Izzy was my mom’s patient’s dog who passed away about a year ago. The family didn’t want to keep her because she’s a painful memory of their mom. She is a great dog, doesn’t bark, well trained, and loves to cuddle. I am a single woman that works a lot and I believe that Izzy needs to be rehomed with someone/a family with a less busy schedule.

Hi! My name is Bruce– If you answer yes to these questions, you and I  may be made for each other!  Do you love dogs that love their human (s)? Do you like to cuddle? Do you enjoy snack time? Do you do a happy dance when it’s mealtime? Do you enjoy going outside and getting some fresh air?   Well, those are some of my favorite things! Since I’ve been with my foster family, I’ve been pretty good at being a happy, small, cuddly dog. I currently live with 4 doggy brothers, and I like them all and get along with them just fine. I’m smaller than they are, but I don't mind. I’m very good at being inside the home with humans. I enjoy sitting on their lap if they’re working on their computers or if they’re on the couch, I love to sit next to them and rest my head or entire body on them. Doing that makes me feel safe and loved. I’m also smart and good at these things: -I know “sit” and will do it so I can get my treats and meals -I walk well on leash and enjoy short walks around my neighborhood -I’m also pretty good at going potty outside  - I’m good at sleeping inside my crate at night and whenever my humans have to leave the house   I love the humans I live with so much that meeting new ones is challenging, so I may have to meet you a couple times so you know that I’m good little guy, just need time to know that new humans are also good!   The adoption fee for Bruce is $300 this helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.   Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. I weigh only 15 lbs and as you can see by my pictures, I am a Chihuahua. I'm mostly white but I have a little bit of tan on my ears. I have quite the rescue story so pull up a chair! My Owner gave me the name Frosty so it's the only name I have known in my 7 years. I hope with my next family I get to keep it because that's the only thing that came from my past - oh, and a toy. My Mom got really sick and I stayed with her until the final end. I got to be with her when she was put into something called Hospice. Her family said I was a good companion for my mom. There was one day she went to sleep and never woke up. I tried nudging her and even brought my favorite stuffed bear but she went to Heaven. The family moved me around from one place to other, but everyone had mean dogs that weren't very friendly plus I was sad and scared. Well, so was everyone too but I needed time to take it all in and time or patience wasn't happening so the last person said Frosty maybe if you went to Rescue they can help you. Treasured Animal Rescue said send him to us. They put me on a van with lots of dogs and boy, to say I was scared was an understatement, but my foster Mom met me and I knew she was going to be my Angel. She let me take in my new surroundings and let me relax. I was scared the first night but being around the other dogs I started to get really comfortable. My foster Mom knows when there are things I don't want to do. Like, go into my crate for meals. She lures me in there with hot dogs. Shoot you can me do anything for a hot dog! But I really don't need a crate. I rather sleep in a chair or back of a couch. I like it when we hang out on the couch and I sit on her lap. If I think back to the 1st day of coming to rescue and I was so scared (shaking) and then sitting on her lap it can be done if you give me time. Some other little dogs and I hang out in our foster Grandma's room. We share the doggie beds during the day and we watch TV. At nighttime we have our spot on the bed and we all have doggie dreams. You might ask after reading all the above "why is he listed as Special Needs". Ok about that. When my mom went Heaven, her family knew I had seizures and I was taking medicine. So, when I came to TAR my medicine came with me along with my vet records but it's very vague, so TAR said let's go back our vets and really, start over. I had to take a test and I'll be honest; I don't like going to the vet. I like the attention they give me but those needles .... the Chihuahua in me comes out. But my foster Mom knows how to hold me and talks to me softly and in no time those needles (blood test) are all done. My blood tests showed my liver is good and I have to take some medication so I don't have seizures. Since I'm small I am on a small dose. If you have any questions or concerns, you can ask my foster Mom and she'll give you more details. I dream about my 1st Mom, and I hope she is doing ok. I hope she is no longer sick or in pain. I wish I could tell her I am not scared anymore as I have Angels down here on Earth that are helping me find a new home. Maybe she can see from Heaven and will send my new Mom or Dad for me. I don't know how I will be with kids as I haven't been around them. I think being I'm a Chi-chi I rather have a "mature" person and of course that comfy lap. My name is Angie and I'm what you call the "All-American Mutt". Look it up. The All-American Mutt is a hodge podge of various breeds and it makes me the unique girl I am but if you have to be technical, we can say I'm a Chihuahua-Fox Terrier mix. I weigh only 13#. I was found as a stray roaming around with some boy dogs. The Doggie Catchers were able to catch me but not the dogs. Thankfully, they caught me and took me into the shelter. You think the shelter is not the greatest place but trust me - being on my own is not fun. When I was at the shelter one of the workers showed my silly picture to Treasured Animal Rescue and next thing, I know I'm on a van heading to my foster home. Here at my foster home, I have other dogs to play with. I love running around the backyard and boy oh boy do I love to run. I run like the wind. So, I hope when I get my forever home I get a backyard that I can run around in. Some things we've learned about me. I can jump a 4' fence and I'm a smart cookie. I've learned the routine that we go into our kennels in the morning for breakfast and we do it again at night for dinner. Bedtime we get a special treat and I like to share my crate with another dog. I like to snuggle with other dogs. There are also cats here and I don't bother them unless I see them running around. I think, well if you are running around so am I and well, I might bark at them. I get corrected with a squirt bottle and I stop. See, I'm a fast learner. I make no accidents in the house. I'm a real Lady in that department. I know we go outside to do our business and I will go to the back door to signal I gotta go. I hope one day I will have a family that will love me forever and never let me become a stray again. I know with my size being petite I might make a good apartment dog but when I do bark, I got a high pitch bark. So, apartments might be iffy. Hi there my name is Huey and I am a Chihuahua/Schnauzer/Terrier mix about 3 years old. As you can see I am the cutest thing ever-at least that's what my foster mom tells me. All of her friends just can't get enough of her posts that show my charm and silliness. I was a stray and found by animal control. I had a little stay with them but was passed over as I am afraid of people initially and will bark and growl. I need a little time to trust and build a bond, someone wanting to pet me needs to understand they have to wait so I can see they are a good person and that I can trust them, doesn't take long but I need that time. I am not one of those dog park dogs since it takes me a couple times to meet people/and dogs to show I am a great pup. I am not a barker, however when I hear noise and don't know what it is just like any other dog I will bark at it, so probably not a good fit for an apartment. I am looking for a home with a dog sibling for me to play with. I need one that is playful and who will put me in my place, I do well with my current foster siblings. I also am looking for a fenced yard to run and play. No children as I am afraid initially of people and little ones might be too much for me. If your looking for someone to cuddle with look no further, I love to cuddle. I have been completely vetted, heartworm negative, and fecal negative. Chico is guessed to be about 8 years old and weighs about 9 lbs. He came to us from Chicago Animal Care and Control where he had ended up as a stray and no one came to claim him. Chico is an energetic little guy who likes to explore, but also loves to burrow in his blankets/bed Chihuahua style and take a good nap. He's the perfect balance. Chico needs a slow introduction to other dogs and he doesn't seem to like bigger dogs much.. We think he would do best as an only dog or with smaller low key dogs. Chico tends to bark if he hears noises outside or sees people while on walks, so he might prefer to live in a more quiet residential area versus a very busy city lifestyle- which may prove to be too much stimulation. Chico is slow to warm up to new people and initially is very barky. He warms up to kids quicker than adults and absolutely adores his human foster brother. He can be snappy if pet or touched when he isn't in the mood, so he would need a home with dog savvy kids. Chico's adoption donation of $290 helps cover the cost of his medical care.
