Story
Say hello to Charlie — a 6-month-old neutered sweetheart (yes, the little tattoo on his belly proves it! 😉). This boy has already lived through more than most pups, but his heart is still full of love and hope. 💛 Charlie’s story: He came from a tough situation — his owner passed away, and he was kept in a hoarder house where he wasn’t allowed outside. But over the last month, Charlie has finally learned what comfort feels like. He’s been snuggling every night with an 11-year-old girl, gaining confidence, trust, and joy. 🥹✨ Now he’s ready for his forever family. Here’s why Charlie is AMAZING: ✨ Total cuddle bug ✨ LOVES cats ✨ Not a fan of bunnies ✨ Can get a little separation anxiety if left alone too long ✨ Great with kids — especially loving, patient ones ✨ Acts fearless and does the cutest sideways “hop bark” ✨ Personality blossoming more every day ✨ Goofy, loving, sweet, and SO ready to shine If you’re looking for a pup who will bond deeply and bring joy, laughs, and endless affection, Charlie is your boy. 🐶❤️

Story
Make A Difference in your Community - Adopt a Shelter Dog! Would you like to foster a Shelter Survivor? For more information, visit us at www.sheltersurvivors.com This is sweet little Tippy! Tippy is a five pound bundle of love. She is about 8 years old. Tippy was surrendered to us when her owner passed away and her family could no longer care for her. Right before she entered our care, she jumped off of something that was too high for her and she broke her paw. Tippy has completely healed now and she is back to being able to run and play as usual. We have taught Tippy not to jump off of things and to use steps if necessary to get down from higher places. She is so smart and a quick learner. We do not have her go up and down flights of stairs simply because we do not want her to put consistent pressure on her joints or tiny bones. That's fine by Tippy because her favorite place is to be in her foster mom's arms. Tippy was adopted recently, but returned about 6 weeks later. While Tippy is super loving and sweet, she has what we consider a typical Chihuahua personality. She will nip and bite if she is scared or challenged at times. It proved to be too much for her adoptive family and as heartbroken as they were, they did not feel that they could manage Tippy's behavior. We completely understood and Tippy is back with her foster family. She acclimated back into her foster home without any issues. She proved to be the same sweet and sassy girl that she was when she left her foster home. She fell right back into her foster home routines. Tippy spends her time between two foster homes. In one home, Tippy has a little more freedom. She has a large space to roam, but we do not allow her to go up and down stairs (as we stated before). She is with one person in this home and there are no other pets. She loves the low-key life in this foster home. Sometimes Tippy also spends time in another foster home, In this home, there are other dogs that live with her. While Tippy does not mind the company of the other dogs, she does not like when they get too excited. We believe she would do best as an only pet or she would be fine living with another dog or cat that is super chill and tolerant of her big personality. In this home there are also multiple people. Tippy is a typical Chihuahua. She will attach herself to one person and want to be with them. She doesn't mind the other people in the household, but she definitely wants "her person" when that person is home. Tippy is crate trained, but in both homes she has a pen that she sleeps in at night. She sleeps through the night in her pen which is in the bedroom where her foster mom sleeps. She does have a large crate that she stays in in one foster home when her foster mom is away; in the other home she has a larger pen that she stays in. Because of Tippy's size and personality, we are looking for an experienced Chihuahua owner without children. Older teenagers may be okay as long as they will respect Tippy's space when she needs it. Tippy has had so much change in her little life the last few months. She has adjusted so well in each situation, but it's time for Tippy to find her forever home. She needs a Chihuahua savvy family who will understand what she wants or needs. She gives clear signals when she is scared and/or unhappy. Tippy is completely house trained! Which is amazing for a small dog! LOL! Tippy is wee-wee pad trained as well, but usually will do her business outside. She rarely uses her wee wee pad, but we do keep one in her pen for her. She is very clean and neat. She will need a little patience at first when meeting a new person. She can be a little shy. It doesn't take too long for her to understand that you are her friend. Tippy loves to go for walks outside. She also enjoys a good game of fetch. She is spunky, sassy, and sweet and cuddly all in one. If you think that you could provide the loving home that Tippy deserves, please fill out an application for her. Tippy is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations and house trained. To adopt Tippy, please complete our online dog application by going to sheltersurvivors.com Click on the home page, look for "Application" at the top of the home page, and complete the application. Hit the submit button once you have completed the application in its entirety. This will expedite the adoption process. Adoption Fee: $400.00

Story
Leo is a 4-month-old Chihuahua mix who currently weighs 9 lbs., but don’t let his current petite size fool you—he’s still growing and will likely land around 20 lbs. once full grown. He came to us from another local rescue and has been charming the volunteers here since he arrived. Leo is cute, curious, and affectionate—the kind of puppy who wants to be near his people and explore everything the world has to offer. Like all young pups, he’ll need continued training to help him grow into a confident, well-mannered companion. If you’re looking for a loving little buddy with lots of potential, Leo is ready to wiggle his way into your heart and home. Apply at lvpeaceablekingdom.info.
