Story
Autumn is a beautiful medium- to long-haired calico cat with a calm, warm and friendly manner. She loves petting, to be picked up, and will come to you when she hears your footsteps. Autumn is also a doting mother cat, who has been diligently raising her second batch of kittens. There is one difference from most, in that she is totally blind, but that does not hinder her in almost any way. She is much more attuned to sounds, to airflow and to footsteps, and does just as good a job rounding up her kittens and caring for them as any mother cat. She was noticed a year ago as a kitten with eye infections that left her sightless, and raised the first kittens outdoors in her Stafford neighborhood, apparently around other cats and dogs. This time we were called to pick her up when found pregnant again, and she delivered about a week later. She climbs cat trees. She plays with tinkling balls, and loves both wet and dry food, without discriminating tastes. When you meet her, you would not realize she is blind. She does not bump into things, stumble, or otherwise seem impeded. She will make a great household cat or additional cat, as demonstrated during the time we have fostered her. Story
Hi everyone my name is Coraline and if you’re on the lookout for a cutie pie kitten with lots of pizzazz look no further - I’m here! I was born in May 2025 and was pretty sick when impounded at a crowded shelter. That put me at risk but thankfully my foster mom quickly scooped me up, fixed me up and showered me with affection and good groceries. I’m a social little gal so will tell you all about my day while seeking attention and I get along great with other cats, nice dogs and fun children. As a high-energy kitten I need to have an active kitty buddy to romp with to help keep me out of mischief :) My motto could be “let me entertain you” and if that sounds purrfect for your family I’d love to audition!  The cat adoption fee is $120 (or $190 for two cats). Second Chance Pets is a foster-based organization so all animals live in foster homes throughout the area. All cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV and feline leukemia, fully vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed and microchipped. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Clear Lake Petco (2410 Bay Area Blvd, Houston 77058). If interested in one of our cats please feel free to complete an application, found on our website www.secondchancepets.org, and email it to us at pets2adopt@yahoo.com for pre-review. Story
Hello everyone, my name is Dolly and I am a sweet petite adult with a lovely dilute tortoiseshell coat. I was rescued in March 2025 with my days-old kittens (the “bugs” litter) and took great care of my 5 babies - it was such a relief to be off the streets and safe in foster care! I’m an anything-goes kind of kitty - social and friendly with people and other cats, very sweet, love to snuggle and my foster mom says I have a great purrsonality :) Sadly life on the streets was rough and after being rescued I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called stomatitis which required extraction of all my teeth in early June :( Happily my mouth has healed well, feels sooo much better now and though toothless I can eat just fine. If my story has touched your heart I’m available to come for a Saturday audition so please inquire about meeting me :) Love, Dolly The cat adoption fee is $120 (or $190 for two cats). Story
Ladybug and her littermates were born to a stray mama cat in March 2025 and rescued when the babies were just a few days old. Life indoors with a caring foster family has been great but since all of her siblings have been adopted she is more than ready to find her own forever home (as is her mama Dolly). Ladybug sports a colorful tortoiseshell coat and an outgoing purrsonality with a splash of “tortitude” :) She loves to play and would likely do best in a home with another active young kitty to romp with since she’s a very energetic little gal. The cat adoption fee is $120 (or $190 for two cats). Second Chance Pets is a foster-based organization so all animals live in foster homes throughout the area.
