Story
Hi… we’re Nina and Maxie. We’re 8-month-old bonded siblings looking for a quiet, loving home where we can grow up together. We’ve been by each other’s side since day one, and we feel safest when we’re snuggled up in a cozy pile of fur.   We’re very shy at first and the shelter can feel big and scary to us. But if you move slowly and speak softly, we’ll let you gently pet us. With a little patience and love, we know we’ll keep getting braver every day. We just need someone willing to give us the time and socialization we didn’t get enough of early on.   Our favorite thing in the world? Curling up together for naps. We groom each other, comfort each other, and remind each other that everything is going to be okay. That’s why we need to be adopted as a pair — we’re each other’s confidence and heart.   We’re still kittens at 8 months old, and we dream of discovering toys, sunny windowsills, and soft beds in a real home. Although the people are great here and service is ok, we don’t want to spend the rest of our kitten days growing up in the shelter. We want to learn what it feels like to truly belong.   If you have a calm home, a gentle touch, and a little patience, we promise to blossom for you. And while we may start out shy, the quiet love of two grateful kitties is something truly special.   If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org.    Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.   As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 9:47 am

Story
Meet Ghost & Sarah, two youthful felines  at the age of 1 who share an inseparable bond.  These timid souls have found comfort in each other's company within the shelter's walls. Ghost is shy, preferring quiet corners and soft whispers. He's a gentle spirit, seeking a patient companion to draw him out of his shell.  Sarah, on the other hand, is a fiery spirit. She's quick to hiss and lunge, but don't be fooled. Beneath her tough exterior lies a cat in need of affection and love.   They need a loving home that can provide patience and understanding. Adopting Ghost and Sarah will not only offer them a chance at a happy life, but also bring an exciting blend of tranquility and vivacity to yours. Let their journey of trust and love begin with you. Story
Hi… I’m Prince. I’m a 1 year old brown tabby with a quiet heart, and I’m a very shy guy who takes a little time to feel safe. My previous owner could no longer care for me, so I’m looking for a calm, patient home where I can finally relax and be myself. I may hide at first—that’s just how I protect my heart—but once I trust you, I truly love to snuggle. I do best in a quiet home where things move slowly and gently.  If you’re someone who understands that love doesn’t always rush in loudly, I promise I’m worth the wait. I’m Prince, and I’m hoping for a peaceful place to call home. If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org.    Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.   As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 9:47 am

Story
semi-feral & learning life one tiny step at a timeHi, I’m Gracie — a semi-feral girl with a gentle spark. I’m 2 years old and have been at the shelter since April, slowly learning to trust the world. I came in with very little experience around people, so I’m still skeptical of humans, but I’m beginning to come around — tiny steps, quiet moments, and lots of patience go a long way with me.   I do best in a calm, low-activity home with someone who understands that progress won’t happen overnight. Because I’m semi-feral and still unsure about hands, you can gently pet me with a scratcher for now — it helps me feel safe while we build our bond. With continued socializing, I’m showing more and more curiosity and softness each day.   I’m part of the Take A Chance On Me program, which means my adoption fee is lowered to help me find the right match.    If you are interested in adopting, please fill put an application online at  ahimsahaven.org .

Meet Thumbs & Playtupus, a charming Mom and daughter.     Thumbs, a shy 1 year old  but once she gets to know you she will zoom around and play endlessly.    Platypus...Is 4 years old.  She and Thumbs need a quiet and understanding home where can call their own.  Platypus brings a quiet energy to any home however she is not one that enjoys hands-on human interaction too much. However she loves to sit quietly in the same room with her human and just enjoy the quiet moments together.   They  will also need a family who is committed to continuing Thumbs  cardiac screenings for a diagnosed heart defect. But don't let it fool you, Thumbs can keep up with any playmate.    Together, they share a bond that lights up their surroundings.
