Story
Cosmos is a 9 month old chiweenie mix. He is a very shy at first and likes to be independent, but when he's ready to calm down he loves to snuggle up with the other dogs right by his foster mommas legs. He loves to play with toys and is very food motivated! He does well with other dogs, is a little nervous around young kids, but with time, patience, and lots of yummy treats he will make a great new addition to someone's family. Will probably do best with another confident dog to help show him things are ok, and a fenced yard or penned area until he's comfortable going in and out of the house. Working on leash, crate, & potty training. He is being fostered in Deerfield, WI taking applications now at our website: BeMyFurEvers.com/adopt ##2222981##

Story
Meet Penny, a very sweet and charming 5-year-old female Shih Tzu and Chihuahua mix. Originally hailing from Oklahoma, she brings warmth and joy to those around her. Weighing about 17 pounds, she's the perfect balance of petite and cuddly. Her favorite pastimes include snuggling up for cozy moments and playing with boundless enthusiasm. While she's a wonderful companion, she's happiest when she can enjoy the spotlight as the only animal in the house. She experiences separation anxiety when left alone and isn't a fan of being kenneled. Despite these quirks, her loving nature shines through, making her a cherished part of any family. You can apply to meet me on the website: BeMyFurEvers.com/adopt ##1763831##

She can easily get around and doesn't have any issues getting back upstairs. She is on eye ointment that she sits like a lady for, as well as meds for her arthritis, which runs about $30 a month. She will tell you when she has to go outside, but if you aren't paying enough attention, or you are not a home, she will avail herself of a potty pad also. Story
Ollie came to our rescue after being found on the streets in Milwaukee. His original pet parents never came for him so he went into a foster home with other dogs and cats. He was a bit overwhelmed with the number of dogs and since then has been transferred to another foster where he is more chill and relaxed. Ollie is approximately 4 years old, and is housetrained (but can always slip when placed into a new home). Ollie would love to be your one and only but another relaxed/older dog or cats would also work. Ollie can be shy at first, but he warms up and likes to snuggle next to you. He does take a little longer to warm up to men so a male will need to let Ollie set the pace! Ollie is up to date on all age appropriate vaccines: rabies, bordatella, DHPP, is microchipped and has tested negative for heartworm. Ollie will be having a dental on April 30, 2025 and depending on the location of the adopter could be placed prior to the dental. *Note we do not adopt out beyond 100 miles of zip code 53046. Story
About Me: Name: Domino Breed (or best guess): Chihuahua mix Approximate Age: 8 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 12 lb Adoption Fee: Reduced Fee $300 Requirements: Patient Adopter Why In Rescue: Owner passed away Profile: Domino has been with Bichon and Little Buddies for over 2 years as we have worked with him to have him become comfortable with humans other than his owner.  When he was surrendered, we were told he is paranoid - and that does fit him.  He gets worried when he has a tag on his collar or when he is wearing a sweater.  He has stranger danger, so isn't going to want to be in a household where people are coming and going a lot or where he is expected to go visiting.  While he has some issues, he is a funny and loving guy to the people he has bonded with.  He will sit excitedly, waiting for one of his chosen ones to kneel down and open his kennel door so he can leap out and give a hug.  It is now time for him to venture out and find a family of his own.  While he lived with other dogs in his previous home, at the shelter there are a number of dogs he doesn't get along with - primarily males, so he may do best as an only dog or a female dog with a slow introduction.  Domino went for a short home visit with a volunteer to see how he would be in a home.  He had issues with other dogs in the house when the foster mom had food.  We are hoping for an only dog home for him to lessen the chance for issues if he decided to try to guard his person or his food.  He did warm up to visitors with some time, but will likely always need a slow introduction.   If you are looking to adopt a dog that really needs you, Domino may be that guy.  He is an athletic little guy who will climb up to the top of his kennel so he can look out and see what is going on.  If you can offer Domino a patient and loving home, please fill out the pre-adoption application and we can discuss more things about him. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS December 31, 2024, 6:23 pm
