Story
Mr. Fredricksen may share a name with the famously grumpy character from the movie `Up!`, but this kitten is all heart and softness. Calm, affectionate, and quietly charming, Mr. Fredricksen is the cozy counterbalance to his brother’s boundless energy — the warm armchair at the end of a long adventure. He loves gentle play, thoughtful exploration, and long cuddle sessions, often found curled up with Russel like two balloons tied to the same house. Mr. Fredricksen has a nurturing soul and seems happiest when he’s close to his people or his brother, soaking in affection and companionship.Like his brother Russel, Mr. Fredricksen has been fostered with dogs and did very well, making him a wonderful fit for a dog-friendly home with slow, thoughtful introductions. His dream ending? A home where he and Russel can stick together!Mr. Fredricksen is currently up to date on vaccinations and flea and tick preventative, has been neutered, microchipped, and examined by our vet team. For more information on Mr. Fredricksen or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.

Story
Meet Russel! “Adventure is out there!”True to his `Up` namesake, Russel approaches life like a badge-earning Wilderness Explorer, bravely tackling every new toy, tunnel, and climbing opportunity with enthusiasm and joy. Russel is playful, energetic, and endlessly adventurous. He loves zooming around the room, pouncing on imaginary enemies, and recruiting his favorite adventure companion — his brother, Mr. Fredricksen — for every mission. When he’s not exploring, he’s plotting the next big escapade (usually involving toys and snacks). Russel has been fostered with dogs and did wonderfully, proving he’s ready to earn his “I live with dogs” badge too, with proper introductions. While Russel would thrive in an active, fun-loving home, his happiest ending would be continuing his greatest adventure alongside Mr. Fredricksen — because every good explorer needs a loyal co-pilot.Russel is currently up to date on vaccinations and flea and tick preventative, has been neutered, microchipped, and examined by our vet team. For more information on Russel or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. Good with kids,
Story
Meet Galileo 🌟 — your future favorite orange tabby! Galileo is a 1½-year-old orange tabby with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s been with us since the end of July, arriving after being found with a wound of unknown origin. After completing a four-month quarantine, he’s now healthy, cleared, and more than ready to find a forever home. This guy is the total package. Galileo is super sweet, incredibly funny, and surprisingly smart—the kind of cat who keeps you laughing with his antics and then melts your heart by curling up for affection. He loves being around people and has a charming way of making himself the center of attention (in the best possible way). Galileo is curious, confident, and full of life. Whether he’s investigating his surroundings, showing off his cleverness, or just being an all-around great companion, he’s always a joy to be around. If you’re looking for a loving, entertaining, and downright wonderful cat to share your life with, Galileo is ready to be your star. ⭐

Story
Blessing and his siblings have definitely been blessed! They were found by a good samaritan who contacted Dakin's volunteers who help community cats and were promptly placed in foster care. Now they are warm and cozy, a far cry from the blustery winds of the cold winter days. Blessing and his sister Thankful are the two remaining kittens in the litter and are looking forward to their next big move: adoption! Because they are very shy, they are considered "Tiny Spirit Kittens." Blessing is a little braver than his sister and will be the first to go exploring. He is very sweet, but needs someone who is patient and will let him move at his own pace. If you're thinking about adopting multiple kittens, Blessing and Thankful would make a delightful addition to your home. A “Tiny Spirit Kitten” is a feral or extremely shy kitten that has had no socialization with people in their first few months of life. These kittens will vary in terms of becoming social in their new homes; some may become very sweet and outgoing, while others may only ever trust you and no one else. They will all take patience, dedication and hard work to help them adjust into home life. Confinement to a single small room with a litter box, food, and water is a must. They do well in a home with other animals and, depending on the kitten, may even do well with children. They will go home with specific instructions that will need to be followed in order for everyone to have a successful transition. Want to see what the process would look like if you take one of these kitties home? Check out the Kitten Lady’s video by clicking on the video link, up with the photos above! Ready to Adopt a Kitten? (Kittens in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT SIGHT UNSEEN If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the kitten first, we can help over the phone or by email. (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. Kittens are adopted on a first come, first served basis, and we’re not able to place holds on them. All kitten adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccination (if over 12 weeks of age) -current on distemper vaccines (will need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us.
