Meet Crimson!
A Petite, Beautiful Soul Learning to Trust — and Worth Every Moment of It
~ * ~
Allow me to introduce myself — my name is Crimson, and I am one of those cats who will make you work just a little for my affection… and then make you feel like the luckiest person alive when you earn it. I’m a petite, laid-back, and strikingly beautiful girl with a quiet elegance about me, and I am ready to find the patient, loving home I deserve.
Silvery, Soft & Simply Stunning
Crimson is a gorgeous grey and white cat whose coloring has an almost ethereal, silvery quality to it. Her soft grey coat — the kind that shifts from smoky charcoal to pale silver depending on the light — blends beautifully with clean white markings that frame her delicate features perfectly. She is a small girl with a big presence, the type of cat whose refined, understated beauty makes you do a double-take. Elegant is truly the only word for it.
Her Story
She came from one of the current colonies Billy the Kidden Rescue is working to assist with the feral population. She was originally slated for TNR — until her foster moms discovered something wonderful: she’s friendly. However she ended up outdoors, one thing is certain: that is not where she belongs. Crimson is an inside cat through and through, and she is more than ready to trade the outdoors for a cozy couch and a warm lap.
How to Win My Heart: A Quick Guide
Because Crimson was rescued as an older cat and spent time outdoors, she is still on her trust journey with humans — and that’s okay. She has already come such a long way, and the right person will help her go even further. Here’s how to start things off on the right paw:
• Approach her slowly and calmly. No sudden movements or loud noises — let her see you coming and give her time to assess the situation.
• Let her sniff your hand first. Extend a relaxed hand and let Crimson come to you. When she gives you that little sniff of approval, you’ll know you’ve passed the test.
• Don’t take the hiss personally! If she greets you with a hiss at first, she’s not being mean — she’s just being cautious. Give her a moment, stay calm, and let her warm up at her own pace. She will.
Loving Her Well: Understanding Overstimulation
Crimson adores attention and pets — but always on her own terms, which is actually one of the things that makes her so special. Because she loves affection so much, she can sometimes become overstimulated when the excitement gets to be a little too much. If this happens, the best thing you can do is simply give her some space and time to decompress. She’ll be back for more pets before you know it — purring away like nothing happened. Learning to read her cues is part of the joy of knowing her, and she will reward your patience with the most endearing little purr you’ve ever heard.
Her Ideal Home
Crimson is comfortable with other cats and would be happy as a solo kitty or with a feline companion. She would do best with older children who understand and respect boundaries — kids who know that when a cat needs space, you give it. Her history with dogs is unknown, so a slower, careful introduction would be recommended. Above all, she needs a calm, patient home where she can continue to grow in confidence and trust.
