Story
Meet Mossy, one of the Pinery Paws kittens! Born in a meadow along the 59, we were rescued just before the big freeze. We’re now warm, safe, and very cuddly—expert snugglers with soft purrs and cozy vibes. A poser and great companion, I’m known for my good looks and snuggles. Don’t let the cuddles fool you—I am also full of kitten fun! My siblings and I zip through tunnels, dart between your legs (arms and laps too), and proudly invent games like bathtub tag (yes, it’s a thing. You should try it or just watch us with amusement). Adopt me—or better yet, one of my siblings too—for double the love, laughter, kitten cuddles, and chaos. I promise: you won’t be disappointed. Reach out today! Or see me at Petsmart 2902 S Shepherd Dr Sat and Sun 1130-4p.

Story
LOVES TO CUDDLE, PLAY, AND ENTERTAIN  DOB 5/18/22 Hey there, everyone! I’m Mikey, a sweet, friendly, curious, playful, and entertaining “bicolor,” which means that I'm mostly white with grey tabby on my head, back, and tail. I got my name from a 1972 Quaker Oaks “Mikey Likes It” commercial of a toddler who would “eat anything.” That’s me, and I’m not ashamed at all! There are cats starving in China, so no food should be tossed out! You see, my family moved out of their apartment and left me behind to fend for myself outside. I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, so I made the best of my situation. I enjoyed climbing trees, chasing squirrels, and following folks when they walked their dogs. I assumed that an open apartment door was an invitation for me to mosey on in, and everyone adored me. Only problem was, nobody wanted to adopt a stray cat, which is what I really wanted. So “I ate anything” until my future foster meowmy decided that she wanted to foster me until she could find me my forever home with a family who’d never abandon me again. Here I am in my foster home, happy as a lark with the other kitties. I love to cuddle beside Foster Meowmy as we binge on Netflix and Animal Planet, and when she heads for bed, I curl up at her feet. And boy howdy! I love to entertain my hoomans when we interactively play with feather wand-toys and laser pointers as well as when I play soccer with my crinkle balls and catnip mice. I’d be a great kids’ playmate as long as they knew that I don’t like to be picked up. Arrange to meet me today! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a kitty like me who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break any of your treasured accessories. HOPE ID 23-1118-S004 Mikey's $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. Story
QUEEN OF CALM, SOOTHING COMPANIONSHIP  DOB 10/1/23 Hey there, everyone! I’m Winter, a sweet, very calm, gentle, loving Turkish Van mix gal, which means that I’m white except for a black cap on my head and black tail. I’m really quite a stunning beauty who will mesmerize you with my shiny gold-coin eyes and plush, snowy-white coat. I adore sharing quiet moments with Foster Meowmy – especially when she gently rubs my belly. Boy howdy! Does that ever feel good! When she's not available, I’m quite content to pass the day basking in a patch of sunshine on the windowsill. It’s the perfect spot to watch “kitty TV” as squirrels scamper up the trees, birds fly by, and brazen lizards stare at me through the glass.   I deserve to live a life of leisure because by the time I was 19 months old, I had already delivered two litters of kittens at an apartment complex in southwest Houston. In fact, my seven-month-old daughter Summer, who was born when I was a year old, and I gave birth to a total of nine kittens on the very same day in May! We merged our two litters so none of the kits know which of us is their momma or grandma. Summer and I raised our kittens together as true partners to insure that our kittens got the nonstop love and nurturing they needed to thrive.  When the kits were six weeks old, a kind HOPE volunteer rescued all eleven of us from the apartments and brought us into foster care.  Now that I'm permanently retired from motherhood, I’m ready to teach my forever hooman family how to relax and chill out after a hard day at the office. Oh the fun we might have side-by-side on the sofa as we binge on Netflix and Animal Planet. You just have to promise to give me an occasional belly rub to make my ecstasy complete.  Although we're available separately, my daughter Summer and I think it would be the cat's meow if we could be adopted together. We could be cuddle buddies and playmates while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me (and Summer!) today! HOPE ID 25-0609-S040 Winter’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. CHATTY, BISCUIT-MAKING PURR MONSTER  DOB 5/15/25 Here there, everyone! I’m Avery, a sweet, gentle, affectionate, and cuddly Turkish Van mix fella who purrs, makes biscuits, and chats with my foster pawrents about how our day is going. I’m mostly snow white with black on my head and tail as well as a black patch on my rump above my tail. Plus I have a cute goatee and a decorative black circle on my right forearm as well as one on my left paw pad, which the Turks would say are the thumbprints of Allah. My brothers, Thumper and Max, and I are known as the #dicey-dice-dudes because we look like white dice with black spots, and we were born to a stray momma cat in Foster Meowmy’s neighborhood. After we were weaned, Foster Meowmy had Momma spayed and scooped up us kittens so we’d have a chance at a better life indoors. When I first met my foster pawrents, I was a shy, quiet companion who enjoyed observing activity around me from a safe, cozy spot. Thank heavens they didn’t rush me; their time and patience was rewarded; and my delightful personality now shines through. I have to admit that Temptation and Churus treats greatly expedited my learning to trust them. Plus interactive play as they teased me with the feathered wand toy increased our mutual bonding. Now I’m ready to be the handsome, affectionate cuddle buddy and chatty, biscuit-making purr monster of my forever family. Although I’m still shy around new people, I promise that I’m worth the wait if you’ll practice the 3-3-3 rule of cat adoption: give me 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routines, and in 3 months, I’ll have opened up to be a bona fide member of your family. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU! HOPE ID 25-0719-C100 Avery’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. Story
RUB-A-DUB-DUB MY TUMMY, AND I MELT LIKE PUTTY IN YOUR HANDS  DOB 6/15/25 Hey there, everyone! I’m Brutus, a sweet, innocently handsome, and playful grey tabby boy with white tuxedo markings. When my sister Claire and I were six weeks old, Foster Meowmy rescued us as strays from the neighborhood clubhouse. Claire and I were initially shy and reluctant to “make the first move” when we first arrived in the safe haven of our foster home. Admittedly it took me a while to warm up, but I soon learned how much fun and relaxing it is to lie on my back upon Foster Meowmy’s thighs while she strokes my tummy and massages my head. In fact, I often fall asleep in this position. I overheard Foster Meowmy tell someone, “Brutus is great once I’m holding him -- he turns to putty in my hands.” But I’m no couch potato! No siree! I love to play with my toys -- especially the laser pointer, the ribbon on a stick toy, and anything that rolls. After Claire was adopted, I became best buddies with my foster mate Missy Elliott, who looks like my twin sister. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other before we collapse in a kitten puddle when we’re exhausted.  Now I’m ready to “turn into putty” in the hands of my forever family. Could that be you? Although I again may take a while to warm up, I promise to be a cuddle bug to everyone in no time! Although we're available separately, I really hope you'll consider adopting Missy Elliott and me together. We could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I'm ready for you to rub-a-dub-dub my tummy!    HOPE ID 25-0821-G189 Brutus’ $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites.
