Story
I’m a 12-year-old lady who has spent my whole life with the same person. Sadly, my owner passed away, and suddenly everything I’ve ever known has changed. As you can imagine, this new chapter is a little scary for me. I’m shy when I first meet people and may find a cozy hiding spot when I’m feeling unsure. I can be afraid of new faces, but once I’ve had time to learn that you’re safe, I start letting my sweet side show. ❤️ One of my favorite things is being brushed—it’s a wonderful way to help me relax and build trust with you. I’ve never lived with other animals, so we don’t really know how I would feel about sharing my home. What I do know is that I’d love a quiet, patient home where I can settle in at my own pace without being rushed. I’ve lost the only home and person I’ve ever known. Now I’m hoping someone special will give this senior girl the chance to feel safe and loved again. Could you be my second chance?   I am  part of the Take A Chance On Me program, which means my adoption fee is lowered to help me find the right match. If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org.    Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.   As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.September 10, 2026, 4:10 pm

Story
I’m a 9-month-old girl with a playful spirit, a curious heart, and just the right amount of sweetness. I love spending time with my people, whether we’re playing with toys, exploring the house, or curling up together at bedtime. In fact, one of my favorite places to sleep is right beside my person. Like many young cats, I can be a little shy now and then, and I might hide while I check out a new place. But don’t worry—it doesn’t take long before my social side shines through and I’m ready to be part of the fun. I do have one silly kitten habit I’m still working on—I sometimes think human hands are toys! Because I’m young and playful, I’ll need a family that’s willing to gently redirect me to appropriate toys and help me learn that hands are for petting, not playing. With consistency and patience, I’ll catch on in no time. I’m looking for a family who will enjoy my playful personality, understand that I may need a moment to settle in, and appreciate having a loyal little bedtime buddy. If you’re searching for a young cat who is equal parts fun, affectionate, and adorable, I think we might be the perfect match. If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org.    Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.   As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.  September 10, 2026, 4:10 pm

Story
I’m a 1-year-old girl with a playful side, an independent spirit, and a heart that’s still learning how wonderful people can be. I came from a hoarding situation where I didn’t get as much human interaction as I needed when I was young. Because of that, I can be shy and unsure around people. I’m making progress, but I need someone who understands that I get to decide when I’m ready for affection.  Once I’m comfortable, you’ll see more of my playful and outgoing personality come through! I’m also a pretty independent girl, so I’m perfectly happy doing my own thing sometimes. Want to know one of my favorite things? Other cats! I especially seem to enjoy the company of the boys. Having a friendly feline buddy around might even help me feel more confident. And if you really want to impress me, bring out the Churu! That’s definitely one way to start earning my trust. I’m looking for a patient, understanding person who won’t expect too much from me too quickly. Give me time, kindness and the freedom to blossom at my own pace. I may make you work a little harder for my heart…but that will make earning it even more special.    I am  part of the Take A Chance On Me program, which means my adoption fee is lowered to help me find the right match. Story
Hi, I’m Salvatore!  Life threw me a curveball when I was left in a carrier on the doorstep of the shelter. I don’t know why my previous family couldn’t keep me, but I’d like to believe they hoped someone would help me. Thankfully, a volunteer happened to be working, so I didn’t have to spend long outside before I was safe. Now that I’m here, everyone has discovered what a sweetheart I am. I’m a friendly, easygoing guy who enjoys making new friends—especially if they come with gentle pets and kind words. And if you happen to have a little catnip? Well, you’ve officially become my favorite person! Watching me roll around in pure catnip bliss is guaranteed to make you smile. I’m an adult cat with plenty of love left to give. I may have had an uncertain start to this chapter, but I’m ready to leave that behind and find a family who will never wonder if I’m worth keeping. I promise to fill your home with purrs, affection, and a whole lot of charm. Could you be the happy ending I’ve been waiting for?   If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org.    Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.   As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.September 10, 2026, 4:10 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Prince!   I’m a handsome 4-year-old guy with bright eyes, a playful spirit, and a serious love for catnip. If there’s a catnip toy nearby, chances are I’ll be the first one to claim it!   I’m friendly, outgoing, and enjoy meeting new people. I like attention, playtime, and being involved in whatever is going on around me. Most people who meet me are surprised by what a social and fun cat I am.   I ended up at the shelter after I unexpectedly attacked my owner while they were sleeping. Because of this, I’m looking for a cat-savvy adopter who understands that some cats come with quirks and are willing to take the time to get to know me and help me succeed.   I do well with dogs, but I’m not a match for a home with small children. What I need most is an experienced owner who will appreciate my good qualities, respect my boundaries, and love me for who I am.   If you’re looking for a playful, outgoing companion and have experience with cats who may need a little extra understanding, I just might be the Prince you’ve been waiting for.
