Story
Nidra is a great cat who loves lots of cuddles and play! I got her from a family friend in 2019, she is 6 years old. Unfortunately, do to unexpected life circumstances I have to re-home her. She does not like other cats but is okay with dogs. She's been an indoor only cat her whole life but will sit outside with me on occasion. She's a great match for someone who has time and attention to give!

Story
Artemis is a gorgeous little, young tuxedo girl with a celestial name and a heart full of wonder. She arrived at our shelter alongside her brother, Arlo, after being transferred from an overcrowded facility. Arlo has already been adopted and now it’s Artemis’s time to shine! Like the moon goddess she's named after—and the ambitious NASA mission reaching for the stars—Artemis is curious, independent and full of potential. She loves to pounce on toys, scale cat trees like a space explorer and curl up in the sun like she’s charging her solar panels. Her playful energy and endless curiosity are everything you'd expect from a young kitten just beginning her journey. 🐱 A Note About Her Health: You may notice that Artemis has a health waiver in her file. She tested FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which we know can sound concerning at first—but here’s what that really means: * FIV is not contagious to people or dogs. * It is typically spread between outdoor cats through deep bite wounds. * Kittens can test positive due to their mothers. As she grows, there’s a chance that antiobodies from her mother may result in FIV negative status in the future. Our adoption consultant will walk you through everything you need to know and answer any questions. The most important thing to know is this: FIV+ cats can live long, healthy, love-filled lives with regular vet care, a safe indoor home and lots of affection just like any other cat. Artemis isn’t just a name—it’s a promise. A promise of adventure, beauty and a love that’s written in the stars. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
Sucar is a striking soul in search of serenity. With his soft gray and white coat and piercing amber eyes, Sucar is more than just a handsome young cat. He’s a spirit all his own. His name means “sweet” in Romani. Sucar was surrendered to us in mid-July. Since arriving, he’s shown incredible resilience while being treated for a common upper respiratory infection and an intestinal parasite. Now fully recovered, he’s ready to find a place he can finally call home. Sucar enjoys gentle affection, but it has been noted that he can become easily over-stimulated. Because of this, he’ll thrive best in a calm, peaceful environment where he can feel safe and understood. A home with a quiet, zen-like energy would be ideal for helping him truly settle in. He will do best in an adult only home or one where there are older kids/teens. He’s looking for a patient, empathetic person who respects the pace of trust and connection. If you're someone who appreciates the quiet beauty of a cat with both charm and sensitivity, Sucar may be the sweet companion you’ve been waiting for. Come meet Sucar and let his golden eyes and tender spirit speak to your heart. Story
Introducing Olive and Olivia, a bonded sister duo who are looking for a calm and loving home together. These two were surrendered at the start of September and have just recently become available for adoption. While our volunteers are still getting to know their individual personalities, one thing is crystal clear: they are deeply bonded and must be adopted as a pair. Olive is a sleek black beauty with a touch of flair. She has white whiskers that add just the right pop of contrast to her elegant look. Olivia is a soft gray stunner with light green eyes that seem to glow with quiet curiosity. As young kittens, Olive and Olivia rely on each other for comfort and confidence. They’ll do best in a patient, understanding home where they’re allowed to settle in at their own pace. With time, space and gentle encouragement, we believe these girls will blossom into affectionate companions. If you’ve got room in your heart for two quiet souls who just need a little time to feel safe, Olive and Olivia may be the perfect match. Come meet this lovely pair and help them write their next chapter together. Story
Meet a gentle longhaired soul in search of a forever hero. Lulu is a tender female who came to us in mid-November after being found as a stray by a kind Good Samaritan. Unfortunately, her rescuer couldn’t keep her due to having other pets and limited space. Lulu’s journey to safety didn’t end there and she was brought to ARF. She’s now looking for a special someone to help her feel truly at home. Lulu’s soft, luxurious coat will need regular brushing to stay tangle-free. This will be a perfect opportunity for bonding and quiet moments together. She is very shy and easily frightened, so she needs an adopter willing to go slow, watch her body language and follow her lead as she learns to trust again. When Lulu first arrived, she hid and slept in her litter box, crouched down, fearful of everything around her. She’s made some progress and now feels a bit safer sleeping just behind it. Our specially trained TLC volunteers have been working with Lulu to show her that people can be gentle and loving. They have also been working on proving to her that there is safety and comfort in human companionship. She will thrive in a quiet home without loud noises or too much activity and with an adopter who is patient, confident and willing to be her steady guide. We don’t know what hardships Lulu faced while fending for herself on the streets. But one thing is clear, she is ready for a forever hero who will offer her love, patience and security. Lulu may be shy now, but with the right person, her heart will open and she will learn that a gentle hand can bring warmth, safety and comfort to a life that has known so little of it. Could you be the hero Lulu has been waiting for? The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Story
Pearl is a beautiful tabby girl with soft markings and lovely light green eyes. She came to us just before Christmas Eve after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter, along with her sister, Willow. While the two do not need to be adopted together, we always like adopters to know when cats arrive with littermates just in case keeping siblings together in a forever home is something you’d like to consider. We do not know what landed them in a shelter in the first place. Tabby cats like Pearl are often believed to be some of the most wonderful companions. Many people say tabbies are especially friendly, intelligent and affectionate, with outgoing personalities that make them easy to bond with. Some even believe tabbies bring good luck and have a special way of fitting right in with their families. Before coming to us, Pearl and Willow spent time in a loving foster home. Their foster mom shared this with us: “Willow and her sister Pearl are very sweet and social. Willow is a little more shy. Both love Friskies pâté. They came from a home with multiple cats and two dogs.” Pearl’s social nature and experience living with other animals suggest she could be a great addition to a variety of homes. If you’re looking for a sweet tabby with a gentle heart and a loving spirit, Pearl may be the perfect match for you.
