Story
Mittens and Apollo are brothers who have been together their whole lives and need to be adopted together. They were born as barn kittens, but were adopted at a very young age and have been fully indoor since so they don't have any outdoor survival skills. They are about 9 years old. Mittens loves to be scratched above the tail. He tries, but can't purr. Apollo is a long hair cat who loves pets and attention and you can hear his purr across the room. They both love watching birds. Mittens loves sleeping in front of the fire. They need a new home due to them causing issues with their human's allergies and asthma.

Story
Kitty Cat Lucy was adopted 3 years ago. From my understanding, her previous owner was placed in a living facility and people just visited and threw food to her. She wasn’t very well socialized. I adopted her and while she had some skidding moments, it was too bad until recently. She has attached me twice, once on my arm and once on my face. I was sleeping Sunday when she attacked my face so not sure what happened. But I can no longer keep her. She loves laser lights and bird toys. She can be playful and loving one minute and mean the next. But I think if she had a stable house (we’ve moved twice) and an owner who can guarantee no other animals, she’d be okay.

Story
Meet Kimiko!Kimiko is a 5-year-old female calico (Domestic Medium Hair) who was found as a stray in the city of Yakima. She’s still feeling a bit unsure with all the activity at the adoption center, but she has been gentle and easy to handle with YHS staff.Kimiko isn’t currently seeking out attention and prefers having a quiet place to observe from a safe distance. In a home environment, she will likely hide for a little while as she acclimates and would truly benefit from having a designated safe space where she can settle in at her own pace.Because she’s a sensitive soul, Kimiko would do best in a calm home without small, active children. With patience, understanding, and time, this sweet girl has the potential to blossom into a loving companion for someone who will let her move at her own comfort level. This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Kinze is an 8-month-old female Domestic Medium Hair with a beautiful solid gray coat. She’s a quiet, low-key girl who hasn’t been well socialized, but she has been easy to care for and very undemanding.Kinze prefers to hang out in her box where she feels safe and comfortable, and she takes some extra time to adapt to new environments. In a new home, she’ll likely want to hide at first while she settles in and learns her surroundings. She’s not expected to be overly affectionate and will be happiest with a patient adopter who understands and respects her independent nature.Kinze would do best in a calm, predictable home where she can move at her own pace and simply be herself—sharing space quietly rather than demanding attention. This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
