Story
My name is Sister! Kind of a funny name right? My foster mom found me and started saying "Hey sister!" and well, it just stuck. So, here I am! I am about 3 years old a Chi Mix but my face says I might have a touch of Pug in there too. I am teeny tiny and just about 7 lbs. I have been a really good little girl. I am housebroken and can use the doggy door! I live with other dogs with absolutely no problem. I am mellow and so far, I have been a quiet gir! I can be a little shy at first and just take a few minutes to warm up. I am still getting the lay of the land. I am not nippy like most think my breed would be; I can be picked up and held. I think I would enjoy a rather mellow home where I can hang out, bond with my people, enjoy my couch time and laps and take nice strolls in my neighborhood. I do not know how I would be with a cat (although I am smaller than many)! We also think I would appreciate a home with adults and older children. I haven't told the rescue yet about my experience with littles. Here is a link to the application: https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
Meet Jungwon - Your Tiny, Talkative Shadow! This adorable long-haired Chihuahua is Jungwon, a 3-year-old boy weighing in at a perfect 4kg (8.8 lbs) of fluff, sass, and snuggles! He’s currently in South Korea, but he’s all set and ready to fly to his forever home anywhere in the United States! Jungwon was found wandering the streets during a local festival, most likely abandoned. Thanks to a kind citizen’s report, he ended up at a city shelter — and just in time, a private rescuer pulled him out before his scheduled euthanasia. Now, he’s safe and being loved in a foster home while waiting for the next chapter of his life. 💉 He is neutered (via cryptorchid surgery), fully vaccinated (including rabies and all combo shots), and in good health. Though he may have some tear stains (possibly due to a mild allergy), he’s otherwise thriving! Jungwon’s Personality: A confident communicator – he’s not afraid to tell you what’s on his mind! A charming chatterbox – he’ll "talk" to you when he wants cuddles or attention. A total sweetheart – he loves both adults and kids, and enjoys the company of other dogs too. He's never met a cat, so we’re not sure about that match yet. He enjoys his walks, has good manners on a leash, and does well with both indoor and outdoor potty routines. He doesn’t have separation anxiety, but he will give you a polite bark if he wants to be picked up or pampered! Jungwon does have a bit of a "guarding instinct" when it comes to things he loves – typical of his breed – but he’s never shown aggression. Just a little sass to keep you on your toes 😉 If you’re looking for a pint-sized companion who’s full of personality, affection, and entertaining commentary, Jungwon might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to hop on a plane to meet his forever family — maybe that’s you? :)

Story
Meet Jerry – Tiny, Tender, and Looking for a Lap to Call His Own 📍 Currently in Korea 💛 Available for adoption through 3ft Rescue 🐶 Name: Jerry 🎂 Estimated Age: 5 years ⚖️ Weight: 6.2 lbs (2.8 kg) 🐾 Breed: Chihuahua 🩺 Neutered: Yes 🚽 Housebroken: Fully pee pad trained 🧒 Good with Kids: Yes 🐱 Good with Cats: Yes 🐕 Good with Dogs: Has some jealousy; best as an only dog Jerry was rescued from an illegal puppy mill in Busan, South Korea — one of many small dogs used for profit, not love. But Jerry survived, and now he’s learning that he doesn’t have to fight for affection anymore — that it can be his and his alone. He’s a tiny boy at just 6.2 lbs, and with that little body comes a gentle but sensitive heart. He does wonderfully with children and even gets along with cats, but when it comes to other dogs, he tends to get jealous and protective of his person. For that reason, we recommend Jerry as an only pet, where he can truly shine and receive undivided love. He's fully pee pad trained, calm and well-behaved at home, but does get nervous around adult men — something we believe stems from his past. He never shows aggression, just a bit of fear, and he blossoms most in a quiet, patient home with someone who will move at his pace. Jerry is not just a rescue — he's a survivor with a soft soul, ready to love deeply and be loved right back. If you're looking for a one-and-only kind of companion, Jerry may be just the little shadow you’ve been waiting for. 📩 Apply to adopt Jerry through [3ft Rescue].

Story
Greer is one lucky dog! One of NorthStar's fosters saw that Greer was on "the list" at the shelter so she went in, scooped her up and brought her home to foster. We will be finding out more about Greer in the next few weeks and we will post an updated bio soon. For now we know that Greer has some hair loss on her back end which will receive treatment immediately. Her teeth aren't in good shape and some of her front teeth are missing, poor girl. Greer is a Chihuahua mix with a scruffy look to her. She is 4 years old and weighs a little over 10 pounds (perfect size for any lap!) So far, Greer seems to be extremely "chill." When foster mom takes her outside, Greer sniffs around a bit then just lays down in the grass next to her. If you'd like to be part of Greer's "Act Two" in life, please fill out an application at www.northstarpets.org and ask for GREER TX!June 24, 2025, 10:29 am

Story
Meet Chip (brown) and Mouse (black)!!!  These two wonderful boys are being re-homed because their owners can no longer care for them.  These 2 boys are 3 years old and have lived together their entire lives and depend on each other so they MUST be adopted together.  NOTE:  Chip and Mouse are NOT NorthStar Pet Rescue dogs.  NorthStar is helping to network them for a suitable home.  NorthStar does not guarantee the accuracy of this listing and applications will be sent to the owner to respond to.  Mouse is 3 years old, weighs 24 lbs, and has black and white fur. Chip is 3 years old, weighs 14 lbs, and has light brown fur. As a puppy Mouse was found in a kennel with his siblings in a neglectful hoarding situation. He had never been allowed outside, leading to him having severe anxiety and fearfulness of loud noises and of going outside. He currently only leaves the house for vet appts and goes potty inside on pads. He also has some minor allergy/skin issues that are treated as needed. Aside from these issues, Mouse is an absolutely adorable, sweet, playful, hilarious dog who really loves to play and have little zoomies in the house. He also loves to cuddle and receive lots of belly rubs. We also have never heard him bark once - he will sometimes let out a little cry when you get home after a long day. Despite his anxiety about going outside he's made sooo much progress since we first got him and is a totally different, much happier dog. He's especially so much happier since getting his brother Chip who he depends on for comfort and guidance.    Chip is a really great, affectionate, easy to please dog who's only issue is some reactiveness/barking with strangers and other dogs. He doesn't have any anxiety or issues with going outside he can be taken out and walked as normal, just wouldn't recommend dog parks. He loves going on long walks and being outside, however he's not the type of dog you can take to a park and just relax with he prefers to be walking and moving. Once he's inside, he's very calm and chill and just happy to be at Mouse's side and giving us all lots of kisses.    It's really important that they're adopted together because this transition will be hard for both of them, but especially for Mouse and we think he'll struggle to adjust a lot more without Chip. They really love each other a lot and are nearly attached at the hip most times. We wouldn't recommend a home with cats and would suggest a home with older kids if any. Chip would be happy to play and run around with them, but Mouse definitely would require kids who can respect his boundaries and be gentle with him. We think they would do best with an experienced, patient, loving, and supportive owner who lives in a quiet home and neighborhood, and has a fenced in secure yard. They will both need further training and support, Mouse for his anxiety and Chip for his reactivity. We think Mouse would eventually be okay with going outside in a yard, it's just been harder for us to try because their owner lives in an apartment in a busy neighborhood. But we truly think they can both thrive in the right home. They're such good boys and just really sweet, gentle, loving, silly, and affectionate dogs who we know will fill someone's home with so much more joy, love, and laughter as they have ours.     Both dogs are neutered, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, and up to date on vaccines. If you are interested in taking this duo into your home, please submit an adoption application to www.northstarpets.org and ask for XP CHIP & MOUSE - BONDED PAIR!November 3, 2024, 7:59 pm
