Story
My name is Gracie and I have called this shelter "home" for too long! I am ready to begin a new life with you! I prefer to be an only child and not share any attention. I don't really play a lot but I LOVE to sit in your lap and be brushed! Like A LOT! I am very petite and dainty with a signature heart on my nose. I am ready to love and be loved! I will need a very dedicated human to care for me because I carry the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). But don't worry, I can't pass it to humans and if I am well cared for, I can live a long happy life just like cats without FIV! Could you be the forever home I have been waiting for?Note: Gracie is FIV+ . FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is not a deadly virus. FIV+ cats with homes can and DO live long, healthy normal lives when given the chance. They can live & interact with cats that are not FIV + as it is not easily spread to other cats; it cannot be spread to dogs or humans. Statistically, most FIV + cats can live as long as their indoor counterparts (13-18 years). There are many reported cases where FIV+ cats live well into old age without ever showing any symptoms. Kittens born to FIV + mothers are at low risk for infection, although they may initially test positive due to the presence of maternal antibodies. For more information on FIV please refer to the following link: https://vbspca.com/what-you-should-know-when-adopting-an-fiv-positive-cat?sfns=moLocation: Temporary foster home. Meet little Pluto! He is a very polite young man who prefers to sit and watch from afar. Once he feels comfortable, he likes to bat around little mice or balls and chase cat wands. He is also very inquisitive and will help you with the dishes by playing in the running water! He is also partial to head and ear scratches, purring loudly when you’ve found the right spot. Pluto would do best in a quiet home where he gets all the attention!Location: The Cat Corner (no-kill shelter)85 Fulton StreetHampton, Va. Open: Tuesday-Saturday: 10am-2pm. Meet Kingsley! This distinguished little man is one of the last of his litter waiting to find a home of his own! He may be a little shy at first, but becomes very talkative and friendly once he warms up to you. He loves to get belly rubs and butt scratches, he will even flop over to demand them, and who could resist that face?! Kinglsey also has a beautiful, unique coloring to his very soft coat! Could he be the purrfect fit for your family?Location: Temporary foster home. Toulouse is my name, and playing is my game! I love wrestling with my brother, Berlioz, or chasing toys with my sister, Marie. If I am not playing with my siblings, then I am looking for love and cuddles from my human. Once you touch me, my purr motor turns on and never stops! I love attention. I have lots of energy, and love my siblings so much that I need to be adopted with either my brother, Berlioz, or my sister, Marie. I am a very good boy, who loves meal time. I am a growing boy, after all! If you want fun and love in your life, then you should take me home, along with one of my siblings of course!Location: The MeowManor - cat boarding98 Nelson DriveNewport News, Va.Days & Times by Appt. For an appointment, please 1) fill out an online adoption application first and 2) email:adopt@thecatcornerinc.com to request an after hours appointment.More Adoption details: An important part of the process is to match the life-style and needs of theadopter with the individual animal being adopted. Once you have fallen in love with your purrfectmatch, you will need to complete an adoption application. Story
Hello, I'm Berlioz! I am a super sweet boy that loves to cuddle and play. I enjoy wrestling with my brother, Toulouse, playing with a wand toy, or just chasing after jingle ball toys. If I am not playing, I like to cuddle with my humans. At night, I snuggle right up next to them in bed and enjoy my snooze. I would love to have another cat friend to play with in my forever home. If you are looking for a loving, soft, sweet kitten, then I'm your guy!Location: The MeowManor - cat boarding98 Nelson DriveNewport News, Va.Days & Times by Appt. Story
Tiramisu is a sweet as her name! She was found as a very pregnant stray kitty and was a wonderful mom to her kittens. Tira enjoys climbing cats trees, solving great puzzles, and spending time with her foster dad when he works from home. She is not a high energy cat, but prefers lounging near her favorite humans and enjoys a few pets through the day. She is very loving to her humans, but Tira absolutely must be an only cat. She is terrified of other cats and becomes extremely distressed when another cat is within her eyesight. If you are looking for a sweet cat to be an only cat, Tira is the one for you!Location: Temporary foster home.
