% of cats actually develop active FIV. More cats pass away of cancers and there is no test for those so we hope his positive result will not detour you from offering this sweet boy a home. Story

Misty is an exotic, blue/cream tortoiseshell. It's a color lighter than a dilute tortie and it's more rare. Misty was abandoned when people moved out of their apartment three years ago. She was just a young teen then. She was fed by people and had a shelter but was not spayed. We found out about Misty and went to help her and her two adorable little rascals, Dewy and Sunny. Dewy took her blue color and Sunny took her cream color. They are adorable. Misty has a frost bitten ear and a pot belly from having so many litters. She is still beautiful with her emerald eyes. Misty is so calm and pleasant. She's only ever been a mom yet she greets you and she chirps and purrs all the time. She is very friendly and social and vocal. She has lots of stories to tell. Mostly she is calm and grateful. Misty does not seems to like other cats. I'm sure she has had many rough encounters with other cats and dogs so we are searching for a home where she can be an only kitty and be pampered. Misty loves her foster dad and people in general.
