Story
Stormie is a nine year old senior male cat. He is my mother’s cat and she is looking for a new home for him. He has had some issues with her new cat as well as adjusting to moving to my mother’s new house, so we think it is best to rehome him. He is not good with other cats, but he should be okay with small dogs and children. He is a very sweet boy and is very much a couch potato, but he can be a little shy at first. We’re looking for a loving home who will be patient with him.

Story
Artemis is a gorgeous little tuxedo kitten with a celestial name and a heart full of wonder. She arrived at our shelter alongside her brother, Arlo, after being transferred from an overcrowded facility. Arlo has already been adopted and now it’s Artemis’s time to shine! Like the moon goddess she's named after—and the ambitious NASA mission reaching for the stars—Artemis is curious, independent and full of potential. She loves to pounce on toys, scale cat trees like a space explorer and curl up in the sun like she’s charging her solar panels. Her playful energy and endless curiosity are everything you'd expect from a young kitten just beginning her journey. 🐱 A Note About Her Health: You may notice that Artemis has a health waiver in her file. She tested FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which we know can sound concerning at first—but here’s what that really means: * FIV is not contagious to people or dogs. * It is typically spread between outdoor cats through deep bite wounds. * Kittens can test positive due to their mothers. As she grows, there’s a chance that antiobodies from her mother may result in FIV negative status in the future. Our adoption consultant will walk you through everything you need to know and answer any questions. The most important thing to know is this: FIV+ cats can live long, healthy, love-filled lives with regular vet care, a safe indoor home and lots of affection just like any other cat. Artemis isn’t just a name—it’s a promise. A promise of adventure, beauty and a love that’s written in the stars. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
Ozzy is a sleek black cat with a tipped ear that tells part of his story. He was once part of a Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program, a survivor of the streets who's now ready for something better: a forever home. Estimated to be around 4 years old, Ozzy is past the wild kitten chaos but still full of personality. In fact, he will let you know when he has something to say— he’s a bit of a talker, meowing for attention. When he wants your company, he’ll brush up against you with all the charm of a cat who knows exactly what he wants. What Ozzy Loves: * Chin scratches and gentle pets * Rubbing up against his favorite humans * Being part of the action (on his own terms!) * Having conversations with you — he’s got a lot of opinions! Ozzy enjoys affection, but doesn’t appreciate being overhandled or having his safe spaces invaded. He’s independent, a little sassy and totally okay setting his boundaries. Because of this, we recommend that Ozzy go to a home without children under the age of 12, where his communication style will be respected and understood. FIV+ –What It Really Means Ozzy has tested FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that scare you away. It cannot be spread to humans or dogs and is most commonly transmitted through deep bite wounds of outdoor cats competing for limited resources. Many FIV+ cats live long, healthy and happy lives with regular vet care, good nutrition and a safe indoor environment. Our adoption consultant will be happy to talk with you in depth about FIV and what it means for Ozzy’s care, so you’ll feel fully informed and supported. Why Adopt Ozzy? He’s charming, chatty, independent, and affectionate in his own unique way. With a bit of patience and a whole lot of love, Ozzy will reward you with companionship, head bumps and a voice that makes sure you’ll never feel alone in the room. And while he shares a name (and a bit of attitude) with the Prince of Darkness (Ozzy Osbourne) himself, this Ozzy is more into cozy naps and chin scratches than rock concerts—though he might still meow like he’s headlining Madison Square Garden. Story
Sucar is a striking soul in search of serenity. With his soft gray and white coat and piercing amber eyes, Sucar is more than just a handsome young cat. He’s a spirit all his own. His name means “sweet” in Romani. Sucar was surrendered to us in mid-July. Since arriving, he’s shown incredible resilience while being treated for a common upper respiratory infection and an intestinal parasite. Now fully recovered, he’s ready to find a place he can finally call home. Sucar enjoys gentle affection, but it has been noted that he can become easily over-stimulated. Because of this, he’ll thrive best in a calm, peaceful environment where he can feel safe and understood. A home with a quiet, zen-like energy would be ideal for helping him truly settle in. He will do best in an adult only home or one where there are older kids/teens He’s looking for a patient, empathetic person who respects the pace of trust and connection. If you're someone who appreciates the quiet beauty of a cat with both charm and sensitivity, Sucar may be the sweet companion you’ve been waiting for. Come meet Sucar and let his golden eyes and tender spirit speak to your heart.
