Story
Bud is a loving cat of 8 years, his birthday is June 12. He’s mostly black with a little white on his belly. He loves to curl up on your chest and prick you with his claws in the evening to get some pets. But, Bud needs more personalized attention than we can provide him. He lives with 2 dogs and loves one of them, but the other is much more pushy towards him and this causes some behavioral issues in the household. In the spring and summer, he loves going outside, even overnight. He will always be at the back door in the morning ready for some food. He catches mice and places them where he hopes you might see them, but I wouldn’t say he’s a great hunter or good for pest control as we have a large barn and he refuses to go in it. Overall I think he would make a good companion for somebody who is able to give him more attention than I am able, such as a child or cat lover. He’s shy at first but once he gets to know you, he is very cuddly. He is house-trained and up to date on shots

Story
Brady and Grady are what we refer to as “the twins” and are considered a bonded pair. There is very little difference in their physical appearance besides a dark stripe down the bottom half of Grady’s back. Brady is more vocal, mainly when it’s time for treats! They are both very sweet and will cuddle up to sleep on the bed with you. They are both very energetic and play a lot. They enjoy all kinds of cat toys but they play with each other a lot. They would benefit from a home that is energetic with plenty of room and has the time to give these two the attention that they deserve. They are both neutered, microchipped, and have their rabies shots.

Story
Zoey is approximately 3 years old and is a tortie. She has a lit of energy and makes very amusing sounds when she gets the zoomies. Zoey was originally adopted as a young kitten from an animal rescue. As she has gotten older, her behavior has unfortunately become an issue at times with a few of our other cats. She bullies others to the point that it’s becoming unsafe. I would say she is picky about who her cat friends can be and would be fine as the only cat in the household. She would benefit from pet parents who can provide her with a lot of attention and playtime to assist in getting her energy out. I would recommend a home with either no children or children that are at least 12 years old. Zoey has previously lived with a dog and did just fine so I believe a canine in the home would be fine with a slow introduction. She is spayed, microchipped, and very healthy, she just needs to be updated on a few vaccines. Zoey does not photograph very well but she is very beautiful in person!

Story
Say hello to Pop Tart, a handsome cat with a friendly heart and so much love to give. This charming boy joined us in mid-February after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter, hoping for the fresh start he truly deserves. Pop Tart arrived at ARF alongside his brother, Popsicle. These two grew up together and made the journey side-by-side. While they do not have to be adopted together, we always like to let potential adopters know when littermates come in as a pair just in case someone is hoping to keep part of a feline family together in their forever home. Pop Tart is friendly, sweet and ready to be someone’s loyal companion. He enjoys attention, companionship and the comfort of a safe place to call his own. He may be a little overshadowed simply because of his color, but we think that just makes him all the more special. 🖤 Let’s talk about black cats🖤 For centuries, black cats have been symbols of good fortune, prosperity and protection in many cultures around the world. In some traditions, they are believed to bring luck and positive energy into a home. Sailors once considered black cats good luck aboard ships. In parts of the world, they’re still seen as a sign of blessings to come. Yet sadly, black cats (and black dogs, too) are often overlooked in shelters. Through no fault of their own, they’re frequently passed by. It’s a quiet reality in animal rescue and it tugs at our hearts every time. These beautiful animals wait just a little longer, hoping someone will see past fallacy and snapshots and notice the loving soul underneath. Pop Tart is a gentle presence who just needs someone to choose him. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate cat and maybe even considering adopting siblings, Pop Tart would love to meet you. Come meet this wonderful boy and see for yourself why black cats truly are magical. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

With his striking coat and captivating eyes, Blake is not only a handsome fellow, he's a whole vibe. Blake is the kind of cat who knows the love of a family and is well-adjusted to both dogs and cats. He would be a wonderful fit for a home with other feline-friendly pets. Whether he's lounging in a sunbeam, chasing a toy, or simply curling up beside you on the couch, he's the companion you've been waiting for. Blake came to the shelter at the end of January through no fault of his own. His family faced financial hardship and had to move, leaving Blake looking for a fresh start. But don’t worry because he's been well-loved and is more than ready to find his new forever home. After a short wait for his neuter appointment, Blake is now all set to go home with you today! Black cats like Blake have an undeserved reputation, but they are truly special. In fact, many cultures see them as symbols of good luck and prosperity! These black cats aren’t just pets, they’re stars. And Blake, with his sleek black fur and playful personality, could be your very own Hollywood-worthy companion! * Good luck: Many people believe black cats bring good fortune, especially when they cross your path! * Guardians of the home: Black cats have long been considered protectors, guarding families from evil spirits. * Symbols of wisdom: They’re thought to possess a quiet wisdom, making them excellent listeners and companions. Blake is ready to find a home where he can be cherished for the amazing cat that he is. Are you ready to adopt your own personal house panther? The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times.
