Story
Bruno is a very cute and friendly boy who loves the simple things in life—lounging around, getting cozy, and enjoying a good nap. When he’s not snoozing, you can find him having fun with his favorite toys and showing off his playful side. Bruno has done well with kids and would make a wonderful companion for a family looking for a sweet, easygoing cat. He has not lived with other animals, so if there are resident pets in his future home, a slow and gradual introduction is recommended to help everyone adjust comfortably. If you’re looking for a lovable lounge buddy who is always ready for a nap, some playtime, or a little companionship, Bruno may be your perfect match! ❤️ Ready To Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. Story
Cupid Shuffle is a sweet and loving boy looking for a family to call his own! He came in with his brother, Cotton Eye Joe, and the two have done wonderfully together. They used to love playing and wrestling with each other, and Cupid Shuffle has also lived successfully with other cats. Cupid Shuffle is friendly and affectionate with his family and absolutely loves pets and hugs. He enjoys being close to his people and would love a home where he can soak up plenty of attention. He also has a playful side and enjoys having fun with his feline friends. Like his brother, Cupid Shuffle can be a little nervous around new people, so he may need some time and patience to feel comfortable in a new home. Once he gets to know you, he’ll show you just how sweet he can be! If you’re looking for an affectionate companion who loves cuddles, playtime, and spending time with his people, Cupid Shuffle might be your perfect match! The cat you are adopting is very shy. Patience and a gentle approach will be necessary to form a bond and help this cat feel that they are safe in their new environment. This means that the cat is likely to not want to interact with you at first and will need time to settle in and relax. It is likely to take weeks to months for this cat to become comfortable in your home. Even once settled, they may always be a shy cat who runs from visitors. In order to have the best chance at creating a lasting bond with your new cat, you must go at their pace. When you get home, this cat should be set up in one room of your home, with a door that will stay shut while the cat adjusts. They should be offered a variety of foods and plenty of appropriate hiding places to help them feel safe during this transition. The cat should not be let out of their room until they seem like they are making progress and seem to want to explore more of the house. Ready To Adopt?
