Story
Meet Midge, the 9-year-old Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love and a nose keen on exploration. She's a darling who cherishes her cuddle time but is equally content to nap on her own doggy bed. Midge has a gentle soul and enjoys the simple things in life—like snuggling on the couch or sunbathing in the yard. Though she generally gets along well with other dogs, she's a lady who values her personal space and won't hesitate to vocalize when her boundaries are crossed. Midge walks on a leash but be warned: she's a 'stop and smell the roses' (and everything else) kind of gal! While she's crate-trained, Midge prefers the freedom of letting herself out at night for a quick sip of water or an outdoor break. She thrives when she has either a human or a furry companion by her side throughout the day. Midge will thrive in a home where she can be showered with affection and have her unique preferences respected. If you're someone who appreciates the finer things in life, like a loyal companion who will stick by your side (but also values her independence), Midge may just be your perfect match! Midge has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and has been microchipped. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application on our website (uaaf.org). For more information, call/text Kirsty at (435) 671-0985 or email Kirsty.ju@gmail.com.

Story
Say hello to the adorable Remi! This sweet girl waltzed into the Animal Advocacy world on Valentine’s Day, and she’s ready to steal your heart! While we’re still guessing her exact breed (a gentle little Chihuahua mix, perhaps?), one thing we know for sure is that she’s absolutely charming. Remi has been through some pawsitively awesome training with Wasatch K9 Fitness and Training, so she’s all set to wiggle her way into your life! This little dynamo is just ten pounds of joy, looking for a forever home where she can play, play, play! An active family or a young, energetic dog around her size would be her idea of paradise. Plus, she’s a toy enthusiast, so get ready for some serious playtime! When it’s time to wind down, Remi loves nothing more than to snuggle up next to you—talk about the perfect cuddle buddy! She’s already a pro at using a dog door and, when adventure is out of reach, she’s got the potty pad down like a champ! To ensure Remi’s happiness, we’re looking for a home with a securely fenced backyard where she can frolic freely. She might have a bit too much energy for little ones, so we recommend families with kids over 10. But don’t worry—she’s a social butterfly who gets along great with all the dogs in her foster home! At just over two years old, Remi is ready to fill your life with laughter, loyalty, and endless affection. If you’re an outdoor explorer or a leisurely walker, Remi will be your ultimate adventure buddy—because who wouldn’t want a sidekick as fabulous as her? Are you ready to welcome this little gem into your family? Fill out an application and see if you’re her perfect match! Remi has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Remi, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org). For more information, call/text Cathy 801-598-0771 or email cv-sandy@hotmail.com.

Story
Meet Taco! This 2-year-old, 11 lb. chihuahua mix has a lot of personality, keeping his foster family thoroughly entertained. Taco’s a little wary of strangers, but quickly warms up. He is content lounging around, but also loves going on adventures. He’s just happy to be part of the gang. Definitely a big cuddler who loves affection, but also keeps to himself sometimes. Taco does really well with the other dogs he lives with. He’s got an alpha streak, but as long as his doggy companions can be respectful, they will be great friends! He often initiates play and loves to chase. We don’t know how he does with cats or children. When Taco was first taken into foster care, he was clearly underweight. Not surprisingly, his fosters noticed resource guarding at mealtime. This often develops when food is scarce. But he has already shown so much progress with this! By establishing consistent and sufficient meals, his fosters are slowly earning his trust. This little guy is a smart cookie! Being treat motivated and laser focused on his humans, he is extremely receptive to training. He does have a stubborn streak, but with consistency and a little patience, he can learn just about anything! His fosters have enjoyed having this cute little rascal around and they can’t wait for him to find his forever family. Taco’s spunk and sweetness might just be the secret ingredient your home needs! Taco has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Taco, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org). For more information, call/text Tammy at 801-230-9789 or email Tammygustaveson524@gmail.com

Story
Meet Deno, our delightful senior Chihuahua, who is nothing short of a little bundle of joy! With his sweet disposition, he fits right in with both cats and dogs, and his love for people is boundless. Deno thrives on companionship and adores being by your side, whether it’s snuggling up for a cozy nap or following you around the house, always eager to join your adventures. This little fellow (6 lbs.) has a big heart, and although he has a heart murmur, it doesn’t require any medication at this time. With a bit of medication, he’s living his best life and takes his seizure meds like a complete champ—just pop them in a pill pocket, and he’ll think he’s getting a tasty treat! Deno is not just a loyal companion; he’s also a quiet and gentle soul, who rarely barks. He enjoys his food but would thrive on a controlled feeding routine to keep him healthy and happy. His age, size and health wouldn’t mix well with young kids. His ideal home would be with a single person or couple. If you’re looking for a loving buddy to share your life with, Deno is your perfect match! He’s ready to fill your days with warmth and affection—don’t miss the chance to make him part of your family! Deno has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Deno, please complete an adoption application on our website -(uaaf.org). For more information, call/text Tammy, 801-230-9789 or email Tammygustaveson624@gmail.com.

Story
Harvey is a super special senior who is looking for his super special humans. At about 10 years old, Harvey is old enough to know what he likes - eating and napping! - and what he doesn't - being touched unless it's his idea. Harvey can be a nervous guy around big dogs and new people, we haven't seen him around cats and he shouldn't live with children. Harvey comes by his hesitation honestly, he likely lived a life of neglect and finally abandonment before coming to CAWS and didn't get all the love and care a dog should receive. We're dedicated to changing that now! We know Harvey's people are out there - someone who will allow him to climb onto your lap when he's ready for cuddles, and someone who won't hold his tendency to snap when he feels threatened against him. Harvey has Cushing's disease and thyroid issues, and will require lifelong medication and dedicated care. Harvey does bark, so he'd do better in a house than an apartment with shared walls. If you think you have the big heart to give Harvey the life he deserves, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Harvey's adoption fee is $100. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationSeptember 12, 2024, 7:42 am

Story
Ariel is an 8 year old female Chihuahua mix and she is the sweetest girl. She is bonded with her brother Sebastian, so the two of them are a package deal. Ariel is a tiny little thing, weighing in at 5 pounds. She likes to give kisses and either sit in your lap or right next to you. Her brother Sebastian will then spoon Ariel for a Chihuahua cuddle pile. At night she likes to sleep with her foster mom, under the covers, snuggled up to her. She is crate and house trained and gets along with dogs, kids, and cats. Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis.
