Story
Autumn is a beautiful medium- to long-haired calico cat with a calm, warm and friendly manner. She loves petting, to be picked up, and will come to you when she hears your footsteps. Autumn is also a doting mother cat, who has been diligently raising her second batch of kittens. There is one difference from most, in that she is totally blind, but that does not hinder her in almost any way. She is much more attuned to sounds, to airflow and to footsteps, and does just as good a job rounding up her kittens and caring for them as any mother cat. She was noticed a year ago as a kitten with eye infections that left her sightless, and raised the first kittens outdoors in her Stafford neighborhood, apparently around other cats and dogs. This time we were called to pick her up when found pregnant again, and she delivered about a week later. She climbs cat trees. She plays with tinkling balls, and loves both wet and dry food, without discriminating tastes. When you meet her, you would not realize she is blind. She does not bump into things, stumble, or otherwise seem impeded. She will make a great household cat or additional cat, as demonstrated during the time we have fostered her. Story
Hi everyone my name is Coraline and if you’re on the lookout for a cutie pie kitten with lots of pizzazz look no further - I’m here! I was born in May 2025 and was pretty sick when impounded at a crowded shelter. That put me at risk but thankfully my foster mom quickly scooped me up, fixed me up and showered me with affection and good groceries. I’m a social little gal so will tell you all about my day while seeking attention and I get along great with other cats, nice dogs and fun children. As a high-energy kitten I need to have an active kitty buddy to romp with to help keep me out of mischief :) My motto could be “let me entertain you” and if that sounds purrfect for your family I’d love to audition!  The cat adoption fee is $120 (or $190 for two cats). Second Chance Pets is a foster-based organization so all animals live in foster homes throughout the area. All cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV and feline leukemia, fully vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed and microchipped. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Clear Lake Petco (2410 Bay Area Blvd, Houston 77058). If interested in one of our cats please feel free to complete an application, found on our website www.secondchancepets.org, and email it to us at pets2adopt@yahoo.com for pre-review. Story
Hello everyone, my name is Dolly and I am a sweet petite adult with a lovely dilute tortoiseshell coat. I was rescued in March 2025 with my days-old kittens (the “bugs” litter) and took great care of my 5 babies - it was such a relief to be off the streets and safe in foster care! I’m an anything-goes kind of kitty - social and friendly with people and other cats, very sweet, love to snuggle and my foster mom says I have a great purrsonality :) Sadly life on the streets was rough and after being rescued I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called stomatitis which required extraction of all my teeth in early June :( Happily my mouth has healed well, feels sooo much better now and though toothless I can eat just fine. If my story has touched your heart I’m available to come for a Saturday audition so please inquire about meeting me :) Love, Dolly The cat adoption fee is $120 (or $190 for two cats). Story
Tigger is a handsome tabby male, almost 4 years old. He is very social and friendly. Tigger is a curious cat. One of his favorite tricks is to open cabinets. He never goes inside or disturbs the materials, but he just likes looking. He loves to snuggle full body against you. He will jump up on your lap, place his face firmly in front of yours, lay on your stomach and demand love. There is no ignoring him when he is ready to be affectionate. Tigger shows his affection by snuggling and simply hanging out in the same room with you. He also loves to play games. His favorites are laser pointer, string, and mouse (with some catnip, of course). He enjoys climbing in his cat tree or perching on the window sill and watching birds, butterflies, and salamanders. Tigger’s favorite treat is “Broths” by Purina. When the packet comes out, he is so excited, meowing and watching as it is poured in his bowl. And then gulping it down as fast as he can. Tigger has always lived with his sister, Duchess. They have been together since birth and have a very close bond. When they can’t find each other, you will hear them meowing and calling to one another. You often see them together, laying on the bed, perched in the window sill, or just hanging out on their cat tree. While they do some things separately, they seem to really enjoy each other’s company. This is good on those days where you are stuck at work, to know that your cat has a sweet companion. In most cases, Tigger is the initiator of activities and relationships. Since he is more outgoing than his sister, Duchess, he forges new territory, and then she follows soon after. The reason why they are being rehomed? A new member of the family has very bad allergies. The family loves them enough to keep them in their current home until a new home can be found. This brother and sister pair are TOO SWEET! Tigger will hover over sister Duchess at adoption events, keeping her safe:) Both are very sweet and loving. This is a great bonded pair looking for a new, forever home. The cat adoption fee is $120 (or $190 for two cats). Story
Ladybug and her littermates were born to a stray mama cat in March 2025 and rescued when the babies were just a few days old. Life indoors with a caring foster family has been great but since all of her siblings have been adopted she is more than ready to find her own forever home (as is her mama Dolly). Ladybug sports a colorful tortoiseshell coat and an outgoing purrsonality with a splash of “tortitude” :) She loves to play and would likely do best in a home with another active young kitty to romp with since she’s a very energetic little gal. The cat adoption fee is $120 (or $190 for two cats). Second Chance Pets is a foster-based organization so all animals live in foster homes throughout the area.
