FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Mikey! Mikey is a 1-year-old, 15 lb Dachshund/Spaniel mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. He’s now looking for a very special home that can give him the time, patience, and understanding he needs to thrive. Mikey is a shy, sensitive boy who can be skittish in new situations and around new people. He is considered a flight risk, so he will need a calm, secure home committed to keeping him safe while he learns to trust and settle in. He’s looking for a quiet, predictable environment—ideally outside of the busy city—where he can decompress, build confidence, and establish a steady routine. Because of his sensitive nature, Mikey will need an adult-only home with adopters who have experience working with shy or fearful dogs. Having another well-adjusted, confident dog in the home would be a huge benefit for Mikey. He takes comfort in other dogs and would love a buddy to help show him the ropes and build his confidence. While he may be reserved at first, once Mikey forms a bond and feels safe, he shows his true colors—sweet, cuddly, and deeply loving with his people. He just needs time, patience, and a gentle approach to get there. Mikey has not been tested with cats. Mikey is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Sweetpea! Sweetpea is an 8-year-old, 10-lb purebred Dachshund with a huge love for people and a heart that’s ready for a fresh start. This little girl came to us after experiencing some neglect, including a skin condition and significant dental disease. Our veterinary team recently performed a dental procedure and had to remove all of her teeth. During that visit, they also discovered an old fracture in her jaw that left the lower jaw with very little bone support. Because of this, Sweetpea’s jaw is fragile and she will need to stay on a special soft-food diet for the rest of her life. She cannot have anything hard (including kibble or crunchy treats), as further damage to the jaw could require surgical removal of the lower portion. Right now she does great eating soft foods like shredded chicken, canned dog food, and soft options such as baby rice cereal. Sweetpea gets along well with other dogs, but for her safety we are looking for a home without other pets. This will prevent any chance of her accessing hard food or kibble that could harm her jaw. Despite everything she’s been through, Sweetpea has a wonderful personality. She absolutely loves people and enjoys soaking up attention. She does not have separation anxiety and can be left home alone without issue. She is also pee pad trained and does well with a routine. She will need to be taken outside shortly after eating, as she tends to need a bathroom break soon after meals. Sweetpea’s ideal home: • No other animals (to keep her diet strictly soft food) • An attentive adopter who can carefully manage her special diet • Adults only household able to closely monitor her jaw health • Someone looking for a loving little companion who adores people Sweetpea may have some special needs, but she has so much love to give. With the right home, this sweet little dachshund will happily spend her days cuddling, enjoying her soft meals, and being someone’s devoted companion. Sweetpea is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $300.

FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Garth! Garth is a 1½-year-old, 14 lb Spaniel/Dachshund mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This little guy is looking for a patient, understanding home where he can truly feel safe and loved! Garth is a shy and sensitive boy who takes time to warm up to new people and environments. He can be skittish at first and will need adopters who understand that building trust doesn’t happen overnight—but is so worth it. Once Garth feels comfortable and bonds with his people, he becomes incredibly sweet, playful, and affectionate. He forms deep connections and loves being close to his people. He does well with other dogs and enjoys running around and playing, though he can occasionally be a bit bossy with his canine friends. A well-matched dog companion could be a great fit for him. Garth does not walk on a leash and will need an adopter who is committed to helping him with this. We are looking for a a quiet, calm standalone home (no apartments or condos) outside of a busy city environment, with a fully fenced yard where he won’t feel overwhelmed by noise and constant activity. Because of his sensitive nature, he is looking for a home without young children. With time, patience, and a gentle approach, Garth will continue to grow in confidence and show more of his loving personality each day. If you’re someone who understands shy dogs and is willing to give them the space and support they need, Garth will reward you with a deep, loyal bond! Garth is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Lucy! Lucy is a 2-year-old, 12 lb Rat Terrier/Dachshund mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This little girl has been through a lot and is looking for a calm, loving home where she can finally decompress. Lucy is very shy and skittish at first, especially in new environments and around new people. Shelter life has been overwhelming for her, and she would truly benefit from a foster or forever home where she can decompress, settle in, and begin to build trust at her own pace. While she may be reserved in the beginning, we know that once Lucy feels safe, her sweet, playful, and loving personality will start to shine through. She just needs a patient, understanding person willing to give her the time she deserves. Lucy does great with other dogs and would feel more comfortable with a calm canine companion in the home to help her build confidence. She would do best in a quiet, predictable home in a peaceful neighborhood, without young children, where she can relax and slowly come out of her shell. Lucy is the kind of dog who may take a little extra time—but the bond you build with her will be incredibly special. If you have a soft spot for shy dogs and can offer a gentle, safe place for her to land, Lucy could be your perfect little companion! Lucy is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Odin! Odin is a 2-year-old, 14 lb Chiweenie who is packed with personality, charm, and goofy little dog energy! This fun-loving guy is outgoing, confident, adventurous, and always ready to be part of the action. Odin loves going on walks, exploring with his people, and joining in on daily adventures. He walks well on leash and would thrive in a home that enjoys an active, social lifestyle. Odin is quirky, silly, and affectionate with his people. Once he bonds with you, he bonds deeply and becomes a loyal little sidekick who always wants to be nearby. He does well with other dogs, though he can sometimes put on a bit of a “tough guy” act toward bigger dogs while on leash. With continued structure, guidance, and positive socialization, he’ll continue building confidence and improving his manners in those situations. Odin is looking for a home that will embrace his spunky personality, keep him active and engaged, and give him lots of love and companionship. If you’re looking for a sweet, entertaining little adventure buddy with a big personality, Odin might just be your perfect match! Oden is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.
