Story
Jen and Sydney are a pair of young sisters whose hearts are just as closely connected as they are to each other. Raised together in a loving home, these sweet siblings have always had one another for comfort, play and companionship. Recently, their world changed when their owners had to move out of the country and were unable to bring the girls along. Wanting the very best for them, the family reached out to us to ensure Sydney and Jen would have a safe and caring place to land while they wait for their forever home. Because of their deep bond and to help ease this big transition, Sydney and Jen must be adopted together. They have already experienced the disruption of losing their home and their caregivers, so our hope is that it will be the last time they ever have to face that kind of change. Keeping them together means they will always have the comfort, confidence and love they find in each other. The sisters are currently staying in one of our cage-free, free-roam rooms, where they can explore, climb and lounge by their very own private window. Watching them interact is truly special and you’ll see the quiet reassurance they give each other and the playful spark they share. If you’ve been thinking about adding not one, but two loving companions to your life, Sydney and Jen may be the perfect pair. Double the purrs, double the companionship and double the love. Come spend some time with them and see if your hearts align. Their forever home is waiting and they’re hoping it’s with you. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
Meet a gentle longhaired soul in search of a forever hero. Lulu is a tender female who came to us in mid-November after being found as a stray by a kind Good Samaritan. Unfortunately, her rescuer couldn’t keep her due to having other pets and limited space. Lulu’s journey to safety didn’t end there and she was brought to ARF. She’s now looking for a special someone to help her feel truly at home. Lulu’s soft, luxurious coat will need regular brushing to stay tangle-free. This will be a perfect opportunity for bonding and quiet moments together. She is very shy and easily frightened, so she needs an adopter willing to go slow, watch her body language and follow her lead as she learns to trust again. When Lulu first arrived, she hid and slept in her litter box, crouched down, fearful of everything around her. She’s made some progress and now feels a bit safer sleeping just behind it. Our specially trained TLC volunteers have been working with Lulu to show her that people can be gentle and loving. They have also been working on proving to her that there is safety and comfort in human companionship. She will thrive in a quiet home without loud noises or too much activity and with an adopter who is patient, confident and willing to be her steady guide. We don’t know what hardships Lulu faced while fending for herself on the streets. But one thing is clear, she is ready for a forever hero who will offer her love, patience and security. Lulu may be shy now, but with the right person, her heart will open and she will learn that a gentle hand can bring warmth, safety and comfort to a life that has known so little of it. Could you be the hero Lulu has been waiting for? The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Meet Liberty —The Goofy Playful Pal Who’s Always Up For A Good Time! If you’re looking for a cat who’s all about fun, games and some serious bird-watching action, Liberty is the guy for you! He’s a high-energy, goofy little ball of joy who absolutely lives for toys. Feather wands? He’s there. Laser pointers? Good luck keeping up! When he’s not chasing his latest play thing, he’ll be glued to the window, keeping a close eye on the local bird population like the stealthy feline detective he is. Liberty may be a playful whirlwind, but he does need a calm, loving home where he can thrive. He’s on a simple, inexpensive medication to help him from getting over - stimulated due to feline hyperesthesia, and this volunteer favorite is looking for a solo home (no other pets) where he can be the star of the show. He’s got a ton of love to give, he’s ready to shower it all on his perfect human. If you’re looking for a goofy, playful, and loving companion who’s always up for some fun, Liberty might just be your new best friend! Liberty is available for foster to adopt, to schedule an appointment contact Pat at arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com

Story
Meet Kiwi. Kiwi is a little bit more shy than his brother, Avocato, but is a big love bug! His favorite activities are fetching mice, springs, and following his brother around play-fighting! They are adorable together. After playtime, he will walk all over you until he finds his perfect spot and will cuddle the night away! He loved cuddles with his foster's 8 year old daughter the most! He's great with other cats, gentle children, but would prefer a home without dogs. Not good with dogs, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Connie came to us at the end of June as a transfer from an overcrowded shelter that was in urgent need of space. When she arrived, it was clear she needed a little extra TLC. She was battling a common feline respiratory infection and had an upset tummy that took some time (and a lot of care!) to get under control. After some dedicated support and patience, we were able to identify the right diet that keeps Connie feeling her best. Now, she’s thriving and she’s finally ready to find a forever home. Because of her dietary needs, Connie is available for adoption through our Adoption Consultant. This ensures that her adopter will receive all the information they need, including detailed guidance about her food and ongoing care. We want Connie and her future family to be set up for success right from the start. 💬 Think of Connie’s needs like a person with a gluten intolerance or food allergy. It’s just part of who she is and with the right routine, it’s completely manageable. We hope adopters see her for the loving, playful cat she is and not just her special dietary requirement. A few important things to know about Connie: * She’s not a fan of dogs, so she’ll need a canine-free home. * She’s incredibly sweet, social and affectionate. Once she knows you’re her person, she’ll be your loyal companion. * She’s still young and has her whole life ahead of her. All she needs now is a soft place to land. If you're looking for a loving feline friend and are open to making a small but important accommodation, Connie could be the perfect addition to your home. Interested in meeting Connie? Reach out to our Adoption Consultant at arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. We’re here to answer any questions and help you determine if this special girl is the right match for you. Story
Willow is a lovely tabby girl with big, doe-like green eyes that seem to look right into your heart. She came to us just before Christmas Eve after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter, along with her sister, Pearl who has since been adopted. Although Willow had a cat sibling, she seems to be other cat selective at the shelter. As a tabby, Willow comes with all the wonderful traits people often associate with these cats. Tabbies are widely believed to be friendly, gentle and intelligent, with easygoing personalities that make them wonderful companions. Many people also believe tabby cats bring good luck and tend to form strong bonds with their families. Willow’s slightly shy nature means she may appreciate a patient, kind adopter who will give her a little time to settle in. But her sweetness shines through once she feels comfortable. If you’re looking for a gentle, soulful tabby with expressive eyes and a loving heart, Willow may be the perfect addition to your home.
