Story
semi-feral & learning life one tiny step at a timeHi, I’m Gracie — a semi-feral girl with a gentle spark. I’m 2 years old and have been at the shelter since April, slowly learning to trust the world. I came in with very little experience around people, so I’m still skeptical of humans, but I’m beginning to come around — tiny steps, quiet moments, and lots of patience go a long way with me.   I do best in a calm, low-activity home with someone who understands that progress won’t happen overnight. Because I’m semi-feral and still unsure about hands, you can gently pet me with a scratcher for now — it helps me feel safe while we build our bond. With continued socializing, I’m showing more and more curiosity and softness each day.   I’m part of the Take A Chance On Me program, which means my adoption fee is lowered to help me find the right match.    If you are interested in adopting, please fill put an application online at  ahimsahaven.org .    Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.   As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 9:47 am

Story
Hi… we’re Nina and Maxie. We’re 8-month-old bonded siblings looking for a quiet, loving home where we can grow up together. We’ve been by each other’s side since day one, and we feel safest when we’re snuggled up in a cozy pile of fur.   We’re very shy at first and the shelter can feel big and scary to us. But if you move slowly and speak softly, we’ll let you gently pet us. With a little patience and love, we know we’ll keep getting braver every day. We just need someone willing to give us the time and socialization we didn’t get enough of early on.   Our favorite thing in the world? Curling up together for naps. We groom each other, comfort each other, and remind each other that everything is going to be okay. That’s why we need to be adopted as a pair — we’re each other’s confidence and heart.   We’re still kittens at 8 months old, and we dream of discovering toys, sunny windowsills, and soft beds in a real home. Although the people are great here and service is ok, we don’t want to spend the rest of our kitten days growing up in the shelter. We want to learn what it feels like to truly belong.   If you have a calm home, a gentle touch, and a little patience, we promise to blossom for you. And while we may start out shy, the quiet love of two grateful kitties is something truly special.   If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org.

Story
Meet Ghost & Sarah, two youthful felines  at the age of 1 who share an inseparable bond.  These timid souls have found comfort in each other's company within the shelter's walls. Ghost is shy, preferring quiet corners and soft whispers. He's a gentle spirit, seeking a patient companion to draw him out of his shell.  Sarah, on the other hand, is a fiery spirit. She's quick to hiss and lunge, but don't be fooled. Beneath her tough exterior lies a cat in need of affection and love.   They need a loving home that can provide patience and understanding. Adopting Ghost and Sarah will not only offer them a chance at a happy life, but also bring an exciting blend of tranquility and vivacity to yours. Let their journey of trust and love begin with you. Story
Hello… I’m Platypus  I’m a 5 year old girl looking for a quiet, understanding home where I can finally feel safe and settled. I have a very gentle, quiet spirit. I’m not quite ready for hands-on affection yet, and I may never be the kind of cat who seeks out constant petting—but I truly enjoy being near my person. Sitting in the same room, sharing peaceful, quiet moments… that’s where I’m happiest. What I need most is patience, kindness, and a calm environment where I can continue to feel safe and understood at my own pace. I may not ask for much, but I promise to bring a soft, comforting presence into your home. If you’re someone who appreciates quiet companionship, I might just be your perfect match    I’m part of the Take A Chance On Me program, which means my adoption fee is lowered to help me find the right match. Story
Hi, I’m O.C. — a 12-year-old gentleman with a heart full of love and a little extra need to share it.   I lost my person, and that’s been really hard… but I haven’t stopped believing there’s someone out there for me again. I’m a loving, friendly boy who just wants to be near you. I’ll follow you from room to room, gently reminding you I’m here (and that pets are always a good idea). I’m the kind of companion who’s happiest right by your side, soaking up affection and giving it right back. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet shadow who will love you with his whole heart, I’m your O.C.  I’m part of the Take A Chance On Me program, which means my adoption fee is lowered to help me find the right match. Story
Hi… we’re Lucy & Bobbi    We’re a pair of one-year-old sisters with a bond as strong as our namesakes. Life has made us a little shy, so we like to take things slow and get to know you on our terms. But don’t let that fool you—we’re curious girls who do want love… we just need a patient heart to help us feel safe. Once we trust you, you’ll see our sweet sides come out in the quiet moments—soft looks, gentle closeness, and those little “hey, we choose you” visits. We’re looking for a calm home that understands we’re a work in progress and worth every bit of the love you give. If you have a little patience and a lot of kindness, we promise… we’ll be your girls    Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.   As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2026, 7:27 pm
