Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Jadu Age: Around 2 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Chihuahua mix Color: Brown with Black Muzzle Weight: 3kg / 6.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a city pound where I had been placed on the euthanasia list simply because there was no longer enough space. My time was running out, and without someone stepping in, I might never have had the chance to experience the life I deserved. Thankfully, rescuers found me in time and brought me to safety. That chapter of my life is over now, and I’ve been allowed to start again. I’m ready to leave the uncertainty behind and find a forever family who will love me, protect me, and make sure I always know exactly where I belong.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues I am scheduled to undergo surgery for my luxating patella.   MY PERSONALITY My name means “Plum” in Korean, and just like a little plum, I’m tiny, sweet, and absolutely adorable! My name couldn’t suit me better, and I’m actually even smaller and cuter in person than I look in my photos. From the way I behave, the volunteers and staff believe I may have lived in a home before. I seem to understand the rhythm of being around people naturally. I love having fun and playing, but once I’ve had enough excitement, I’m perfectly happy settling down and resting calmly beside someone. I have a lovely balance between being playful and knowing when it’s time to relax. Don’t let my tiny size fool you either! I’m a confident little girl when it comes to making dog friends, and I’m not intimidated by dogs much bigger than me. I’m happy to join in the fun and enjoy spending time with dogs of all sizes. Most of all, I absolutely love people! Sometimes I get so excited to meet someone new that I simply can’t contain myself. During my profile photoshoot, I was happily jumping right into the volunteers’ and staff members’ arms, asking for pets, cuddles, and all the attention they were willing to give me. I’m a tiny girl with a huge amount of affection to share, and I can’t wait to have a family whose arms I can jump into every day.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m incredibly friendly and love meeting new people! I happily soak up all the attention and affection I can get, even from people I’ve just met. I’m comfortable being picked up and held, and I’ll happily roll over and show you my belly when I’m hoping for some extra belly rubs. With my sweet, affectionate, and trusting personality, making new friends comes naturally to me. · With Dogs: I’m definitely more of a people’s pup! While I’m friendly with other dogs and enjoy greeting new canine friends, I don’t show much interest in playing with them. After saying hello, I’m usually perfectly happy wandering off and doing my own thing. My heart really belongs to people, and I’d much rather spend my time soaking up affection, cuddles, and attention from the humans around me. I can peacefully share my space with dog friends, but I don’t need another dog to keep me entertained or make me feel happy. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m still working on perfecting my leash manners and may pull at times, especially when something catches my interest, but overall I follow my handler’s lead nicely. I also have good manners around food and don’t guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs. I can sometimes bark when I’m looking for attention or when I hear or notice something that I think is worth alerting everyone about, but I calm down and settle again. I’m also still learning how to rest quietly and comfortably in my kennel, so I’ll benefit from continued patience and positive practice. For potty habits, I currently go both indoors using pee pads and outdoors. I may do a little marking when I first enter a new environment, but with time, a consistent routine, and guidance as I settle into my new home, I should continue making progress.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I may be tiny, but I have a big personality and an even bigger love for people! I’m happiest when I’m around people and absolutely love affection. During my profile photoshoot, I could barely contain my excitement and kept jumping right into the volunteers’ and staff members’ arms for pets and cuddles. After I’ve had my fun, I’m also happy to settle down calmly beside someone and simply enjoy being close to them. The volunteers and staff believe I may have lived in a home before because of how naturally I seem to settle around people. While I’m definitely more of a people’s pup, I’m comfortable around other dogs too. I’ll happily greet new dog friends, including dogs much bigger than me, but after saying hello, I usually prefer doing my own thing rather than joining in lots of play. I’m a sweet, affectionate little girl with so much love to give. Whether I’m bouncing into your arms for cuddles or quietly resting beside you, what I really want is to be close to my people. I can’t wait to find a forever family who will love having their tiny Plum by their side.   JADU'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2837886##

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Jamong Age: About 2 Years Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Chihuahua Mix Color: Brown Weight: 2.5kg / 6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a city shelter after being placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me a second chance and a hopeful new beginning. Now, I’m ready to start the next chapter of my journey and find a loving forever family to call my own.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Jamong! I’m an unbelievably tiny and adorable girl, but don’t let my size fool you—I have a surprisingly brave little personality packed into this miniature body. I can sometimes look timid because I become very submissive around people, but underneath that soft exterior is a confident little character who isn’t nearly as fragile as she looks. People are definitely my soft spot. I genuinely love humans and will approach people on my own, but the moment someone comes toward me, I tend to melt straight onto the floor. I’ll lower my head, flatten myself down, and often roll over to show my belly. Sometimes even making eye contact is enough to make me adorably flustered! Once I’m interacting with people, though, I’m incredibly gentle and affectionate, with plenty of sweetness to share. With dogs, I have a completely new side. Bigger dogs generally don’t bother me much, but if a dog around my own size gets too close or pesters me, I’m perfectly capable of telling them what I think. I may growl or stand my ground, and despite my tiny stature, I can be surprisingly bold during a disagreement. Apparently, nobody told me how small I am! I’d love a family who appreciates the hilarious contrast that makes me so memorable: with humans, I’m a tiny sweetheart who practically melts into the floor for affection; with certain dog friends, I suddenly seem convinced I’m ten times my actual size. Give me plenty of love, respect my boundaries, and keep this tiny body safe, and you’ll get a wonderfully affectionate little companion with more personality—and courage—than anyone could possibly expect from such a small package.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m naturally friendly and affectionate with people, and I’m happy to approach both familiar faces and new people for attention. I enjoy leaning in for affection and am comfortable being petted—even with someone I’ve just met, I may feel comfortable enough to roll over and show my belly. I haven’t had experience with children under 13 yet, so my comfort level with younger kids is still unknown. · With Dogs: I’m comfortable approaching unfamiliar dogs to say hello, though I usually prefer a friendly greeting rather than jumping straight into play. I generally do well with dogs bigger than me. If another dog challenges me, I may try to stand my ground rather than back away—even if my attempt at being tough isn’t particularly convincing! Because of this, calm and careful introductions are still important when I’m meeting a new dog for the first time. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m also happy to settle down and relax afterward. I’m still working on my leash skills and may pull at times, but overall, I follow my person well and respond to their guidance on walks.   TRAINING & HABITS I don’t guard my food around people or other dogs I rarely bark. I’m calm and settled when I’m in a kennel I’m comfortable with both indoor pee pads and going potty outdoors.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES    JAMONG'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2827581##

Story
Herman is a sweet little senior with an adorable face, a love of comfy dog beds, and a soft spot for canine companionship. He’s happiest spending his days relaxing in the living room, soaking up the sunshine on the patio, or napping close to his people. One of Herman’s best qualities is how well he gets along with other dogs. He enjoys their company, follows their lead, and would likely do well in a home with another calm, friendly dog. He’s generally a quiet little guy who rarely barks and is content to observe the world around him. Herman has a delightfully independent personality and definitely marches to the beat of his own drum. He takes time to build trust, but once he forms a bond with his person, we believe he’ll become an even more devoted companion. Because he can be sensitive when handled in ways he doesn’t like, Herman is looking for an adult-only home with someone who understands and respects a dog’s boundaries. He has tried to nip both his foster mom and the vet. Like many senior dogs, Herman comes with a few special needs. He is not yet housetrained and currently wears a belly band indoors. He appears to have spent much of his life using pee pads and is still learning that outside is the place to go. His adopter should expect that house-training will require patience, consistency, and plenty of time at home. A family that’s comfortable continuing with belly bands or indoor potty options may find that suits Herman best. Herman has low exercise needs and isn’t interested in long walks. A secure yard or patio where he can enjoy fresh air and sunshine is just his style. He rides quietly in a carrier for car trips and settles nicely at home when left alone for a few hours. Herman can live with dog-savvy cats, although he may chase them if given the opportunity. He also appears to prefer eating his meals separately from other dogs. If you’re looking for a tiny companion with a big personality, appreciate quirky seniors, and have the patience to let trust grow at Herman’s pace, this little fellow may be exactly the dog you’ve been waiting for. In return, you’ll gain a loyal companion who simply wants a safe, understanding home where he can enjoy his golden years.

We truly appreciate your patience while we work through this issue — and thank you for wanting to help a rescue dog    — Loyal Rescue Name/Tag#: Osiris 3785 Age: 18 months Sex/Altered: Male / Neutered Weight: 5 lbs Breed: Chihuahua mix Foster Home Location: OTTAWA, ON Adoption Fee: $900.00 Temperament: Sweet, playful, curious, loving, Activity/Energy Level: Low Up to date on Shots: Yes Housebroken: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Ok with Dogs: Good with small dogs but dogs bigger than 10 lbs Ok with Cats: No Ok with Kids: No, looking for adult only home Origin: Shelter Release Requirements: A secured fenced yard (no tie out or electric fencing, REMEMBER he could squeeze out of small places), someone home with him, only gets along with small dogs that have good manners.  Meet Osiris! Around my foster home, I'm also known as Babe or Mister—I'll happily answer to them all! I may only weigh 5 pounds, but my heart is absolutely enormous. If there's one thing I've learned about myself, it's that I was made to love people. My favorite place in the world is wherever my humans are... especially at bedtime! I'm needing to find a forever family that doesn't mind sharing the bed with me. Every night, I curl up at the top of the bed, get cozy, and sleep soundly until you tell me it's time to start the day. Because I'm such a tiny little guy, I'm looking for an adult-only home with a securely fenced yard. I'm small enough to squeeze through the tiniest openings, so my safety is very important. I currently live with several other dogs in my foster home and have discovered that I'm happiest with dogs my own size or smaller that aren’t in my personal space all the time. I love playing with my little canine friends, but it has to me on my own terms, I don’t like being pestered when I have had enough play time! Larger dogs are overwhelming for me, and I'm not afraid to let them know I'd prefer they keep their distance. I also enjoy going for walks. If we happen to see a bigger dog, my foster mom simply scoops me up into what she jokingly calls "air jail." The moment I'm safely in her arms, I stop barking, relax, and happily continue our adventure. I truly believe I was put on this earth to love and be loved. Now I'm searching for a forever family who will love me to the moon and back, keep me safe, and make me part of their everyday life. If you think we might be the perfect match, I'd love to receive your application. I can't wait to start the next chapter of my life with a family who will cherish me forever. And now, a few words from my foster mom: Osiris may be tiny, but he has a huge heart and enough personality to fill an entire house! Certified in being your very best friend, this little guy wants to be wherever you are. A person home most of the time would be an ideal home for this little guy. He is  not suited to apartment or multi unit living due to his fear of meeting larger dogs and barking when he hears noises. Osiris has perfected the art of the surprise snack theft. He'll patiently watch you enjoy your fries, waiting for the perfect moment. Before you know it, one has disappeared right out of your hand, and you'll turn to find Osiris happily munching away with the most innocent expression on his face. His clever antics don't stop there. Around the other foster dogs, Osiris quietly watches as they enjoy a favorite bone or toy. The instant an opportunity presents itself, he swoops in, snatches the prize, and settles down to enjoy it himself before the other dog even realizes what happened. It's all done so quickly and confidently that you can't help but laugh. Osiris is incredibly smart, lightning-fast, and always knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. Despite his mischievous side, he doesn't have a mean bone in his little body. He's simply a happy, lovable character with a zest for life, a talent for making people smile, and a heart full of love. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep you laughing every day, Osiris is truly one of a kind. Questions? Meet Waffles! Sweet, tiny, and absolutely adorable Waffles is 7 months old, a Chihuahua mix, and weighs just 10 pounds. Basically, she’s a fun-sized best friend with big plans to steal your heart. Waffles can be a little shy when she first meets someone new. She likes to take a minute to observe the situation, check your credentials, and make sure you’re trustworthy. Give her a little patience and some gentle love, and before long you’ll get to see the sweet little girl hiding underneath that shy exterior. She gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids, so she’s happy to share her home with two-legged AND four-legged family members. Waffles is still working on her housetraining and leash skills — she’s only 7 months old, after all! She may be tiny, but she’s still got some puppy homework to finish. With patience, consistency, and maybe a few tasty bribes, she’ll get there! She is vaccinated, rabies vaccinated, and spayed. ✅ Waffles is looking for a family who understands that the best relationships sometimes take a minute to warm up. Give this little girl the chance to feel safe, and you just might end up with 10 pounds of Chihuahua permanently attached to your heart. Who needs syrup when Waffles is already this sweet?

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION MEET TINY! Tiny | 8 years | Chihuahua | 12 lbs Tiny is a sweet little gentleman with the most precious personality. At 8 years young, his favourite things are pretty simple — cozy naps, yummy meals, bully sticks, lots of pets and giving kisses to his favourite people. He is housetrained and leash trained, although he could definitely live without the leash if given the choice. He’s not much of a toy guy either. Tiny would much rather curl up somewhere comfy and enjoy being loved. Tiny has mobility challenges but gets around the house amazingly well without his wheels. For longer adventures, his wheels give him the extra help he needs. Tiny is wary of men, so he will need a patient and understanding family who will give him the time and space he needs to feel safe. And his foster’s favourite thing? His tiny little tail wag when he’s happy to see you. That little wag says everything. Tiny is looking for a soft place to land where he can spend his golden years feeling safe, spoiled and very, very loved. This little 12-pound sweetheart deserves his happily ever after. Story
Ollie and Lulu were surrendered to us when their owner no longer had the time to care for them. They both had untreated medical issues and severe dental disease, leaving them extremely uncomfortable and lethargic. After receiving treatment they became almost entirely different dogs. Ollie and Lulu may be seniors but they sure do like to go for walks and run around the yard together. They are a volunteer favourite because of their goofy and sweet dispositions. They are selective with dogs and would only do well in a home with another calm dog that does not intimidate or become rough with them. Ollie does bark at other dogs in passing, while Lulu ignores them. Ollie and Lulu would do well in just about any home. They have been great with respectful children that are experienced with dogs. Lulu can sometimes have grumpy moments when she wants her space to nap. It's important to look for the obvious signs when she needs alone time. Ollie is always happy and ready for a cuddle. This cute duo have great house manners, they frequently go on sleepovers with our dedicated volunteers who report they are always on their best behaviour.
