Story
Buddy was rescued from the streets of small-town Wadsworth, OH, where he had been fighting to stay alive. The lover boy is now warm, safe and appreciating every minute of it. He likes to hang out in the same room with you without being a pest. He'll coo and meow to keep in touch! Adorable. Five or six years old, he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and FeLV negative. He is FIV+, but that doesn't much matter since his sexy, fighting days are over. He is totally chill around other cats. Maybe you have a female cat who could use a handsome Buddy. Meet him at his Medina foster home. Happy Stripes Adoption ApplicationMarch 5, 2026, 5:10 pm

Story
Are you ready for a sleek, stylish and sweet addition to your home? Say hello to Blake, a charming 2 year old black cat who's ready to steal your heart. With his striking coat and captivating eyes, Blake is not only a handsome fellow, he's a whole vibe. Blake is the kind of cat who knows the love of a family and is well-adjusted to both dogs and cats. He would be a wonderful fit for a home with other feline-friendly pets. Whether he's lounging in a sunbeam, chasing a toy, or simply curling up beside you on the couch, he's the companion you've been waiting for. Blake came to the shelter at the end of January through no fault of his own. His family faced financial hardship and had to move, leaving Blake looking for a fresh start. But don’t worry because he's been well-loved and is more than ready to find his new forever home. After a short wait for his neuter appointment, Blake is now all set to go home with you today! Black cats like Blake have an undeserved reputation, but they are truly special. In fact, many cultures see them as symbols of good luck and prosperity! In American pop culture, black cats are seen as confident, mysterious and magical. Think about the iconic Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch or Binx from Hocus Pocus. These black cats aren’t just pets, they’re stars. And Blake, with his sleek black fur and playful personality, could be your very own Hollywood-worthy companion! * Good luck: Many people believe black cats bring good fortune, especially when they cross your path! * Guardians of the home: Black cats have long been considered protectors, guarding families from evil spirits. * Symbols of wisdom: They’re thought to possess a quiet wisdom, making them excellent listeners and companions. Blake is ready to find a home where he can be cherished for the amazing cat that he is. Are you ready to adopt your own personal house panther? The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
Meet Chewy, your very own house panther! Chewy is a handsome, three year old male with a big heart packed into a small, chonky body. This little house panther came to us mid-January through a local grassroots rescue who asked us to give him a safe place to land while he waits for the forever home he truly deserves. Chewy’s story began in a hoarding situation, where his owner was clearly overwhelmed and unable to provide the care he needed. When he arrived with us, Chewy required treatment for worms. The good news is that he’s all better now. He's fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready for his next chapter. He has a tipped ear, a sign that at some point he was part of a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, but don’t let that fool you because Chewy is no feral tough guy. His rescuer describes him as the “sweetest little cuddlebug,” and we couldn’t agree more. Chewy lives for human attention and would happily soak up pets, cuddles and companionship all day long. Adding to his irresistible charm is his unique appearance. Chewy’s small, chonky stature gives him an almost dwarf-kitty look, making him extra adorable and completely unforgettable. Chewy is looking for a loving home where he can be cherished, doted on and cared for the way he always deserved. If you’re searching for a loyal, cuddly companion with a heart of gold and the soul of a tiny panther, Chewy might be your perfect match. 🖤 The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Story
Say hello to Pop Tart, a handsome cat with a friendly heart and so much love to give. This charming boy joined us in mid-February after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter, hoping for the fresh start he truly deserves. Pop Tart arrived at ARF alongside his brother, Popsicle. These two grew up together and made the journey side-by-side. While they do not have to be adopted together, we always like to let potential adopters know when littermates come in as a pair just in case someone is hoping to keep part of a feline family together in their forever home. Pop Tart is friendly, sweet and ready to be someone’s loyal companion. He enjoys attention, companionship and the comfort of a safe place to call his own. He may be a little overshadowed simply because of his color, but we think that just makes him all the more special. 🖤 Let’s talk about black cats🖤 For centuries, black cats have been symbols of good fortune, prosperity and protection in many cultures around the world. In some traditions, they are believed to bring luck and positive energy into a home. Sailors once considered black cats good luck aboard ships. In parts of the world, they’re still seen as a sign of blessings to come. Yet sadly, black cats (and black dogs, too) are often overlooked in shelters. Through no fault of their own, they’re frequently passed by. It’s a quiet reality in animal rescue and it tugs at our hearts every time. These beautiful animals wait just a little longer, hoping someone will see past fallacy and snapshots and notice the loving soul underneath. Pop Tart is a gentle presence who just needs someone to choose him. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate cat and maybe even considering adopting siblings, Pop Tart would love to meet you. Come meet this wonderful boy and see for yourself why black cats truly are magical.
