Nidra is a great cat who loves lots of cuddles and play! I got her from a family friend in 2019, she is 6 years old. Unfortunately, do to unexpected life circumstances I have to re-home her. She does not like other cats but is okay with dogs. She's been an indoor only cat her whole life but will sit outside with me on occasion. She's a great match for someone who has time and attention to give!

🍫❤️ NUTELLA IS A SWEET SENIOR GENTLEMAN READY FOR A SECOND CHANCE ❤️🍫 Introducing Nutella, a handsome, gentle senior boy with a heart as warm as his name. Estimated to be around 7 years old, Nutella came to us through a local grassroots rescue after a kind Good Samaritan cared for him for several months after he was found living outdoors. When that Good Samaritan sadly passed away, the rescue was contacted to step in on Nutella’s behalf and we’re so grateful they did. Nutella arrived at ARF in mid-September and has been patiently waiting with us ever since, especially as we worked to get him the veterinary care he desperately needed. This sweet guy was suffering from severe dental disease, with widespread rot and decay causing constant pain. After a dental procedure which included the removal of 10 teeth, Nutella is finally feeling comfortable, pain-free and so much happier. His smile may not look like that of a typical cat, but Nutella doesn’t mind and neither do we. What matters most is that he can now eat, groom and enjoy life without hurting. 🌟 Senior Cats Need Love Too Senior animals like Nutella are too often overlooked in favor of kittens or younger cats. But adopting a senior is one of the greatest gifts you can give and receive. Older cats typically come with calmer temperaments, established personalities and an unmatched sense of gratitude. Nutella embodies all of that and more. He’s friendly, affectionate and deeply appreciative of every bit of kindness shown to him. His journey hasn’t always been easy, but he meets every day with softness and hope. 🏡 Nutella Is Ready for His Forever Home Now that he’s healed and feeling like a brand-new cat, Nutella is ready to settle into a loving home away from street life. He's looking for a home where he can finally rest, recover and be cherished the way he always should have been. If you’re looking for a companion who will thank you every day with gentle headbutts, warm purrs and quiet loyalty, Nutella is your boy. We invite you to come to meet him. He's the sweetest senior treat you’ll ever bring home! The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
Tuxi is a male kitten with truly piercing eyes that stop you in your tracks. This handsome tuxedo boy arrived at the shelter at the start of December from a local grassroots rescue, along with his siblings, Toothless and Rolo. After spending time in a loving foster home, Tuxi has shown himself to be a calm, quiet kitten with a soft, affectionate nature. He’s often found curled up in bed with a sibling or two, perfectly content to snuggle and soak up the warmth. While he enjoys peaceful moments, Tuxi also has a wonderfully goofy side. He’s quick to flop over and proudly display his belly, inviting you in for pets and it’s almost never a trap! Tuxi does not need to be adopted with his brother or sister, but we always like to share when kittens arrive with family members in case an adopter is hoping to keep part of a litter together in their forever home. With his gentle personality, silly charm and movie star looks, Tuxi is ready to settle into a home where he can continue perfecting the art of cuddling, lounging and stealing hearts. Story
Meet a gentle longhaired soul in search of a forever hero. Lulu is a tender female who came to us in mid-November after being found as a stray by a kind Good Samaritan. Unfortunately, her rescuer couldn’t keep her due to having other pets and limited space. Lulu’s journey to safety didn’t end there and she was brought to ARF. She’s now looking for a special someone to help her feel truly at home. Lulu’s soft, luxurious coat will need regular brushing to stay tangle-free. This will be a perfect opportunity for bonding and quiet moments together. She is very shy and easily frightened, so she needs an adopter willing to go slow, watch her body language and follow her lead as she learns to trust again. When Lulu first arrived, she hid and slept in her litter box, crouched down, fearful of everything around her. She’s made some progress and now feels a bit safer sleeping just behind it. Our specially trained TLC volunteers have been working with Lulu to show her that people can be gentle and loving. They have also been working on proving to her that there is safety and comfort in human companionship. She will thrive in a quiet home without loud noises or too much activity and with an adopter who is patient, confident and willing to be her steady guide. We don’t know what hardships Lulu faced while fending for herself on the streets. But one thing is clear, she is ready for a forever hero who will offer her love, patience and security. Lulu may be shy now, but with the right person, her heart will open and she will learn that a gentle hand can bring warmth, safety and comfort to a life that has known so little of it. Could you be the hero Lulu has been waiting for? The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Story
Ozzy is a sleek black cat with a tipped ear that tells part of his story. He was once part of a Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program, a survivor of the streets who's now ready for something better: a forever home. Estimated to be around 4 years old, Ozzy is past the wild kitten chaos but still full of personality. In fact, he will let you know when he has something to say— he’s a bit of a talker, meowing for attention. When he wants your company, he’ll brush up against you with all the charm of a cat who knows exactly what he wants. What Ozzy Loves: * Chin scratches and gentle pets * Rubbing up against his favorite humans * Being part of the action (on his own terms!) * Having conversations with you — he’s got a lot of opinions! Ozzy enjoys affection, but doesn’t appreciate being overhandled or having his safe spaces invaded. He’s independent, a little sassy and totally okay setting his boundaries. Because of this, we recommend that Ozzy go to a home without children under the age of 12, where his communication style will be respected and understood. FIV+ –What It Really Means Ozzy has tested FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that scare you away. It cannot be spread to humans or dogs and is most commonly transmitted through deep bite wounds of outdoor cats competing for limited resources. Many FIV+ cats live long, healthy and happy lives with regular vet care, good nutrition and a safe indoor environment. Our adoption consultant will be happy to talk with you in depth about FIV and what it means for Ozzy’s care, so you’ll feel fully informed and supported. Why Adopt Ozzy? He’s charming, chatty, independent, and affectionate in his own unique way. With a bit of patience and a whole lot of love, Ozzy will reward you with companionship, head bumps and a voice that makes sure you’ll never feel alone in the room. And while he shares a name (and a bit of attitude) with the Prince of Darkness (Ozzy Osbourne) himself, this Ozzy is more into cozy naps and chin scratches than rock concerts—though he might still meow like he’s headlining Madison Square Garden. Story
Pearl is a beautiful tabby girl with soft markings and lovely light green eyes. She came to us just before Christmas Eve after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter, along with her sister, Willow. While the two do not need to be adopted together, we always like adopters to know when cats arrive with littermates just in case keeping siblings together in a forever home is something you’d like to consider. We do not know what landed them in a shelter in the first place. Tabby cats like Pearl are often believed to be some of the most wonderful companions. Many people say tabbies are especially friendly, intelligent and affectionate, with outgoing personalities that make them easy to bond with. Some even believe tabbies bring good luck and have a special way of fitting right in with their families. Before coming to us, Pearl and Willow spent time in a loving foster home. Their foster mom shared this with us: “Willow and her sister Pearl are very sweet and social. Willow is a little more shy. Both love Friskies pâté. They came from a home with multiple cats and two dogs.” Pearl’s social nature and experience living with other animals suggest she could be a great addition to a variety of homes. If you’re looking for a sweet tabby with a gentle heart and a loving spirit, Pearl may be the perfect match for you.
