Story
Meet Maddie! Maddie was found as a stray with her brother, due to this we do not have much history about her. With Maddie being so young, she would likely do well in any kind of home as long as a slow introduction is set in place for everybody's comfortability. Maddie would love to meet you and, hopefully, come home with you soon! Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.

Meet Coconut! Coconut was found as a stray and is ready to find her next place to call her own. Due to Coconut having been found as a stray we do not have much history on her, we can tell you she approached her caretakers right away and seems to love head and chin pets. Coconut would likely do well in any kind of home as long as a slow introduction is set in place for everybody's comfortability. Coconut would love to meet you and, hopefully, meet you soon!
