Story
This is Sangria- she's about two years old and is the sweetest! My family recently moved to a new home (And adopted a few more cats) a couple months ago, and we think Sangria is having a hard time adjusting to some of our other cats. Sangria is very loving and vocal; she loves a soft touch and spending time with people. She can be timid at times but really comes out of her shell when she feels safe. We know she needs a loving home with less commotion (We have three kids and five other cats). She is litter box trained, eats Purina dry food, and does not have any health issues.

Story
Penelope, a beautiful calico, has a story as unique as her coloring. Brought to ARF on St. Patrick’s Day after finding her way into a kind person’s garage, she now waits her forever family. Her name, Penelope, comes from the clever and loyal wife of Odysseus in Greek mythology, a character known for her intelligence, patience and gentle strength. Just like her namesake, Penelope the cat has shown smarts, resilience and a careful, thoughtful approach to people and her surroundings. Why Penelope will steal your heart: * She has a spicy, playful side, but quickly realized people are wonderful and she loves gentle pets. * She enjoys bird videos and will happily “watch” the world from her favorite sunny spot. * A true biscuit maker, she kneads with skill while getting head rubs. * Soft brushing with a grooming glove is one of her favorite indulgences. * Sweet, affectionate and cautious, she appreciates patience and gentle love. Penelope is ready to bring cleverness, charm and heart to a forever home. Like her mythological counterpart, she’s loyal and loving to those who earn her trust. Could that be you? Come meet Penelope and discover the wisdom, warmth and whiskered wonder she brings! The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Story
Meet a gentle longhaired soul in search of a forever hero. Lulu is a tender female who came to us in mid-November after being found as a stray by a kind Good Samaritan. Unfortunately, her rescuer couldn’t keep her due to having other pets and limited space. Lulu’s journey to safety didn’t end there and she was brought to ARF. She’s now looking for a special someone to help her feel truly at home. Lulu’s soft, luxurious coat will need regular brushing to stay tangle-free. This will be a perfect opportunity for bonding and quiet moments together. She is very shy and easily frightened, so she needs an adopter willing to go slow, watch her body language and follow her lead as she learns to trust again. When Lulu first arrived, she hid and slept in her litter box, crouched down, fearful of everything around her. She’s made some progress and now feels a bit safer sleeping just behind it. Our specially trained TLC volunteers have been working with Lulu to show her that people can be gentle and loving. They have also been working on proving to her that there is safety and comfort in human companionship. She will thrive in a quiet home without loud noises or too much activity and with an adopter who is patient, confident and willing to be her steady guide. We don’t know what hardships Lulu faced while fending for herself on the streets. But one thing is clear, she is ready for a forever hero who will offer her love, patience and security. Lulu may be shy now, but with the right person, her heart will open and she will learn that a gentle hand can bring warmth, safety and comfort to a life that has known so little of it. Could you be the hero Lulu has been waiting for? Lulu is available for adoption through our Foster to Adopt Program. This means that Lulu can go home with the right person as a foster on a trial basis for a pre-determined length of time to see if she is in fact the perfect fit for the adopter's home. At the end of the trial period, if both parties agree, Lulu's temporary foster placement would transition officially into her adoptive home. Please email her adoption consultant at arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com to set up a meet and greet or to ask for further details. Story
Galaxy is a young, handsome tabby boy with a personality that’s just waiting to shine. He arrived here in mid-March after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter, alongside his siblings Orbit and Milky Way. While Galaxy does not have to be adopted with either of them, we always like to let potential adopters know when littermates come in together just in case you're considering doubling the love and bringing home a ready-made duo! There’s a reason tabby cats like Galaxy are so beloved. Their iconic stripes, swirls, and “M” marking on their foreheads have made them stars in pop culture for generations. From the mischievous charm of Garfield to the adventurous spirit of many storybook cats, tabbies are often portrayed as friendly, clever and full of personality. Galaxy is no exception! Galaxy has a health waiver in his file for patella luxation. In simple terms, this means his kneecap can occasionally slip out of place. It’s often caused by the way the joint is naturally formed and is something many cats live with comfortably. Most of the time, it doesn’t stop them from playing, exploring and enjoying life as normal. Our adoption consultant will walk you through exactly what this means, what to watch for and answer any questions you may have. We want to make sure both you and Galaxy are set up for a happy, successful life together. Galaxy’s Personality: 🌟 Curious and observant 🌟 Sweet and gentle, especially as he settles in Could you be the one to give Galaxy his forever home and maybe even consider bringing along one of his siblings? Come meet Galaxy and see if this tabby star is the missing piece in your universe.
