Story
Say hello to Pop Tart, a handsome cat with a friendly heart and so much love to give. This charming boy joined us in mid-February after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter, hoping for the fresh start he truly deserves. Pop Tart arrived at ARF alongside his brother, Popsicle. These two grew up together and made the journey side-by-side. While they do not have to be adopted together, we always like to let potential adopters know when littermates come in as a pair just in case someone is hoping to keep part of a feline family together in their forever home. Pop Tart is friendly, sweet and ready to be someone’s loyal companion. He enjoys attention, companionship and the comfort of a safe place to call his own. He may be a little overshadowed simply because of his color, but we think that just makes him all the more special. 🖤 Let’s talk about black cats🖤 For centuries, black cats have been symbols of good fortune, prosperity and protection in many cultures around the world. In some traditions, they are believed to bring luck and positive energy into a home. Sailors once considered black cats good luck aboard ships. In parts of the world, they’re still seen as a sign of blessings to come. Yet sadly, black cats (and black dogs, too) are often overlooked in shelters. Through no fault of their own, they’re frequently passed by. It’s a quiet reality in animal rescue and it tugs at our hearts every time. These beautiful animals wait just a little longer, hoping someone will see past fallacy and snapshots and notice the loving soul underneath. Pop Tart is a gentle presence who just needs someone to choose him. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate cat and maybe even considering adopting siblings, Pop Tart would love to meet you. Come meet this wonderful boy and see for yourself why black cats truly are magical. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Meet Liberty —The Goofy Playful Pal Who’s Always Up For A Good Time! If you’re looking for a cat who’s all about fun, games and some serious bird-watching action, Liberty is the guy for you! He’s a high-energy, goofy little ball of joy who absolutely lives for toys. Feather wands? He’s there. Laser pointers? Good luck keeping up! When he’s not chasing his latest play thing, he’ll be glued to the window, keeping a close eye on the local bird population like the stealthy feline detective he is. Liberty may be a playful whirlwind, but he does need a calm, loving home where he can thrive. He’s on a simple, inexpensive medication to help him from getting over - stimulated due to feline hyperesthesia, and this volunteer favorite is looking for a solo home (no other pets) where he can be the star of the show. He’s got a ton of love to give, he’s ready to shower it all on his perfect human. If you’re looking for a goofy, playful, and loving companion who’s always up for some fun, Liberty might just be your new best friend! Liberty is available for foster to adopt, to schedule an appointment contact Pat at arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com

Not good with dogs, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Connie came to us at the end of June as a transfer from an overcrowded shelter that was in urgent need of space. When she arrived, it was clear she needed a little extra TLC. She was battling a common feline respiratory infection and had an upset tummy that took some time (and a lot of care!) to get under control. After some dedicated support and patience, we were able to identify the right diet that keeps Connie feeling her best. Now, she’s thriving and she’s finally ready to find a forever home. Because of her dietary needs, Connie is available for adoption through our Adoption Consultant. This ensures that her adopter will receive all the information they need, including detailed guidance about her food and ongoing care. We want Connie and her future family to be set up for success right from the start. 💬 Think of Connie’s needs like a person with a gluten intolerance or food allergy. It’s just part of who she is and with the right routine, it’s completely manageable. We hope adopters see her for the loving, playful cat she is and not just her special dietary requirement. A few important things to know about Connie: * She’s not a fan of dogs, so she’ll need a canine-free home. * She’s incredibly sweet, social and affectionate. Once she knows you’re her person, she’ll be your loyal companion. * She’s still young and has her whole life ahead of her. All she needs now is a soft place to land. If you're looking for a loving feline friend and are open to making a small but important accommodation, Connie could be the perfect addition to your home. Interested in meeting Connie? Reach out to our Adoption Consultant at arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. We’re here to answer any questions and help you determine if this special girl is the right match for you. Story
Say hello to Apricot, a beautiful longhaired calico with a heart as sweet as her name! With her soft, luxurious fur and stunning amber-colored eyes, Apricot is a true showstopper. She came to us at the end of February, transferred from an overcrowded shelter and we’re so glad she’s at ARF, ready for her forever home. Apricot is friendly and affectionate. We’re not sure how she ended up in a shelter, but we know that she’s ready to give and receive all the love you can offer. Having a long, gorgeous coat, Apricot will need a dedicated adopter who will take the time needed to brush her regularly. Brushing will keep her fur tangle-free and looking its best. And trust us, it’s a fantastic way to bond with this lovely lady! Did you know, calicos are almost always females! Why? Well, it’s all thanks to their unique genetics. The calico pattern is linked to the X chromosome and since females have two X chromosomes, they’re the ones that can show off that iconic mix of orange, black and white! It’s like a little piece of nature’s artwork.🎨 So, if you're ready for a sweet and stunning companion who both loves and deserves attention, she might just be the companion you've been dreaming of! Come meet her today and see if she’s the one who’ll steal your heart.
