Story
Hi, my name is Mac-N-Cheese. You get one guess how I got my name. My kittenhood was rough! I was rescued from under a bush where I was crying and very frightened. I had yucky fleas and about a week later, I had to have surgery to take care of a bad spot on my leg. I hated that cone! After that, my life improved greatly. I had other kitties to play with, beds and boxes to sleep on, and plenty of food. I still love a box! I am a little shy around strangers and will need a patient, understanding family to love me. If that is you, please consider me. Are you interested in adopting Mac-N-Cheese or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center or Timber Drive next to Home Depot). Story
I may be Bitsy, but I am not Itsy. I have grown up and an over-the-top affectionate and loving kitten. I want as much attention as you can give me, and I will give just as much back. Small toys that can be carried are fun. I sometimes pretend like I am on a hunt when I catch the toy. Let me tell you about the ball in the circle toy. Yes, I like this toy too. Can I tell you how much of a snuggler I am? I will curl right next to you and purr you to sleep. Then I may go to sleep too. Do you have a queen-size bed for two? Story
(Cole has been in foster care with JCAPL since May 2023. He is being sponsored by an anonymous donor to cover a portion of his adoption fee to help him find his forever home). Cole is a beautiful black kitty. He was found at his foster mom's workplace with his sister. He loves his cat tree, and he loves canned food. He likes attention but does not always seek it. He should become more affectionate in a home of his own. Cole gets along with other cats after a patient introduction. He is energetic, sweet, and ready for his forever person. He will definitely blossom in a home of his own. Cole has a sponsor, which means he has a reduced adoption fee. Are you interested in adopting Cole or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. Story
Sylvie is a smaller girl. She was born in October 2023. She was a very skittish kitten, and her foster mom kept her a little longer to work on bringing Sylvie out to shine. She is still a bit shy and can get startled easily. She likes love on her terms. She does not like to be pursued, but she will come for love when she is ready. She jumps up on the bed every morning for pets. She loves other cats and likes her foster mom's dog. She is very playful and loves toy mice. She would probably be best with no young children and a kitty sibling or two to play with. She will take some adjustment time, but she is sure to blossom once she is comfortable in a home of her own. Story
Oy, I’m Roy, and I’m enjoying the luxurious indoor life. Unlike my namesake (Roy Kent from Ted Lasso!), I am outgoing and friendly. You know we orange kittens are crazily cute. I have tons of kitten energy and love to play. I hope you have lots of toys because I’m a bit of a toy hog! A companion to wrestle with would be great, too! Once I’m all tuckered out and ready to wind down, I do the cutest thing – suck on the tip of my tail like a pacifier! I would love a warm lap where I can curl up, purr, and suck on my tail-“paci” after a long play session. Are you interested in adopting this kitten or another JCAPL pet you have seen?
