Story
Meet Woofgang Puck, or just Puck for short! This lovable 8-year-old Chihuahua mix is a little bundle of joy, possibly with a sprinkle of Beagle in his genes. At first, Puck may come off as shy, but give him a moment, and his playful side will shine like a star! Puck adores his toys and loves to get into some light-hearted trouble—just picture him as the life of the party! He enjoys his naps, but don’t let him miss out on the fun; after all, who wants to snooze through an adventure? He loves being outside, but keep an eye on him—if the yard isn’t secure, he might go on his own mini explorations. And be careful! If a door is left open, he’s ready to dash out! When it comes to other dogs, Puck needs a little help. He has a tendency to “assist” them with their meals, which can be quite annoying. His friendly greetings can be a bit much—he barks, jumps, and wags his tail enthusiastically, which may confuse his canine pals. With some training, he can learn to tone it down. He’s also learning how to handle his protective instincts, but if you have other pets, be prepared to guide him through it. Puck is quite the jumper when he’s excited and might unexpectedly leap onto you, giving playful nips at your legs! He listens when corrected but often forgets the rules once the fun starts again. While he’s crate trained, Puck feels much more comfortable snoozing on a cozy bed rather than being confined to a crate. Sleeping in your bed isn’t something he’s into just yet. The good news is, he’s house trained and will let you know when it’s time to go out. Puck does have a heart murmur and takes medication twice a day for it. He can get a bit anxious, especially when being picked up or during car rides, and sitting on laps isn’t really his scene. This sweet boy is looking for a forever home filled with love, patience, and understanding. With your support, Puck will be ready for short hikes and exciting adventures with his favorite human! Puck has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. He also had a recent dental and lost a few teeth. If you are interested in adopting Puck, please complete an adoption application on our website. Just go to uaaf.org/adopt. Story
Hi, I’m Nora! I’m a 6-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix with a BIG personality and an even bigger heart. I love to make an entrance—whether I’m zooming down the hallway or running in and out of the house, you’ll hear me coming! My tail is usually wagging, and I’m always excited to see my people. When playtime is over, I’m a total snuggle bug and would be very happy curled up next to you on the couch. I’m loyal to the core and once I choose my person, you’re my person forever. I can be a little sassy (okay, maybe a lot), but that’s part of my charm. I also LOVE toys—seriously, I’ve built quite the collection and I’m very proud of it. I get along with other dogs, though I can be a bit bossy at times. I don’t have to be an only pup, but I do best with dog-savvy humans who understand that small dogs can have big feelings. I’m very protective of my people and just want to keep them safe. Cats? Well… I think they’re fun to chase, so I’d probably prefer a home without them (or with cats who can stand their ground). The good news? I’m crate trained, house trained, great on a leash, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped—and I just had a dental, so my smile is sparkling. If you’re looking for a sweet, spunky, toy-loving cuddle buddy with loads of personality, I might be your girl. I promise to love you fiercely and keep life entertaining. If you are interested in adopting Nora, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). Story
Miso, a 10-year old, 13 pound Chihuahua, is the definition of a gentle, low‑key best friend. This sweet senior boy has the calmest little spirit and is happiest curled up in a cozy bed or snuggled right up against his person. If your ideal day includes slow mornings, quiet evenings, and a peaceful companion by your side, Miso is absolutely your guy. He enjoys short, leisurely strolls to stretch his legs and take in the world, but he’s just as content lounging around the house like the softest, sweetest shadow. He’s house trained, well‑mannered, and wonderfully easygoing. Miso gets along well with other dogs and has a naturally quiet nature—though he may offer a tiny vocal “chat” when he’s excited or hoping for something. Honestly, it only makes him more endearing. He can be a bit skittish and may feel nervous about being picked up, so he thrives with someone patient and gentle who lets him move at his own pace. Once he feels safe, he melts for pets and scratches and soaks up every bit of affection he can get. If you’re looking for a soft, steady, heart‑warming companion, Miso is ready to be your cozy little soulmate. Miso has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Miso, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). For more information, call/text Cathy at 81-598-0771 or email cv-sandy@hotmail.com.

Meet Nuggie, a senior dog with a heart of gold and a personality as rich and layered as his name suggests. While he has a sweet and loyal side, he also knows exactly what he likes—and what he doesn’t. He’s independent, spirited, and full of character, just like you'd expect from a classic Chihuahua. Nuggie is friendly on his own terms, often forming strong bonds with his favorite people. He’s sharp as a tack and still enjoys exploring his surroundings with youthful curiosity. Once you’re in his circle, you’ll find a fiercely loyal companion who brings joy, laughter, and a whole lot of heart into your life. He’ll thrive in a home that appreciates his quirks, respects his space, and is willing to advocate for him with others. Whether that means letting guests know he needs a little time to warm up or ensuring he has a quiet spot to retreat to, Nuggie does best with someone who understands and honors his boundaries. Meet Martha 10 years • 16 lbs • Chihuahua mixIf you’re looking for a gentle, elegant little lady with a heart full of love, Martha is your girl. This mostly white Chihuahua—with a few adorable tan spots—moves through life with quiet grace. She’ll happily sleep in your bed or settle on a cozy dog bed with a soft blanket. This brave girl went through all her vetting like a true champ and is feeling so much better. She’s fully house trained, crate trained, and gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and personalities in her foster home. Martha is carrying a couple of extra pounds, so her foster is helping her slim down slowly and safely.Because she’s a senior lady, she’d do best with older, respectful children. She should have never ended up in a shelter, but now she’s on her path to the loving forever home she’s always deserved. If you’re ready to give this breathtaking little girl a safe, happy life filled with unconditional love, please fill out an application to meet her. Story
Meet Moose Moose is a 5-year-old, 8-pound cream and white sweetheart with the softest coat and an even softer heart. He joined the CAWS family on a lifesaving transport from New Mexico, arriving a bit nervous and unsure of the world. But it didn’t take long for his true personality to shine. Now his foster home is greeted daily with his adorable “helicopter tail” and the sweetest gentle kisses.Moose is house trained and crate trained, though he doesn’t need to be crated often. His foster family works from home, and Moose much prefers spending his days nearby with his people. At night, he loves nothing more than curling up close — sometimes even on his back under the covers — or cuddling on the couch for a quiet evening together.Despite his size, Moose is a gentle and quiet soul. He rarely barks and has a calm, sensitive nature. Because of this, he would do best in a peaceful home rather than a busy or rowdy environment, and a home with older, respectful children would be best for him.Moose gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, both big and small, male and female, though proper introductions are important. He especially enjoys spending time outside, so a home with a securely fenced yard where he can relax and explore at his own pace would make him very happy. This unique and magnificent boy is truly something special — quiet, loving, and full of gentle charm. Moose is ready to find a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of his life. In return, he’ll give endless loyalty, sweet companionship, and a presence that will absolutely steal your heart. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
