Story

Pluto was adopted by my brother, 2 weeks out of the litter. He only provided basic provisions like feeding her, giving her a littler box and affection. This did not include any vet visits, I got her spayed at 3 years old, her only vet visit. This was not the right home for Pluto. She was kept mainly in his room, my mother didn’t want a cat and constantly spooked her or got loud with and shooed her aggressively (never physically hurt her) to try and get her to stay off of furniture and such. My brother then left her behind in my other brothers care, he took better care of her, but was barely home, she was alone often. And he’s moved as well now. She’s not socialized and gets spooked and triggered easily and bites at the ankle or attacks randomly. Never anything severe. She’s a sweet cat, but she needs someone experienced. She’s very cautious, shy, and mistrusting. But she’s very curious and while I believe in the right home, she will thrive. I feel for her and want what’s best for her..

This lovely girl is one of the nicest cats you'll ever meet. She not only loves her people, but is social with visitors as well. She was surrendered by her owner after she let her outside and she got hit by a car, and she could no longer afford her care. While Mandy just turned 9 years old, don't be fooled - she acts half her age. During the day she plays with her toys, and has no trouble jumping on the kitchen counter to play in the sink - yeah, we're working on that. She spends most of the day looking out the window and watching all the critters run around, but from the safety of her cat tree. At night she enjoys sitting with her person on the sofa watching TV or being gently brushed. Watch your hands - she loves to give lots of those sandpaper tongue kisses! She is showing early signs of mild kidney disease, but it's easily managed by feeding her a high quality canned food-only diet. Her bloodwork showed significant improvement from when she was first surrendered, so one of our consulting vets believes that good nutrition will keep her stable for some time to come. In her original home she did live with a large number of cats but she was not a big fan of interacting with them. She does okay with one of the cats in her foster home, so she probably could live with another cat after a slow and careful introduction. However, Mandy is not one to cuddle with another cat, she prefers to save that for her humans, and loved sleeping on the bed next to her original mom.. Mandy is fully vetted and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $225 and she is being fostered in Worcester. Twyla is a silky long-haired tuxedo beauty who looks like she’s always dressed for a gala but would actually prefer a quiet night in. She’s a shy girl at first, but once she feels safe, she turns into a sweet companion who likes to share space with you and possibly another calm, respectful cat (provided there is a proper introduction). She’s a great match for a quiet home that has regular routines and humans who understand that trust is built slowly (with treats and bird videos) and are not expecting a lap cat. Twyla enjoys observing the world from a cozy, safe spot (think: window perches, cat trees, or that one chair no one’s allowed to sit in). And she's a big fan of BirderKing on YouTube! Twyla is not a fan of hands coming straight at her face like a UFO. But if you gently approach her neck from the side and offer a good neck skritch then she will purr INTENSELY like a tiny motorcycle of happiness. (Check out her video!)
